God to Villain - Steel Hell (RP Thread)

fc6oDbj.jpg

Rain poured to the grounds of Dusk City, the alleyways painted in liquid. Rats crawled through the muck of the desolate region, all manner of scum crawling into the streets of Dusk City to do their business.

And in the deepest, darkest parts of the city...

...

"Engen..."

A man walked into a dark, cold room, a flickering light keeping the room alight. It was empty, devoid of any obvious furniture or anything to brighten the mood. It was akin to a... solitary confinement chamber, cut off from the outside world and any other form of contact.

"I agreed to bring them here because I thought I'd get something out of this. Now, I know you'd never lie to me, but..."

"Quiet, Mujin. They'll come."

With him, stood another. He hid in the darkness, outside of sight, but he domineered over the air... His voice made the space around him tremble, and caused the man that stood before him to shudder, the power seeping into his veins. The man, seemingly named Mujin, shook his head, putting his hands in his pockets, a sly grin plastered across the dull man's face. He breathed out.

The two men, clouded in mystery, awaited their partners.

"You sure they'll come, Engen...?"

"They'll come."

"You said that already, but..."

"I told you to wait, Mujin... No villain worth a damn would pass up a job this profitable. Just have faith."

"Faith in what...?"

"Faith in villainy."

"Having faith in a villain...? Great idea..."

And they continued to wait.

"Mind giving me a briefing on them...?"

"You doubt to much, Mujin..."

"I at least deserve a briefing..."

"....."

"Come on, Engen. A briefing. I need info on who I'm working with."

"...."

"...Please?"

"...Fine."

"Great!"

"...."

"...Mind starting?"

"...Alarak Tal'tharim. A fighter. Previously a rich kid, but kicked out of her household after murdering a servant at the age of 5. Currently a mercenary. Her Soul Edge is called Psionic. Its effects aren't publically known."

"Sounds hard to deal with. Next?"

"..."

"...Next??"

"Michael. I don't know her past. Her Soul Edge is unknown."

"Wish you had more info, but, what can you do...? Next."

"Cato Hyatt. His past is irrelevant. His Soul Edge is unknown."

"....Amazing briefings."

"You wanted information."

"This isn't information..."

"You want it or not?"

"...Fine. Next."

"Zack Johns. Known to the public as the "Painter Master". A first-rate villain, with a versatile Soul Edge that allows him to distort reality."

"Reality Distortion...? Heh. Intriguing."

"It's powerful. It's why I hired him. But it's not all-powerful."

"Obviously. Next?"

"Kiara Merlo. An unknown past, with a pathetically weak Soul Edge. But she has potential. She can grow, if put to work."

"You've always had an eye for potential, haven't you, Engen...? Heh... Next?"

"Antony Collins. Another first-rate Villain. His powers are devastating, uncontrollable, but strong when tempered. He'll be useful for some muscle."

"Is that so...? I'll keep an eye on him, then. Next?"

"Mimic. Once again, a first-rate Villain. Digging up info on him his hard, though. He's never gone public with his skills, and the Hero Association has no file on him."

"He's discreet, then?"

"Very. I didn't have time to do anymore digging."

"It'll be interesting to meet him, then... Next?"

"Finally, a woman known as Tooha. Not a lot of info on her to begin with."

"Haaaa... Well, it's a fine enough briefing. I know what to expect... somewhat, then. I guess we just need to wait, then..."

Mujin crossed his arms, staring at the door as his teeth collided with his lower lip, a shudder running through his body.

"Don't get to excited, Mujin..."

"Oh, I won't... I just... wonder. Wonder who'd join us in this Hell..."

And as such, they waited for the new arrivals...

Cato— although still playing Chess— checks the view of the now descending helicopter, turning off his phone and checking the time on his pendant. Though he could've just used his phone, it us one of his penchant to do so.

Kiara was far more relieved now...she was never one for heights, but her main source of peace was that she would soon have enough space to activate her Soul Edge if necessary.

Mimic continued to look out the window as they gradually approach the ground, wearily scanning the sky. Mujin's comment, even in jest, put him visibly on edge, the man wondering if the darkness would hold against a lightning bolt.

"...Just a few more minutes. Just a few. More. Minutes..." Mimic muttered to himself. He clenched his fist against his knee, simply waiting for them to land.

"Anything wrong, mimic?" Michael whispered to him

(Bump.)

The helicopter continued to lower until it had reached below the clouds, landing in... seemingly the middle of nowhere. But, if one were to look in the distance, they would be able to make out a small city in the distance, high-rise buildings towering into the dark sky. Mujin glanced into the distance, grinning.

"Ahhh... There's our destination, right there. Cloud Garden, it's called, one of the cities owned by the Hero Association." Mujin said.

Mimic immediately hopped out of the helicopter, breathing a quiet sigh of relief as his feet touched solid ground. He glanced around wearily, fiddling with the knife in his pocket.

"...It's nothing, Micheal. This whole thing is just...sketchy." He muttered.

Cato scanned his surroundings, his eyes moving from one point to another in quick succession, glancing to Mimic and Michael's conversation quietly, looking to Mujin and Kiara, before finally darting his eyes to the supposed destination.

"Sketchy smetchy, you're getting paid so no big deal! We've all got each other's backs." Mujin said to Mimic, placing his hands in his pockets.

Michael landed right next to Mimic "True enough, can't be too cautious, can you?" She responded as Alarak got out of the helicopter and moved to check her surroundings, but smiled as she saw the city

"Oh this is gonna be a bloodbath..."

Antony sluggishly departs the helicopter, hopping onto the drenched ground, causing it to immediately frost.

He looks around for a moment before silently waltzing a little ways away from the group, preferring to keep his distance.

Michael chuckled "good one..." She said before she turned to Mimic "Join me now, so you don't lose the crow..." Michael said, walking off slowly

"Lose the crow? The hell does that mean..." Mimic muttered. He glared at the woman for a moment, before slowly breathing out.

"...I'd feel more comfortable seeing what we're dealing with, anyway..." He thought. He glanced around for a moment, before slinking behind the two. Worst comes to worst, he was fairly certain he could escape them, should this be an ambush of some kind.

"Show off..." Mujin said, just walking instead. There was no need to take off like an animal in heat, that'd only draw attention. He calmly scanned the area, his hands still in his pockets.

"*******....she's gonna get the heroes on our case like that..." Mimic muttered, breathing an agitated sigh as he watched Micheal's swift movements. Mimic for his part, tried to blend in, listening intently to the surrounding area for any sign of danger.

Michael was quick going in and out of hiding spots, but after going in another, she was gone, like she just fell off the face of the earth, she had gone into her smoke form to more effectively sneak up on anyone along the way and take note of them from in the ground

Mimic's eyes widened slightly, glancing around at the terrain. He was sure he had kept track of her, his eyesight being particularly well-honed, yet...she had seemingly vanished.

"...Guess that's her soul edge..." He muttered. He made a mental note to pay attention when she appeared again, hoping he could gleam some information about how it works.

There didn't seem to be any obvious danger, outside of the security and guards surrounding the Cloud Garden, their defenses far more hefty than anticipated. No inch was uncovered or unguarded, every visible corner of the city's borders guarded in some way shape or form from infiltration.

"What do yah see?" Mujin asked Mimic, glancing over to Michael as she used her Soul Edge.

Michael, taking note of this, traveled through the ground back to Mimic and Mujin

Behind Mimic, Michael's smoke came from the earth and materialized into her form "you want the good news or the bad news?"

Mimic grimaced, revealing a sharpened row of teeth. He glanced over at Mujin for a moment, before shaking his head.

"...My...Soul Edge, could maybe infiltrate it, unnoticed. But I can't talk for the rest of those freaks." He said bluntly, a look of agitation crossing his face as he peered across the walls.

"...The place is guarded like a castle."

Mimic jumped back, landing a few feet away. Instinctively, he grabbed his knife, holding it in front of him.

"******* christ. Don't move behind me like that!" He cursed, annoyance clear in his voice.

Mujin removed his hands from his pockets, sighing.

"Maybe we don't need to... infiltrate it, though, if you look at it from a different angle."

"I agree... Not much going on aside from the common norm. It wouldn't be wise to simply barge in." he said, standing next to Mujin as he glanced at the entrance.

"Sorry, it's a habit, bad for interacting with you." Michael said, genuinely apologizing and bowing a bit
Mimic blinked, clearly not expecting her to apologize. He hesitated for a moment, before slowly returning the knife to his pocket.

"...Just...don't do it again." He muttered, scratching his head.

Mujin removed his hands from his pockets, sighing.

"Maybe we don't need to... infiltrate it, though, if you look at it from a different angle."
Mimic raised an eyebrow, glancing at Mujin.

"I'm guessing you have a plan?" He said.

"I mean... We could just pretend to be normal citizens, and waltz in. Given, we'll need identification and a bit of a wardrobe change for a few of us, but, I can handle that if you'll all cooperate..." Mujin suggested.

Mimic stared at Mujin Incredulously, shaking his head.

"...How the hell are you going to get us IDs? A half-ass counterfeit won't fool the Hero Association." He asked.

"...How the hell are you going to get us IDs? A half-ass counterfeit won't fool the Hero Association." He asked.
"Well! I am so glad you took it upon yourself to ask! I'll just need... a strand of your hair, from each of you, and some time to digest! Which, for me, all in all takes around... 5 minutes." Mujin explained, "And when I mean digest, I do mean digest. I need to eat some of your DNA."

Cato held his pendant, looking at him, before plucking his hair and giving it to him.

"......."

"....Was that some kind of joke?" Mimic said, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Nope! It's how my Soul Edge works. I eat stuff and I make stuff. Smaller stuff is easier, bigger stuff, not so much." Mujin explained, an inexplicably gleeful smile plastered on his pale face as he gently took Cato's hair in his hand.

"...." Mimic continued to stare at the man for a few moments, before slowly shaking his head.

"...That's gross as hell..." He muttered. He reached into his pocket and, grabbing his knife, cut off a small strand of his own hair. Hesitating for a moment, he handed it to Mujin.
