At the end of her scream, a sudden force quickly knocked her down. In her last moments of consciousness, she could see a humanoid shape crawl out of the ground

"M-my clothes..." she thought, before lying unconscious— the one thing she doesn't want to get through, wasn't the fact she was defeated, but the fear of her clothes getting smelly and muddy.

A bright light shining at her face eventually woke her up and upon looking at it, she noticed it to be a spotlight.
She also found herself unable to move her body

Looking down, she found her entire body save for her head inside a box of some sort, one she cannot seem to get out of nor can her attacks seemingly pass through it
Looking up, she found a pair of eyes staring back at her with another glint in the dark

"This brings back some memories" Maria greeted as she walked up the stage.
"Reveal"
In an instant, the "stage" seemingly disappeared, only a raised piece of road in a city street. All of Fhian's chains were there all along, flailing about yet somehow not touching the killer.
"Ilusions, such a cheap tool of manipulation" Maria said before lending Fhian a hand.

Chapter 2, Muscles and Magic
That's a happy ending from our adventurer
Not a bad result for an amateur
She stayed out of sight as they dropped off the clown
Then they soon left this bleak industrious town
With this new employment, Maria expanded a plan
But for that she may need a helping hand
For while their abilities are above normal peak
In the flesh they are rather weak
Luckily this is that time of year
When certain warriors are coming near
Close quarter fights these ones have survived
The Macabre Militia has arrived
"Your payment, sir" Maria said, putting down a bag of coins for a mercenary before taking the hands that were offered. It has been a week since the incident and so far, there hasn't been a mission she needed to deal with personally yet. However, that day is beginning to draw near and a glance at the calendar reminded her that it is time.
Putting a "5 Minute Break" sign on her desk, she left it behind to check on her employees. There were occasional yelps of pain from the sparring room, presumably from her employees training.

Gideon's movements in the sparring room exuded a calm, almost meditative precision. His defenses were layered and subtle, no doubt due to his years of disciplined training. Each step and block were calculated, preferring a defensive stance to predict and evade attacks. In stark contrast, Fhian's combat style appeared deceptively simple. She used a combination of calculated strikes and sudden, unexpected maneuvers, making it difficult for Gideon to predict her next move.
"You've got a knack for this" Gideon remarked, a genuine note of admiration in his voice.
"But watch your balance on the follow-through. It's where opponents often find their openings"

"Now I need you to be at your best behavior. They're not exactly the friendliest to spellcasters" Maria explained while leading her group out of the employee's room. The tavern was noticeably a lot more packed now with a large concentration of people bundled up at one side of the tavern.
"Alright, next!" a voice called out from within the crowd with it shrinking just for a moment.
"That's sufficient. Spleens! You're up!". Following this, a large man from within the crowd pushed his way in, a large battle axe in his hands before escorting one of the patrons out.
"Clear out!" Maria yelled, followed by most of the patrons moving out of her way though some stayed behind, mostly armored and scarred individuals with varying weaponry. Standing behind all of that was a single armored man sitting by a desk with stacks of scrolls atop it, his spear resting next to him. The man seemed to recognize the administrator, a scowl forming on his face though he kept his composure in his tone.
"Mäkelä, what is it this time?" he asked.
"Business as usual, Johnson" Maria replied.
"It's never usual with you".
"We're currently even in terms of favor and I heard you have quite the mission in your future. Bringing order to the dark city of Pursimies? None have escaped that place sane. Or at the very least, none of your warriors".
"And what mission is in your hands? As far as I've known you haven't had a permanent staff regiment or at the very least, not long enough".
"A simple mission with a couple tasks really. Investigate a building, get my new recruits accustomed to this job, and keep them in-line. Will be useful when they're the ones helping you in the future".
"New recruits? I recognize Gideon, he's been here for a while".
"Oh, I have another one. I can't put him out for too long and I do need your expertise at dealing with these kinds of threats".
"Go get him then" Johnson replied with Maria bidding farewell to meet up with her employees again.

Thats when the lights in the place slowly started to dim and spotlight appeared out of nowhere as a man jumped out of the darkness and into the light doing a couple of flips in the air before landing on his feet and shouting out "Introducing the amazing, show stopping, incredible Mayel Makara!"

Mayel feigned a look of surprise and sudden recollection before saying, "Oh yeah sister now I remember you were that pathetic little girl who needed her friend to save her from the main event ruining my carnival."
Mayel then turned around and said, "You got it boss will be on our best behavior I mean were practically friends already isn't that right sister."
He then wrapped his arm around her in a mock hug to feign some sort of comradery.
