If your suggesting that each JoJo has a curse of being unlucky, then you're wrong. Joseph is the only Joestar up until his part who was not murdered or killed. He is the only one we've got to see live a long life. He went senile before his affair came out, how lucky is that?

Just because he is a strategist doesn't mean he can't be a fighter. The two aren't mutally exclusive. His hot-headed temper will get the best of him, until he actively goes out of his way to beat the shit out of Qrow. In his old age he literally smashes his foot into the shin of a japanese guy because he was japanese.

Hermit Purple and Hamon arent useless. Hamon bypasses aura altogether. Joseph is x3 stronger than Qrow. He might be a strategist but he commonly abuses his strength against those who piss him off in Battle Tendency, and even in his old age. (His old age at the end of BT)
