If Goku is in-character then I could see this being a fight where Saitama fights base, grows strong enough to fight SSJ, then grows strong enough for SSJ2 and so on.

Which would be really cool.

By the time Saitama reaches ssj his growth would probably outpace any transformation in an instant
but because bloodlusted, it wouldn't get that far

If Goku jobs and doesn't transform into SSJs instantly, he kinda gets one-shotted by a bloodlusted Saitama very quickly. If he realises how fast Saitama's growth is and decides to end the fight quickly he will win.

However, if we accept his mental state being that "No, Goku will not try to kill his opponents this fast and will allow them to become stronger, reach their fullest potential, etc..." then this is just unfair to Goku.

Can Goku use the Kaioken? If so, he can increase his AP and speed at the right rate and become superior to Saitama.

He already did that against Vegeta in saiyajin saga.

Voting Saitama FRA + SBA assumes Goku's in-character if not bloodlusted. He's just gonna job until it's too late

Link/reasoning?
Sba has characters in the mind set the other character has caused them great harm and will have extremely major consequnces if they lose, in this case Goku sees Satiama as either Frieza or Cell

No SBA definitely doesn't make Goku see Saitama as Frieza

Also even against "bad new", Goku never immediately transforms and one-shots
He didn't do so against the Gohan Clone inside Buu, spent most of the fight in Base
He fought Kid Buu in SSJ2 (For an entire episode)
Only pulled SSJ3 against Hirudegarn after everyone was out of commission, even as he was getting stomped for the majority of the fight
And literally all of the first half of GT (Ledgic to the Sigma Force) is him holding back against foes he could easily one-shot in Base

Not sure why Goku would not transform ASAP. Dude can sense Power Levels so he knows that Saitama is growing, he can also sense malice and killing intent. Besides, wasn’t Saitama growth was because of an emotional surge? He won’t have that here obviously, he won’t nearly grow as fast as he did vs Garou.

He could fight on bar with them in his base, why would he need to transform, besides he have a bigger threat which he have to fight later on, which is Buu.
SSJ3 causes his stamina to drop an immense amount in like a minute or two, that’s why he hesitate to use it and only use it as his last option.
He oneshot the Ginyu Force, Yami (the monster on Babidi ship),King Piccolo, vaporized half of Perfect Cell’s body when he realizes they have bad intentions.

Ok both have ways to get stronger in a fight but saitama is going to outpace goku if this drags out for too long (and very quickly mind you).

I am pretty sure Z Goku plays around less the lets say Super's Goku. He would be more likely to transfom to SSJ or higher once he notices saitama rapid strength growth. In the janemba fight he transformed from SSJ to SSJ3 once he realises how dangerous he is. Sure he tests people's strength but in the namek saga he knocks out Recoome immediately and quickly beats burter. He used Kaioken times 3 once he realises Vegeta could still overwhelmed him even when he used Kaioken.

One issue however is Saitama's Time Punch which would KO an offguard base Goku. I don't think Saitama would automatically use it immediately + it takes a few seconds.

I wonder which in-character mindset is more stupid between them.

One holds back and allows his opponents to power up and fight with their best abilities while the other just decides to face-tank whatever throws at him first before striking back...

Did anyone else vote?

Goku letting Saitama grow stronger doesn't mean he's gonna let him outgrow him
I mean, sure, but Saitama's growth is exponential lol. By the time he reaches a SSJ transformation it's pretty much over for Goku I would say.
