A Country Divided (Redux) • RP Thread

The masked figure overheard the conversation as she delved further into the village, noting the tree mounted on Vera's back in her head.

"If it's arrows you need, then you don't have to carve them." She said, "I've got plenty of high-quality ammunition. Arrows, bullets, and cannonballs alike... for a generous fee."
(Cloaker noise.)

We have flankers people! Palaria, Nigredo, and Kaminos, on me!" Vera called out, pulling half of The Order of Reunification to guard the rear while the majority of the power players and scouts took the front "If you can't run to me for healing, get one of the villagers to perform first aid!"
Nigredo quite literally faded into obscurity upon that order. The moment she stepped within a few meters of Vera, getting close enough to serve as a rear guard, she disappeared into... seemingly nowhere, as if she hadn't been standing there to begin with. One could assume she was still within the general area, waiting to ambush the enemy. If Vera focused to her utmost she would hear the rustling of Nigredo's cloak in the wind; she was there.

"...moron..." Vera muttered under her breath as she heard and watched Santiago, before she glanced at the direction Nigredo disappeared at, actually a little shaken and surprised she could seemingly go invisible, but caught herself before it was too late

"Rassilon, you're the messenger, that means I want you keeping an eye on one front, then the other, and if one needs support, jump in and help!" Vera commanded before drawing her twin katanas and rushing off to the flank...

Palaria glanced at Kaminos, hoping he'd be sufficient frontline for them, before flying after Vera, falling a little behind the rushing Medic...

On the front line, shadowy and scaley creatures rushed from the forest line, but some seemed to have fur or stand on two legs... and Rubedo? She was in the thick of it as soon as they showed up, a dance of destruction where she wasn't touched by man or beast in her swings of her oversized weapon
"Ooh, I guess it's time to test our luck!" Kumi said.

Meanwhile, as Kaminos approached, his body instinctively pivoted direction, and his nose caught a peculiar scent. Drawing his weapons, he turned toward what was chasing them.

"*Ts'hūeūto?" He asked.
(I need you.)

Rassilon understood and began to run with weapon in hand, any enemy that approached around him would be shot down, he have to check the locations one by one, help where he could, if someone was in trouble he have to save them, a task complicated but he likes challenges.

"I can do this" he tell to himself while running

Santiago 'subtly' hid behind the chimney of one of the houses, glancing cautiously as the monstrous creatures scrambled towards the frontline. He slowly lowered a hand, his fingers wrapping a knife kept fastened to his belt.

"...Alright...alright. These folk look...real strong. Bet they could take care of 'em all before they reach me. Hopefully...maybe..." Santiago took a cautious step backward, grip tightening on his blade. The spear he had picked up early lay nearby, ready to use, should he need it.

(Sorry I took so long!)

Kaminos hurled up a ball of magma, cutting it with Brygmos. The vibrating air pierced through it, causing volcanic orbs to hurdle down at some of the creatures. The half-orc took out his weapons once more, now approaching and decimating the creatures that approached him. Slamming down Klauthmos, bursts of fire and magma erupt from the ground. Taking his boot and digging it into the small volcanic geyser he created, he swings his leg around with a flaming kick to break the neck of one behind him, all before using Brygmos to send now ignited air towards to more, splitting them in half with scorched flesh.

"Sure are a lot of them..." Kaminos said, albeit relatively unconcerned.

Enemies. So many enemies. Enemies, stacked together like a blanket of... flesh. And skin. And bones. And flesh. Flesh. $Leésh. Fl·les...

An enemy approaches... 10 meters, close. 8 meters. 7 meters. 4 meters. 3 meters— it's head flies into the air. It flies high, high, high, hiiiiiighhhh into the s̶̙̿k̷̖͋y̵̟̾. Another enemy approaches. It's arms and legs DROP! All 4 limbs, seemingly popped off. It's a torso now, immobile.

An enemy attacks, but it's target has disappeared into the darkness— no, rather, disappeared into the light. Where did it go? It was there merely a moment ago... but now it's gooooooooonnnnnneeeeee.... it's... POOF! Where did the enemy's head go? It fell to the ground, and it's in Itty bitty pieces. Those pieces, turned to pieces. Those pieces, turned to pieces. Those pieces, turned to pieces. Until it's a nice, slurry mess.

The target stares intently at the enemies, as they collect themselves in a haphazard formation. These things are separated into two groups: target, and enemy. A simple, shallow relationship. The enemies attacks the target, and the target retaliated. The enemy claws at the target, and the target, with a sharpened nail, slices a dozen enemies in twane with a blinding movement. The target watches their blood fly into the air— and they watch it cascade down, like rain. The target bathes in their blood. They taste the blood. They live in the blood. The blood makes them strong.

...

The creature in the dirty cloak rips the enemy to shreds with it's large, bare hands, until there is no more left to shred.

Where one fell, two more came from the woods like an endless tide of shadowy tooth and claw. Weak, for sure, but definitely not a non-threat.

"There's gotta be a core somewhere!" Palaria yelled out, barely managing to keep any foothold on the grass as she bounced back. The winds turned around her as a cyclone, lashing out at several shadow beasts, cutting through flesh that dissolved into nothing, but they kept coming and coming. Sure, they could keep this up for a little bit at least, but how long until they were overwhelmed?

"Push into them! 'DEATH DEALER!' Get everyone into position--" Vera began to yell out as she cut down two Shards of pure shadow shot at her, forcing the medic to roll back to avoid an injury

"Caster!" Palaria caterwauled a warning to everyone, who had their own targets dissolve just as fast.

Rubedo was still wreaking hell in the front, the homunculus requiring only a bit of proper aid to hold the entire line it seemed... now holding the line without damaging the area was another issue, with craters and cut down trees beginning to populate the area of the black-faced beauty

At the sky was Caitlin, dropping down as she swung her sword- now lit in flames- before she made an arc that caused a pillar of fire to descend from the clouds. On the exact same time, she rushed towards several targets - with a ghastly figure accompanying her attacks. Synchronized.

Kaminos continued to mow enemies down, leaving ashes of their remains to blow in the wind as he yelled toward his allies to move into their proper positions.

"'Mmoo'zh! 'Nnoo'ts!" He shouted instinctively in Orc before translating, "Move, now!"

Rassilon dealt with those who tried to disperse, killing them from a distance with falconry shots from a semi-automatic crossbow.

Death Dealer, let out a breath, inwardly glad he was given the task of positioning instead of fighting. Hurriedly, he jumped onto a nearby roof, stumbling slightly as he landed. He righted himself, before taking a deep breath: "Anyone who can shoot ah bow, fall in!" He shouted out to any villager that hadn't evacuated or otherwise fled. "Grab as many arrows as you can carry and take position on the rooftops!"

Strangely, the shadow creatures faded into a darkness over the battlefield of the rear line of the village, obscuring the vision of the villagers who'd climbed where Santiago had put them, confused on whether to open fire or not.

"Get me a light!" Vera called out, her tone and glances around showed her as on-edge...

Palaria lifted a hand, a ball of light forming in it to light up the area. Just enough for a figure moving behind the young mage to be noticed by the attentive among those looking in Palaria's direction

The front lines however, were going amazingly, it was a one-sided massacre between the arrows, Rubedo, and Caitlin working as a blender
