It's more of a metaphor than a fight.

Boethiah represents Deceit, Treachery, Betrayal. And in killing Lorkhan, Trinimac betrayed his true King. And so Trinimac was consumed by Boethiah, and transformed from a noble night to a brutal monster.

Based on King Gortwog, Trinimac never died rather it was a deception of Daedric worshippers. Given the history of TES, Dragon Break is the prime example of many things are true at once. It could be Trinimac still being alive with a part of himself became Malacath.

This is probably the reason why Trinimac has a separate profile unlike 8 Divines.
