"I would assume the steering system would have a compass I just think I should have one to check in case it gets messed up. Things I carry in my pocket dimension don't deteriorate so I have one it would be a good baseline to keep in mind. As long as we don't stumble upon a powerful magnet it should be safe that said I should probably have a look at these systems before I make any more assumptions." I say before going over to check.

The steering did have a Compass, although it was skipping around to point north, it was clear there was a lot of boat movement that the steering system was dealing with, although Magnus seemed to be tired as he got up and unscathed Ace to begin at least trying to work on his form, determination to become stronger in his eyes "I have a compass on me if things don't go well." Mgnus said absent-mindedly

Angelica observed the compass from afar, squinting her eyes. As she said, her navigation skills were extremely basic, but the swordswoman felt it appropriate to at least try in-case her "skills" were ever needed. She was the type to account for most unfavorable scenarios, and should the better navigators injure themselves or find themselves unable to navigate, she mentally kept herself on reserve.

"We're going to be tangling with basically every notable pirate out there, at least that are still alive and not imprisoned, like Bones D. Icefist[1]" Magnus said, turning and sliding down the stairs of the ship "that means getting stronger is a necessity, if it wasn't obvious."
[Bones D. Icefist is a legendary pirate that was mainly at large 20 years before the events of the story, and has broken out of prison so many times and reclaimed territories to the point where measures are in place to immediately seek and detain him when he breaks out, most notably with the hero of the navy, the one who originally took him down in a battle that lasted ten days and ten nights.]

"I don't, not yet, part of the reason we're going here is becuase I need an Angel fruit to boost my power faster and because there is a couple select individuals I want to add to the crew." Magnus said
"Although this will be dangerous seeing as there's two big names in the marines that will also be there, one of who's ship has the Angel fruit I'm going for which will be fun."
