So after Ichigo defeated Ywhach, Zangetsu stayed in it’s “True Zangetsu” form, that's cool to know, however I am still confused as to what the True Zangetsu form really is

Here’s my head canon on it.

It’s the final stage of the Zanpakuto for Zangetsu (just like Aizen’s Zanpakuto at the end of the series). I say this for two reason: A) it’s called the Zangetsu Within and we know that when Aizen evolved his KS to the final stage it fused within him, B) the character in game also pulls Zangetsu from thin air just like Aizen does in the TYBW.

Evidence A comes from the card description for TB Ichigo in BBS and Evidence B is from the character model in BBS. So funny enough I’ve only got this theory due to BBS.

It's called a mess and Kubo doesn't want to explain it so he just brushes it aside and lets everyone just roll with it until he inevitably re does Ichigo's design into something else

Big brain theory right, what if the reason True Bankai Ichigo did so well against Yhwach was because he wasn’t fighting with his True Bankai but he was fighting with the Zangetsu Within from the start!?

Assuming the Zangetsu Within (the assumed final stage of Zangetsu) is the strongest form this would explain some things. First, it explains how Ichigo was able to go from having his TB HoS broken to only having the outer shell broken. Second, Yhwach not being able to destroy it is explained away by it not being a Bankai, after all Yhwach said he destroyed all Bankai in the future. Third, it being the final stage would explain the perceived surge in power. Fourth, it explains why Ichigo didn’t use his hollow horn after Tsukishima gave him his powers back by restoring his Bankai; since Zangetsu Within should contain all of Ichigo’s powers (as seen with how Ichidad doesn’t utilize a hollow form) there would obviously be no hollow transformation if he’s been wielding all his power from the get go. Last thing, Ichigo’s Getsuga in the Aizen/Ichigo vs Yhwach fight is white (his white attacks are blue in the anime) and Ichidad’s Getsuga is blue, also in game TB Ichigo’s Getsuga is purple not white/blue. So I’m theorizing that the Zangetsu Ichigo brought with him through the portal was the Zangetsu Within and not his True Bankai.

Obviously this is all speculation, but it’s a thought that popped into my head.

for bankai ichigo and merged hollow scaling

also for merged hollow another justification can be added with yhwach saying his power is magnificent and he can no longer be off guard

for aizen it should be added that "tanked an attack from post sk/mimihagi absorbed allmighty yhwach that destroyed his chair" and "aizen was confident in taking on yhwach and stated he can stop him after directly witnessing his attack that destroyed the chair and sensing his battle with ichigo" or "yhwach was constantly on guard and using his allmighty against aizen like he did with merged hollow ichigo"

Why would We? Unless we do make a BBS Ichigo profile at least because Canon wise it is unnecessary since in Canon Epilogue Ichigo does nothing and neither anyone else for that matter aside from Kazui, Byakuya and Suì-Feng who fought the Yhwach remnant

Maybe because after the Soul Society Arc, Ichigo and Rukia have very little screen time together at all... Like I don’t remember a single prominent scene of them together in the Thousand Year Blood War, not to mention Ichigo is a minor and she’s 100+ years old

Frankly I blame the Anime for baiting the Ichigo x Rukia fans when the Manga clearly established that their relationship was a close friendship

Wasn't Ichigo like...Unconscious when Yhwach said That? So that would never make sense and it is a out of character decision by Ichigo since I'm fairly certain he would commit suicide over making any of his friends miserable

I totally think we should make a BBS/game/extended universe page for Ichigo seeing as how he has 5 forms that aren't from the manga: 2nd Anniversary, Skull-Clad (Hell Verse), New Years 2019 (Quincy), 5th Anniversary, and 10 Years Later (Dad). It would have more keys than Post-TS Ichigo's profile lol. Plus all 5 of those versions of the character are easily scaleable.

Maybe I'll put together a sandbox and see what people think in the future.

I will say, most of those scans seem to talk about Yhwach after absorbing Soul King. Since he only starts putting that plan into action after doing that, got any that refer to simply Allmigghty Yhwach before all the absorbing?

I think Matt will try to downgrade it but I don’t know if it will succeed since even Damage was fine with it. Also just how big that thread was makes it unlikely that people want to do it again.

Askin should since he was there.

Yhwach makes some claims about it before he absorbed them, and it's debatable if absorbing was part of the plan originally since he brought Ichigo up to straight up kill the SK but Yoruichi and Mimihagi got in the way.

Ganju didn't witness Yhwach absorb.

I don't think so, but Yhwach specifically absorbs the soul king, is shown to apparently get a power boost of some form from it and then he starts heading off to actually get to work on destroying stuff. It looks like that was his plan all along.

Heck there is even the Desert Society Ichigo who has a somewhat different personality too, like him not appearing to be a prude for one

Also to point out this, New Year Ichigo would actually be the strongest form of those (Maybe only second to Dad Ichigo), since despite we calling him "Quincy Ichigo" for short because he has a bow, it is actually Ichigo using all of his powers simultaneously.

Yup, New Year Ichigo is stated as him using "all of his latent powers" at once while 5th Anni Ichigo is stated as being Ichigo combining his Soul/Hollow powers with the full potential of his Fullbring powers. Which in that case i imagine would make New Year Ichigo be the superior form.

Depends on how you interpret “full potential” if you apply it to just his Fullbring powers yeah, but if you take it as a broader statement then it’s potentially on par if not stronger.

Because 5th Anni Ichigo still has all his Shinigami/Hollow and Quincy powers due to Rukia’s statement. So 5th Anni Ichigo might be just like New Years Version + Fullbring.
