DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (2024–2025) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Garou vs Kazuya is so cool just imagine the climax of the fight having them beat each other out of their transformations, forcing them to carry the fight out back in their base forms (Like the ending of Tekken 8)

It's a shame research for this (& Jamboree.) probably won't be implemented into this DB.

I posted some screenshots that I thought looked interesting here:

Basically, we can see the Mario Bros. flying through some kind of white, colourful void, & also, sometimes, in the background there are cutouts of other areas or individuals, as though they're being moved through space, time or memories?
Since the game is about connecting islands, I'm assuming space?

We can also see pink fissures on some ground & people running around, as if panicked by it, & at one point, the bros. falling towards what appears to be an expanding portal with an island on the other side?

There's also a scene where they're moving through a reddish-purplish void with sparkles behind them, then they start glowing.

It MIGHT matter for travel speed stuff.

Some gigawank here and there (lol at Ben's standard aliens being Immeasurable) but not a surprising result considering at her peak Gwen doesn't have DNA for Eve to manipulate

DB chose legit the best and worst time to do this matchup, truly.

I semi agree with this take, but I disagree with one things:

I don't understand why Matter Splatter Galaxy is considered 4-D because of the name of it and matter phasing in and out of existence in the level itself, I'd rather use shit like Culex from Super Mario RPG to justify 4-D shenanigans in Mario.

Other than that, it's perfectly fine. Though I am a little iffy on Bowser having more experience than Eggman since both are pretty relative in my eyes.

The Reddit post says "Is called a hyperspace or subspace in almost every translation and phases in and out like how a 3D space would in a 3D one.".
If the name is consistent in the original Japanese... plus, the visuals apparently align with how 4th dimensional geometry works?

& FWIW, it seems to be citing mission names rather than like, a level name.

Also, what do you mean Culex for 4-D? What did he do other than maybe gain a third dimension in his 3rd form?
IIRC, his speech about being beyond stuff was a decades old mistranslation, when compared with the original dialogue.

I'm wondering: What's the Paranormal Dimension? Some Luigi's Mansion thing?

Either way, it's neat to learn 9D Mario might be a thing, even if IDK about like.... Why would Dream Depot contain all the others? Every world is a dream? Then what about SMB2?
Or the Dream Worlds in Dream Team?
