DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

This reminds me, what are the most requested DBs for the rematch? I was under the idea that Ben vs Hal was one.
Most of the controversial ones for one reason or another fall under it, Mewtwo v Shadow, Yang v Tifa, Peach v Zelda, Toph v Gaara, and Scout v Tracer are the most notable ones off the top of my head that fall under said category

Yea but ben shut down almost every argument he had for him LOL, I think he only won cause he bought uni metal where cell was like galaxy level
How Ben shut down uni metal?
Man they're really capitalizing on Sonic rn.
I want to say its kinda odd when ya think they do that when the movie comes out in December 20 to met more clicks but i guess to free themselves the holiday's

I meant Ben bought uni metal sonic, I don't remember the exact discussion but he said he only thinks metal and solaris are uni or something along those lines.

Would the Cosmology Map be far different from this one?

I've read some of your Digimon blogs, they are pretty good
Yeah, Konaka's map ends up being very similar to the general cosmology for Digimon, but as of now there are many structures that coexist and details that were introduced lately, so even though the general structure might be the same, the meaning might change (Like the Kernel, Dark Area, and all the layers to it).

Like, as of now there's a lot of evidence for Digimon working with general "physical places" being actually different space-time or even conceptual places, with barrier/sealed regions Digimon created being referred to as different dimensions, islands being called worlds, dimensions, and even the very sea being actually a gathering of fundamental information that keeps apart different worlds with different, time, space, and concepts. In fact, even houses, stores, and what more have statements as actually being abstract different worlds/space-times.

So even the scope of small stuff might actually be very big in potential in Digimon, sometimes it reminds me of how everything in franchises like TES that feels mundane, has a different cosmological meaning (Isn't the sea there stated to be time itself and traveling across it is meant to be like traveling across time? As of now the Net Ocean feels like that).

The FEB calc is higher than all of that, yes. Even the Colors Black Hole ended up higher than those calcs.
These black hole calcs are seemingly lowballed, so DB could get them higher. Ofc, in order for it to be MSS+, that black hole would have to be extremely gigantic, even distance of Earth to Sun gap is less than MSS, I doubt itd be that big?

I guess Ill take pity win if they say FEB would beat base Bowser.

I know the rule is 'Don't use previous episodes, any stat can and has changed', but the Dedede Vs. Wario Blackbox makes me feel Bowser won't be anything less than universal in base.

I can't call it for sure since the previews didn't say many stats yet, but I've got a gut feeling DB will stick to that black box here.

If they go for uni base Bowser Im feeling theyld use Culex and SPM Sammer Kingdom feat. Latter is likely best argument for it. former was apparently bad translation

I remember the Wario black box I THINK was a scaling chain to Rosalina and the Galaxy ending, but it wasn't easy to convey and didn't change the AP between him and Dedede so they black boxed it? That's just off the top of my head though...

I wonder if they'll stick to it or use something else.

Back then they contested it and said it was questionable and that similar leeway makes Dedede uni.

Popup: Wario has survived a dimensional collapse and possibly scales to a theoretically universal being; Rosalina. This is vague and ill-defined, though. Also, Dedede survived a similar dimensional collapse and battled Void Termina, a multiversal level threat!

It depends do they buy these now.

Ah, thank you! I was actually looking to get a screenshot of the popup instead, that's a lot nicer having it typed out.

I forgot that it was said as a possibly thing, and ill defined. I'll be interested to see if they're brought up as the main argument, supportive (and maybe even just black boxed), or not even mentioned and they no longer even buy them.

I have been completely wrong anticipating even black boxes before so...I'll just wait and feel this one out.
