I’m just here to say that Post Namek Toei Goku does not spare his enemies for the heck of it, he learned his lesson from Freeza. Look at his track record. He wanted Cell dead, he killed Yakkon immediately, killed Kid Buu and all the the movie villains, and murked all the GT villains.
The only Post-Namek movies that are canon are Cooler and Janemba.
He was going to let Cooler get away if he left the Earth instead of going for a Supernova to blow it up and for the majority of his fight with Janemba lad was using SSJ2
The first GT Villain (Ledgic) was spared, mostly because Goku wanted to fight him again in the future

Well because they have done something terrible? Saitama looks 100% like a normal Earthling human to Goku and he hasn't done anything like those guys did. I don't know if his interactions with Saitama will be the same as the guys you mentioned.

Goku would defend himself as needed if he feels Saitama’s energy rapidly rising and knows he’s trying to harm him

He is coming to kill goku this isnt a friendly spar that after they finish battling each other would go to supermarket for a sale or a restaurant to eat

No, it makes him assume Saitama is a threat to him, not that he did anything
State of mind: In character, but will attempt to win the battle. Characters will not give up of their own accord. That means a character that is uninterested or sees no chance of winning won't simply leave and characters wouldn't simply become friends with each other. This doesn't prevent a character being made to give up, because the other character manipulates them via things like, for example, mind control, fear inducement, psychological tricks or superhuman charisma.
Each character will view their opponents as enemies, who they have to assume wish to cause them severe harm such that losing could have any range of dire consequences. The characters will assume their opponents have not been forced into battle. They are assumed to have decided from free will to fight and are not excused by a just cause, difficult times or otherwise exonerating circumstances. Furthermore, the situation is assumed one where the opponents are not protected by social norms or consequences, such as being a civilian protected by law.

When there’s been severe consequences and things on the line Goku has killed his opponents.

Vegeta tho

seriously tho, this doesn't connect to what i said at all, nor did i ever questioned what you just said

They view their opponent as a serious threat who’s attempting to give them severe harm and losing will give severe consequences. So there’s a cost for Goku not winning the fight.

Again, not what i questioned, so you once again said nothing that covers what i said, and said something i never spoke against to begin with

Ledgic wasn't the main villain of that planet it was it's ruler, Ledgic was a 'bodyguard' that couldn't be ordered around by the ruler and that refused to be bribed by money. He even states that he was interested in fighting Goku and the gang not to help the Planet's dictator, but just because he wanted to. So he was neither evil nor a threat to Goku and his friends' lives, hence why he wasn't killed
Goku was only SSJ2 against Fat Janemba, the creature that acted like an innocent kid with powers. He was playing around with him at first, he literally told him that they were playing tag to get him from Enma's down to Hell. Even with his innocence in mind, once he figured out how strong and potentially dangerous he was he immediately went SSJ3 and 'killed' Fat Janemba.
As for Cooler, I tried to look for the scene you mentioned but could find nothing like it, instead I found that the complete opposite is said before Cooler threatens the Earth with a Supernova. Could you show me the scans?

Can saitama feel goku's power I mean he would only opt for time travel if he sensed that goku could one shot him if not then goku would just transform and since saitama has now way of telling how strong he might have become would just go with his usual punches and would get one shotted

The most I can see is telepathy but doesn’t seem it’ll help since it was just him hearing someone else’s telepathic conversation

Ok so I’ve counted 7 Saitama votes and 9 Goku votes. Problem I’ve noticed is a lot of people make arguments but don’t specify that they’re voting so I might’ve counted some people who had no intention. If anyone wants I can list the names I wrote

how much time has passed since the last vote?

That just says he isn’t afraid of taking damage and only cares about winning. In every fight even when he was pissed off, his first instinct is just to punch. I can get if you think it falls under speed blitz though
The fight was already over before Saitama could learn time travel so it's irrelevant to bring up he didn't use it against Garou

Fair, still I don’t think it makes sense. Besides him always punching, from what I can tell he needs to build up power for the time travel punch to actually matter. So if Goku recognizes his power growth and works to finish him within minutes at most, where’s that growth coming from?
