Unpopular Opinions and (Friendly) Rant thread

I got around and decided to try out the 7 episode season of Singapore-made Tom & Jerry. Ngl, it ain't half bad. Obviously it isn't as good as the 1940s episodes but unlike the modern american tom and jerry, these episodes are unqiue. They've a unique artstyle that isn't just classic T&J but made with digital art, instead it is very distinct. It carries on the humor and slapstick comedy but where it lacks I'd say is a dynamic soundtrack that follows the character's actions and the soundeffects are just too silent. One of the reasons that T&J was so funny is because you could 'feel' the sounds. If Tom got smacked he'd scream like a madman, when he crashed into the ground it'd sound like someone dropped a fridge off of the 9th floor. The intensity made every bit of slapstick way more funnier. Someone runs into a pole? Shotgun sound. Iron pole? Shotgun off metal sound.
On the other hand the singapore series just doesn't have enough of that. It tries, but too rarely.

In short, it is unique enough to be worthy of notice but it is just too mellow to stand up to the classics. Also the episodes are only 3 mins long which sucks.

nvm the problem about dynamic music, it was just an issue with a few episodes. Still, it could've been more distinct as it was in the 40s.

Is it just me or did the background for VSBW become a darker blue?
The default seems to have been changed to Dark Mode. You can go back to the previous colour scheme theme, Light Mode, by selecting it in your Preferences page, accessible from the drop down menu that is opened by clicking your username, left of the alerts button in the top right.

It surprised, confused & unnerved me, too, earlier.
