See if anyone can spot what is wrong with this picture.
Yeah, Youtube didn't properly credit Futakuchi Mana as the vocalist, kinda ****** up.
Also not very good to drop an F-Bomb on kids.

But technically people born out of someone else are someone's children so not fully wrong.

There is soemthing wrong I am being introduced with more verses I am not familiar with or are just straight too niche - and the Rooster Teeth research members consider some of the actually popular verses niche.

Enough talk. Some bump on some weird Star Wars characters.

And potentially some promotion on the upcoming Boba Fett episode.

... Speaking of which, what kind of genre would you put Predator series at?

so with Omnilander surpassing Lara vs Drake and the MM Battle Royale already we have....

42 Video game characters total characters featured in DB episodes surpassed by OmniLander already
vs
26 Comic book characters featured in DB episodes surpassed by Omnilander already

so yeah we complain about capeshit and rightfully so, but video game episodes just don't draw. They're the true dead weight media used in DB oddly enough, considering how many capeshit episodes we see. Soo....yeah....

Pretty sad since video games MUs were pretty major back in DB's early years.

And when some video games have a huge roster and is still relevant to the general public nowadays, many of such verses do not have proportionate candidates for Death Battle.

Oh. Perhaps the general public play fewer video games less and for those they play those games do not get sufficient candidates. Oh a matchup of Angry Birds vs Plants vs Zombies is definitely overdue and since both games seem to lose their shine over a long period of time it is harder to push such. I am just raising an example.

Well, to be fair, most capeshit mathcups don't compare to Omnilander. Omnilander is generally just one of those once in a lifetime lightning in a bottle matches.

What about the facts that Omni-Man vs Homelander is successful due to a variety of things
1. Omni-Man vs Homelander is a matchup of characters from Image Comics - something which is neither Marvel nor DC.
2. Omni-Man vs Homelander is shown fresh enough after Invincible animation and The Boys live action TV series + The Boys animation become super hit among a super broad audience all around the world. Again, good timing brings good views. Even Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna and Thor vs Vegeta benefit from good timing when MOM and LAT are being promoted with trailers.
3. Omni-Man vs Homelander are done in hand drawn animation - something considered by the public to be more sophisticated than sprites.
4. Omni-Man vs Homelander is a spite matchup done right - almost all people (I mean all people) love watching Nolan destroys John hard.

Well, all in all, we should be expected to see more Image Comics matchups.
  • Invincible vs Son Gohan or Superboy
  • Battle Beast vs Boros or Garou
  • Atom Eve vs Gwen Tennyson
  • Omni-Man vs Bardock
  • Spawn vs Ghost Rider or Rimuru Tempest (if Anos will not kill Rimuru or Rimuru will not kill AOG fast enough)
  • More

Spawn vs Ghost Rider or Rimuru Tempest (if Anos will not kill Rimuru or Rimuru will not kill AOG fast enough)
Maybe we have Spawn VS Demi-Fiend.

Right. It is shared by even some non-English DB fanbase. Homelander's empty threats is a thing I found funny since Homelander cannot harm JJJ's son and everyone JJJ knows.

It should be noted comics overuse has been going on for like 4 years, audiences are getting used to that and thus its possible comics eps retain views. Also, back then they managed to tie in some comics MU matches with MCU big hype as well.

The theory I've seen that DB "pissed off fanbases" does make me curious, because why else would Sephiroth's & Link vs Cloud 2 do THAT badly.

Ofc, maybe the sad truth is that a lot of S8 matches truly were more niche than expected, hence why big draw eps easily beat them.

also its too many hours later so no bonk image for that Alien quote lol

They need to do video game matches when their series has hype around them, like new games or any announcements for them, that way it attracts views

Like they miss the chance of airing Shulk vs Lightning when Xenoblade for Switch was launched for sale at 29 May 2020
Or Travis Touchdown vs Scott Pilgrim when No More Heroes 3 was launched for sale at 27 August 2021
Or Arceus vs King Drasil/Amaterasu (Okami)/YHVH (SMT) or Great Coloured Carp vs Magikarp when Pokemon Legends: Arceus was launched for sale at 28 January 2022
Or Sif vs Zacian when Elden Ring was launched for sale at 25 February 2022
Or Kirby vs Rimuru Tempest or Yuuma Toutetsu or Yuyuko Saigyouji OR any Meta Knight matchup when Kirby and the Forgotten Land was launched for sale at 25 March 2022

Ok but it also needed to take into account 2 things:
1. Omnilander is a fight which features recently popular characters and released at right moment (Boys season 3 hype)
2. A similar point to point 1, take some other random comic vs comic MU in comparance to video game vs video game MU on that case let's say Booster Gold vs Cable against Machamp vs Goro in views, and latter beats former by a million of views and they're released close to each other.

Like I'm not against comic MUs but the fact that some of them are getting lots of views does not necessarily mean variety of media should be stopped (which is probably I do hope Herc vs Wukong does not flops).

Also, I am not defending video game MUs here because my top 5 most wanted are video game vs video game, not at all.

Crash had just come back with the N. Sane Trilogy the year prior, so Crash vs Spyro is a possibility.

Maybe Ultron vs Sigma because MvC:I?
It was almost 1 year ago since NST was summer 2017. Tho funny enough Spyro Trilogy was announced just before release.

Technically Ultron vs Sigma counts but pffft cmon

Ghost Rider is far more likely than the latter who's not even an option

Death Battle can't predict when those tend to comes out
and some times they try to captilize on it some BS happens
Death Battle plans the season about halfway of the year and half the shit u listed has no instant indication of the being a hit

Says something when these are the best cases for "video game matchups taking advantage of active trends/general audience hype".

Brainstorming for upcoming stuff Death Battle could take advantage of:
  • Dante vs Kratos for later this year/earlier next year to capitalise on the new God of War.
  • An Arceus matchup for later this year to capitalise on the Arceus hype (Sinnoh remakes, Legends Arceus, the TCG stuff, etc.).
  • A Metroid matchup to coincide with Prime 4's proven existence release.
  • Could bring Bayonetta back for Bayonetta 3 hype, although by the standards of Death Battle characters she's relatively niche to use twice.
  • Another Zelda matchup for BotW2. Question is, what do you do with Zelda at this point? Ganondorf had his two most requested, Link got his rematch, Zelda arguably had her best. Maybe a Link Battle Royale?
  • I guess a Castlevania character for the recently announced Netflix show (Richter, Simon, Alucard, etc.).
  • Shulk vs Lightning because Xenoblade 3.
  • Another Sonic matchup for Frontiers/Origins (Knuckles vs Juggernaut, Bowser vs Eggman, etc.)
Looking at the confirmed characters, we could see Guile vs Jax, a Chun-Li runback, Juri vs Mileena/Tira, etc.

Anything else I'm forgetting?
