Unpopular Opinions and (Friendly) Rant thread

Godzilla 1998 is only hated because it's supposed to be Godzilla. It's a solid 6/10 movie imo, maybe a 7/10 kaiju movie
You gotta admit the design of Godzilla looked like shit in that movie

The objectively correct Drake discography tier list:

CLB should be bottom 3 but not a bad list
List is in no specific order, but even then idk if I'd put CLB in bottom 3.

What A Time To Be Alive should be B tier
Views should at least be A tier Views is probably in my top 3 or 5 Drake albums

solid list tho
WATTBA is an album I have a lot of nostalgia for. Views was around the time when Drake started getting more and more complacent with his projects imo.

The weirdest thing to me here is honestly just watch you picked for this list. Why are his first 2 mixtape albums not here but the rest are? Did you not include any EPs and only put LPs on purpose? (I guess that makes sense). Just a little odd to me.

I didn't make the list tbf.

Hell it’s a little recent but why not Bluey? That shit is insanely popular. I’ve never seen so much adults enamored with a show targeted towards toddlers/preschool aged children.

No bs, I don’t see why Mickey Mouse Clubhouse doesn’t belong here other than show quality. It’s just as (if not) more popular.
This is not a popularity contest (for the most part). I chose mine off of quality. However, I do agree that the show you're choosing needs to be popular.

Nah. I wouldn't consider Bluey for being a big 3. I wouldn't even consider it a big 3 for shows aimed at toddlers/preschoolers.

But that’s not what the original big 3 was based on. Quality wise Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece are okay shows in the grand scheme of things. Why call this the Disney Big 3 instead of just “The 3 Best Disney Shows”. I see no need to complicate things.

In terms of popularity. It kinda just is. Its currently the second most popular animated streaming show (after the big yellow square). In terms of show quality, it definitely is. I have personally watched maybe 2 - 3 episodes and you couldn’t convince me that it isn’t better than most preschooler shows I watched as a kid.

Well I'm going more off of quality than just sheer popularity. It's not complicated at all.

Sorry. But I don't see Bluey being a part of the Disney big 3 for animated shows when Gravity Falls, Kim Possible, and Phineas and Ferb are right there.

Tbh, you can make an argument for preschool/toddler shows, but I don't see it, though I may have to look back at some of those shows and see if they actually do hold up.

What would your big 3 for toddler/preschool shows be?

DBGT is overhated and gets hate for basically concepts that is overhyped and praised in DBS. In that same vein however, Dragon Ball worldbuilding is amazing, and regardless if you like GT or DBS or hate one or the other, added to the series. You have many different worlds and people with their own ideology, background, and the life they live

SW acolyte is unnecessary. We already have over a ridiculous amount of material from how the dark side and sith function from legends on how they fight. But Kathleen had to go “we have no source material”.

Naruto world is terrible and the series preaches dangerous nationalism and loyalty to a village that either treated you like trash (Naruto), wiped out your entire family and clan (Sasuke), or condemned anyone who decided friends are more important than the village (Kakashi). Konoha is the worst village. At least the hidden mist was honest about themselves where they have their academy students and child soldiers kill each other. But Konoha does massacre and hide it behind as “the best village”. **** them honestly.

This isn't relevant to that exact topic but I don't know why people like it. I'm not saying kids shouldn't like it but what the hell makes it so special that so many adults are actually watching it? Do they just watch it frequently because their kids do?

I think it's mainly because of the rise of YouTube Kids. There's so much content which completely just makes things absurd as possible because kids would like it. It only takes a short attention span to watch said content and arguably makes it even worse. There's even a term for this type of content, "brainrot".
Bluey doesn't fit this mold. Every episode has meaning and is likely to teach about moral values, the art of the show is pretty good, each character feels like a person with feelings leading to good character interactions, the music is great, and the story of most of these episodes are decently great. It's well paced and is pretty fun.
I do definitely think it's benefitted from coming out now in comparison to coming out back when shows like these were common. Even then, the subject matter often goes beyond what you'd expect from a preschooler show. Other shows might teach you how to be a good friend or the importance of honesty but Bluey might cover more mature topics like love. Apparently (I haven't watched more than like 2 or 3 episodes so I can't confirm) there's an episode where the main plot point is the mother having a miscarriage??? No preschooler show would dare go over a topic like that but Bluey isn't scared to break the mold. It's genuinely a preschooler show that an adult can both learn from and enjoy.

TL;DR: It's kinda just a good show ngl. It's not the show for me but if my nieces throw it on, not only would I be grateful to watch it with them, I much prefer it to when they watch some cringe YouTuber make videos on "Poppy Playtime" or whatever they watch.
