DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

So Spider-Man will forever remain single? Never he its allowed to have a family? But alone and at best having only his aunt around?

Jesus if they are trying to convince Marvel fans to stop reading their comics, they are succeeding.

Since now we know Nomus are being brought into the fight, I actually have a new question regarding this matchup:

It's a no brainer that the Nomus can utterly destroy any of Mahito's transfigured humans. It was never even a concern if Shiggy had to fight them himself since they don't need CE to destroy and he could just Decay AoE to wipe them all out with minimal effort, but I don't actually know if Mahito could do the same to the Nomus. Mostly because I don't think we have any evidence to suggest Nomus would even have souls for him to Idle Transfigure.

Granted I also don't think that'd mean that Mahito would be Nomu fodder since they probably wouldn't be able to affect him, but then it'd mean that Mahito loses yet another category in the 'deployable army' department, which I do find pretty funny.

If this guy is in a relationship/marriage with a woman, the asshole part of me sincerely hopes that they end up breaking up or divorcing so he can see it what it must be like to be Peter.

But for real, what a load of absolute garbage. I get that one of Spider-Man's appeals as a character is he's meant to be relatable in terms of his day to day struggles, but you'd think that Marvel would get that fans of Spider-Man can also get married and grow in terms of character.

By the way, when it was officially announced that Shigaraki vs. Mahito was the next Death Battle, I set a goal to read all of Jujutsu Kaisen.
I managed to finish it the day before yesterday (not ZERO, because my brother wanted me to watch the movie with him) and I have to say...

It wasn't bad. There were parts of the energy system I didn't understand (the effect of rushing the entire series in basically two weeks) and fights whose choreography I couldn't follow very well (again, I READ it, meaning the manga) and sometimes arcs drag on and at the last minute they want to hype up a character, or throw in a plot twist (Sukuna's fight being probably the most guilty of this, although it was inevitable considering what needed to be covered).
But there are some characters I really liked (Maki for the win), interesting abilities that accompanied them (ironically not Maki), some very spontaneous humor and a pretty well done worldbuilding. But I don't think it's totally my style.
It was entertaining, but in the end, I prefer something like My Hero Academia or Iruma-Kun.

He did crafted and gave a nice smoking pipe to Jogo (another disaster cursed spirit) in the true spirit of camaraderie, so he's not all bad right???

Granted the pipe was made out of a (still "living") transfigured human with his brain exposed, so...
I had forgotten about that... Shigaraki, please kill him.

  • It takes place in the 60's.
  • Godzilla somehow came back after being killed by the Oxygen Destroyer.
  • The Fantastic Four do actually pretty well against Godzilla, tho Sue had to use her full power to block the atomic breath.
  • Herald King Ghidorah is stronger than Silver Surfer.
  • Godzilla gains the Power Cosmic from Silver Surfer and has a new form, "Cosmic Godzilla".
  • Herald Ghidorah overwhelms Cosmic Godzilla until the Fantastic Four comes to aid.
  • Sue makes a giant projection of the Thing to distract Ghidorah.
  • Godzilla blends his atomic breath with the Power Cosmic with "power enough to kill the gods. and knocks the Power Cosmic out of Ghidorah.
  • Godzilla vs. Galactus is teased at the end.

Morning chat.

Nah ShiGOATraki's got this.

No, you will see him miserable and enjoy it.

This is interesting coming from a company that is consistently bleeding readers and only continues to exist cause Disney runs their movie properties.

Looks like we could be getting the old X-Men cast coming back for Doomsday/Secret Wars.
At the moment

Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Letita Wright (Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Wyatt Russell (U.S Agent), Tenoch Huerta Mejía (Namor), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Lewis Pullman (The Sentry), Danny Ramirez (Falcon), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Winston Duke (M'Baku), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Professor Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto), and Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler)
