It was some sort of tax write-off, since Warner was hugely in debt after the AT&T merger failure. Aperrantly Cartoon Network is also being shut down.

Jocelyn FINALLY resolves the infamous fan theory once and for all!
We knew already that DODB is a byproduct of the research of prior or forthcoming Death Battle episodes.
Now, who will Superman fight in a future Death Battle? And is Archie Knuckles vs Juggernaut a thing this season or next?
Sensing surroundings without looking into it helps.
Telekinesis and matter manipulation works very well and keep the opponent at a distance.

If Frieza was made like that, let alone Vegeta, Goku and Piccolo gained such buffs and potential, Cell as a mix of them can be pretty OP all things considered

So bad they would rather make this new Cell a New Cell and not resurrection of the old one.
The production crew knew they wrote the new Cell poorly.
Well if a Cell is so tough, simply make Gohan Blanco even stronger and haxxed enough to bypass Cell's own hax walls.

Then again Gas was literally worst DBS villain yet and even if Black Frieza is aguably bad writing, it was far more entertaining, so OGs keep beating new ideas. And they still did Cell Max, so might as well go all out.
Cell Max makes bit more sense than Bio Broly, as at least Cell was a gross bug monster after all, you can figure monster can be made into kaiju.
I guess if you want Cell back, maybe they could do Android 21 arc and have Cell return there.
