It's Power Mimicry, it's not the first time with Goku, Vegeta and Frieza copying Krillin Kienzan.

No, if a random Ki Barrier is was take to nullify other techniques then Goku should had be able to nullify Eis Shenron's ice beam from the beginning.

It was a ki barrier though, there was nothing really special about it, he did the exact same thing after he 1st saw lavender's poison

Adaptation=/=reactive evolution. He didn't get some ice negating skin via doing that. He put up a barrier.

From what I understand, his body essentially made a barrier to specifically counter the ability, instead of the body adapting. Not to mention he already has Reactive Power level (the missing other half to get Reactive Evolution).
