DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I've come to make an announcement, Eggman is a certified fraud. He couldn't even kill a single goomba permanently in that entire fight. That's right, all powers, no wins, no kills. He's not even World 1-1 level!
He was basically like Kaido in Wano, gotch'ya

The IDW comics are so wierd in regards to the scale, like I play the games and buy that base characters could beat saiyan saga characters no issue, then I read the comics and as much as I love them, I can't imagine the likes of Tangle hanging with the old man version of King Piccolo
I think it's just a part of things not being written with battle boarding in mind, I've gotten that check before haha.

I think there's one that you can count as vshit here and that'd be pokemon. I think the current legendary ratings are for the most part correct and I think that in many cases scaling trainers to legendaries despite the discrepancies is correct. There's just some much inconsistent shit in pokemon that if you don't give it leeway then its literally impossible to scale. You effectively scale by chosing the lesser of two evils.
Where do you scale trainers and only trainers, not their Mons?

that's the thing, we (I hope most of us at least) are fine with it. The issue is that Sega said its canon and now we're including it into the main canon scaling which throws a rock into both scalings

Eggman VS Bowser did not disappoint, easily their best episode of this current season so far.

I may not care that much about either Sonic and Mario, and i do think its was absolute fire.

And for the next time... yeah i guess it was going to happen eventually, just endure it and wait to see what its next.

Ngl, it's pretty bold of the site to have an accuracy thread
Depending on what verse you are a supporter of, you could see this site as the end all be all of scaling. If the verse you support is strong, has supporter mods, upgrades go through, then you'll probably view the site more highly, so the 'accuracy thread' isn't something you bat an eye at.

Then you have those who look at that thread and go 'pfft, like you have the right'

The trainers themselves vary a lot. Most are probably 10-A to 9-B (gym leaders casually jumping down from buildings, kids running up walls and shit like that is a common occurence) with 6-C durability cause....people just kinda live through attacks of bloodlusted pokemon somehow. It just happens because it just does. Some trainers, however, seem to be 6-C themselves by fighting pokemon in close combat like straight up. These are rare though, I can't even name a specific trainer, I just remember there being a few.

I mean ngl they probably dont intend base characters scale to those feats.
In fairness: they also say that Sonic characters don't grow in strength, yet recent games like Shadow Generations have Shadow overpowering Metal Ovelord when the latter was someone who fought against Super Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles in Sonic Heroes. So I think there's a big disconnect with author's intent vs what's actually depicted on screen.

It feels like DB finally lifted the inhibitors of only marvel ever getting 2-A scaling and are being more generous with the tier 2 ratings now. I kinda like it, still fear the fact that they'll probably scale Godzilla Ultima to universe level and ignore his higher dimensionality despite the point of the series being that he is higher dimensional.

that type of slop needs to be digestible

“Better late than never” ahh matchup
Not as late as ColeAlex thankfully.

Ngl, I do feel like Doom powers amped Shadow as well, and they got rid of them.

And now that time is fitting ig, I do agree Sonic has scaling problem after few years looking at it. IDW feats are significantly worse than Game feat scaling, the disperancy isnt good. If this continues its going to be even worse. Sonic never makes a dent anywhere meanwhile Shadow gets to wallop Metal ******* Overlord lol
