DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

That will change
True, but keep in mind it took a fan vote to make it happen...

Too bad its a completely unoriginal 1 to 1 riff, lol
I am just gonna point out, havent you seen any series that does a 1:1 or close to it from another? Like how many other animes for example made 1:1 shots to dragon ball, jojo and so on or you saw a video game pull a scene thats similar to another one

I seen plenty for more then a decade

Like hell Death Battle also does sometimes 1:1 shots in their battles from scenes in their respective franchises

Bayonetta and Clive fights with Dante literally animates scenes from latter games 1:1 or close to it, we gonna call them unoriginal for doing so?

The difference is that those are minor references that are only there for a couple of seconds at a time, while this is a whole ass scene copied movement for movement. It feels lazy, not as a reference but as a straight riff.

Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we have a winner.

**** us all.

I've been on the fence about this for awhile now, but seeing as how I'm working again and I don't mind collecting stuff, I think I'm going to start buying my shit physically and learning how to burn it into HDDs for future usage.

Better safe than sorry, you could say.

I am. Wouldn't call myself a massive fan, but I know a decent chunk about RWBY.
So there’s this series called deadlock and I wanted to find an MU from RWBY for a character by the name of Grey Talon.

  • Basically he founded a monster hunting collective called the Baxter Society.
  • He’s retired but his son and his son’s family are killed in a targeted hate crime from a hate group called the friends of humanity.
  • He ends up hunting down members of the friends of Humanity and ends up joining a ritual(the main gameplay of the story) to summon the patrons to grant his wish of killing their leader
  • He has a bow and owl spirit to help him in battle

Its really no different from animes doing a 1:1 scene from another series

Also they gave them permission for it

Also no, your argument of "its minor references for a couple seconds" is not working, remember the scene Star Platinum punches the hag zombified people in 3 places at once? Same exact replication from Kenshiro doing the same to a foe punching in multiple places at once exactly like that

Me personally, that kinda reminds me of Adam Taurus. Just without the clingy ex-boyfriend part.

While it is good they got permission, it still feels cheap and lazy to an extreme degree

Uh, yeah, minor reference for a couple of seconds, which is what that was. Don't know how you think this counters my point.

I gotta wonder how close Tengu Shredder Vs. Ryu Hayabusa actually is, because it feels like Tengu Shredder's hax is honestly lacking in the VSBattles page. Anyone got insight on if that's close or a stomp?
Depends on if Ryu can deal with his Domain Expansion.

Alright sick, what’s the gist with him?
He's a Faunus (a race of people with animal traits) whose obsessed with dominating humanity due to how much humanity has discriminated against his people. He was a prominent member of the White Fang terrorist organization, eventually becoming its leader following a successful coup only to then get ousted from the group following his failure during the Battle of Haven. After that, he decides to hunt down his former partner Blake Belladonna, who had left the White Fang prior to the start of the series and contributed to his defeat at Haven, only to then be killed by both her and her teammate Yang Xiao Long. His weapons are Wilt and Blush, respectively a Japanese chokutō and a rifle that also functions as the former's scabbard. He needs these in order to use his Semblance Moonslice, where he absorbs the energy from enemy attacks and re-emits it as a powerful energy strike or use it to increase his speed and strength. That's pretty much all stuff I got from his page here on the wiki, if you want me to just link that for good measure.

I f with it heavily

Milagro Man vs Mr Krabs is funny

You literally complain for having a 1:1 reference which from the count is 25 or so seconds

Also thats just an example had for the moment, there are far longer scenes of other series replicating stuff in fiction yet you complain the netflix dmc doing a scene they asked permission

At least complain if Lady says f*ck every 1 second in a sentence instead of that, its literally no different from another show doing it
