The second Match celebrating Fallout's Upgrade to 8B+, our next match will be one I've wanted to make for a very long time. (As in, literally 2 years)

Speed is Equalized, ( >>62 Tons with a basic rifle vs >>>>>>>>>>>>18 tons)

Qrow Branwe: 6

Legate Lanius: 2

Skill, Superior Armor and I don't think the rest of Qrow's advantages alone covers the gap due to the above

I was geniuenely hoping you would ask

Legate Lanius was the leader of the legion and the right hand man of Caser prior to his death and was considered the Legions reaper and main weapon against that of the Northern Canadian Regime (NCR for short)

Trained from childhood to be the absolute best swordsman in the legion to the point that he was able to fully understand and comprehend how to use any weapon effectively up until he became the one to wield blade of the east, and the only one capable of fighting Courier 6, who required help to defeat him

Bear in mind the Courier himself in the canonroute of the game is considered the deadliest warrior in the wasteland and severely outclasses standard NCR ranger elites, the better of which can kill dozens of men with a single knife or snipe groups of people a quarter mile away while blinded by smoke.

Legate specifically beats Courier in terms of pure CQC as stated by the books, and is arguably the greatest fighter throughout Fallout history.

Qrow getting into Beacon through skill is great and was trained from a young age presumably, but that's where it really ends aside from training RWBY which is more of a feat of teaching and not pure skill.

Actually no, the whole point is that Qrow WASNT trained as a kid, he became skilled enough to get into Beacon from his own skill that he gained without any formal training whatsoever.

Under Ozpin Qrow became skilled to the point that he's considered one of the greatest huntsmen in the world, to the point that he is able to work exclusively solo missions deep in grimm infested enemy territory for months at a time, can fight one of the most skilled combat specialists in Atlas while drunk, and is dangerous enough that Salem and her faction view him as a legitimate threat.

Qrow also has far better range and the willingness to abuse it

Also passive bad luck which will seriously screw over Lanius

I mean working within Grimm infested territory isn't much of a feat as most Grimm are 8C to High 8C.

Qrow's only ranged weapon is a shotgun, by comparison to the shit Lamijs had to deal with from Courier and other NCR rangers, that's not that bad.

Actually no, Qrow is capable of using precision air slashes as ranged attacks as well, but his shotgun is actually pretty damn accurate, there's very little spread to the shots and they explode.

>>62 Tons with a basic rifle

I don't think you can reasonably say Qrow's scaling chain takes him high enough to where this won't be a huge issue for him.

Going by the back and forth between Gargoyle and Weekly, I'd say they're fairly evenly matched in terms of skill and training.

Going to vote Lanius for now.

@Dargoo Lanius doesnt use a rifle though he only has a sword and five incendiary grenades

He's 2, maybe 3x stronger but he has no answer to Qrow's range game

Gonna lean to Qrow on this one, his bad luck semblance if it works correctly should tip the scales in his favour leaving Lanius exposed to a good blow from Qrow. Given that they are fairly even in skills it seems so it would hinge on how smart Qrow battles and if bad luck kicks in. That being said Legate could seriously mess Qrow up with his AP, aura or not. I say Qrow with high difficulty.

How Smart Qrow is compared to Legate was already discussed, and due to the AP and Dura disadvantage one good hit won't be enough due to his armor

Vote counted regardless

So

Lemme get this straight

Legate is fighting a dude

Who's basically another dude he already fought

But has super low AP and Bad Luck mojo

Okay

Bad Luck Mojo isn't going to get by that AP advantage, especially considering Sembalences have time limits and will eventually run out of juice to work with.

So, Legate for reasons above (by which reasons are mine)

Uh...semblances dont hive time limits. Qrow's is passive and always active, even if his aura goes down. Plus just going to point out that the AP gap here is the same as the ap gap between Qrow and Joseph and Qrow stalemated.

Scans or it didn't happen

Also... Yeah, maybe I got mixed up with how Yangs' works or something, either way, bad luck didn't save him from getting stabbed with poison, and it ain't Saving him from getting his head cut off with a greatsword.

I don't know what was up in the Joseph fight and frankly, I don't care. Qrow's not fighting him right now, and I'm not going to hold him to whatever rules were unspokenly made in that thread. He's fighting a new opponent with new skills here.

https://youtu.be/g91qG3qTaXE?t=1

Aura is protecting him from getting his head cut off as well as the ability to fly and keep his distance with ranged attacks. And bad luck got Tyrian's tail cut off and had a building collapse on him

You should care honestly because the AP gap is the same here as it was there and it was decided that AP alone wouldnt be enough to beat Qrow as the gap is only ~2x

Legate already fought a ranged spammer on his level of AP and was completely even.

Luck does not beat skill and power, what could happen doesn't beat what indeed is the case.

I will agree, he definitely has a fair shot, but Legate has just in general better everything, and Inevitably, luck will fail Qrow. More likely then not at least.

@DMUA You mean the fight against the range spammer that ended in Legate's death? That fight?

Its already been determined that theyre equal in skill and the gap in power is only 2x. And actually Qrow's luck does in fact beat skill, his bad luck made it so Ruby, a master sniper who is an expert at pulling off precision trick shots while swinging around her sniper scythe like crazy, couldnt hit a stationary target from close range.

Legate really doesnt have better everything, the only thing he has that is superior to Qrow is AP. Skill-wise theyre equal, Qrow has far more ranged options, is far more mobile, has a far more versatile and deadly weapon, has regen, is physically (Lifting Strength) stronger, has better senses, has passive bad luck, and can fly.

@Weekly

Courier had help from other NCR Rangers/Elites, saying "He died that fight" isn't a good example, especially since comparing Qrow's supposed range spam even though I've never seen him do it except once with Winter compared to that of a dude stocked with explosive anti material rifles, Lazer Rifles etc etc.

It wasn't a simple kill Also of course Legate doesn't have save Scumming

Did she shoot for over a long period of combat, say, 20 minutes?

He has bullets that will mostly just bounce off, Flight he never uses all that much, has a better rating in a nigh useless stat, has a better not very useful ability and an actually useful ability that can't save him forever.

Good to know.

Not vote changing though.

A little bit, but he's mostly hand to hand And occasionally ballerina twirls as he's fighting

@DMUA The excess amount of videos of Legate being killed in a few shots say otherwise.

No but Legate doesnt last that long so the point is moot.

8-B explosive buckshot rounds that are only 2x weaker wont just bounce off and neither will his air slashes, Flight he's used in two of the three fights we've seen him in, its not nigh useless in a physical fight when youre clashing swords trying to overpower the opponent through strength, Qrow's ability has gotten everyone around him killed and it does in fact last forever so i find it genuinely funny that you think its useless and only lasts a limited time.

I'm willing to bet that's something along the lines of an "OP Shotgun" build or something just extremely more powerful then 62 Tons basic rifles

When you are Striking something, it's Striking Strength, when you are Lifting something, it's Lifting Strength. That description of this fight is the former and not to the favor of Qrow.

>Everyone around him killed

I mean unless Plot armor is Canon Ruby and the rest of the people around Qrow for awhile (longer then 20 minutes might I note again) after the Timeskip live to beg to differ.

@Garg Qrow has used his range in every fight we've seen him in, even against Tyrian
Oh you meant using his range not abusing it

Okay, that makes more sense

@DMUA Legate being killed with a handgun in a few shots (A Light Shining in the Darkness to be specific, a weapon that cannot be modified and is only a bit stronger than a normal pistol)

When you are in a blade clash you are pushing, not striking. Also looking at the way Legate fights in more videos i found, his combat style is very straightforward and predictable, Qrow should be able to easily outmanuver him in melee combat.

Yes everyone around his was killed, its what got his sister killed and what caused him to disband his team and start working solely on solo missions for Ozpin because if he worked on a team they would end up dead or severely injured. Beg all you want but this is fact.

You mean the thing where he was unloading several clips of ammo on the guy's skull while running the heck in the opposite direction with a gun a bit beefier then Crow's?

Game mechanics are fun to abuse ay? You saw Gar's description of his skill, even if his fighting appears simplistic, the guy using it sure ain't someone you can just run away from and unload on when we're not fighting in a game with a company that honestly just doesn't have a good fighting system. Lest, in melee.

Maybe in a shoving contest but Blade locking isn't something Legate would be approving of for very long.

You mean those people he fought with for years when this will be settled in much shorter time?
