"Cure...?" Cain murmured, black blood continuing to trickle from her mouth as she glared at the man. They were of the same kind, and she could tell, her bloodshot eyes slowly disappearing. A cure, she thought. She could stop being this abomination. She could be normal.

"A cure!? Where!?! Where is it!?!?" Cain exclaimed, stomping over to the man, gritting her teeth in desperation.
Lazerous turned to the girl, his eyes softening as he heard the desperation in her voice. They were the same, in a way. He knew that the moment he saw her. Both victims of the cruel experiments that they were forced to undergo.

"...I don't know..." He muttered. His voice shook, as he clenched his fist.

"...I.. I've been searching...for so long...and I...I haven't found anything that works..." He muttered, his whole body trembling as he stared at the ground.

"...but...but it....it has to be out there...somewhere..." he murmured, more for his own sake than for Cain's.

"I could try to help you at some point..." Palaria murmured genuinely
".....I....I would appreciate that..." He said quietly.

Cain looked down, her arms hanging. "****." She said bluntly, "**** **** **** ****... ****...!!" She shouted, more black liquid spewing from her mouth as she dissipated her floating daggers, her throat slowly healing. There was no cure. She was going to remain like this forever, a freak, a demon. It isn't like she hated this form, but, regardless, she still wanted something, maybe even a semblance of normal.

Lazarus looked down at Cain, his body trembling as he stared at a reflection of his torment.

"....I...I've found ways...to mitigate some of the symptoms..." He said, his voice shaking. Slowly, he leaned down, going eye level with Cain.

"...I...I can't...I can't become normal...but..."

"...I can give you potions...to make...life more...bearable..." He said softly.

Cain shook her head, "No... No, this... I need this body, for now, at least. I can manipulate my composition... My cells... I can... I can change myself to... a human like form, maybe... Maybe... It's not a cure but... it's something..."

Lazarus stared at Cain. Suddenly, he gripped her by the shoulder. He stared into her eyes, his face merely inches away from hers.

"...Y...you....you can make yourself look human...?" He muttered, his voice catching on itself as he continued to stare at her.

Alex and Mark didn't know what to say, they could barely understand the situation they were in, they couldn't promise something that might be impossible for both of them, that cost them both a lot in the past...

Dhei suddenly pushes him away, making him fall down on his ass

"Keep your ******* hands to yourself"

Says as he gave him a threatening glare from touching Cain and being that close to her

“This doesn’t concern you, werewolf…” Lazarus hissed, slowly standing up as green vapor began to flow from his mouth. He glared at Dhei, his legs slightly crouched as if ready to spring.

"....calm down, both of you..." Goliath muttered, slowly stepping toward the two men, his muscles clenched in case he needed to break up a fight.

"Both of you stop..." Cain said, "I may be able to turn myself into a more human shape but it's experimental... I haven't mastered this whole cell manipulation thing."

"Wanna try me ******?! I can make your face look much worse then it is now. Thats your only warning you get. STAY. AWAY. FROM. HER."

Says with an aggressive and serious tone to the man, growling briefly at him after

"Dhei, shut up." Cain said bluntly, her eyes once again going bloodshot as this unnecessary conflict was clearly pissing her off more than usual due to the current conversation topic being extremely important to her.

Dhei was suddenly immobilized, Palaria having grabbed him with her telekinesis

"Be overprotective... when we aren't out in the open... or I will knock you out Dhei." Palaria said, her voice revealing how stressed she was

Lazerus cackled, potions appearing in his hand as he glared at the werewolf. Clearly, he was prepared to fight regardless, but, slowly lowered his potions as he heard Dhei response. The man took out a flask, sipping some medicine that calmed his nerves as he stored his potions back in his dimension.

"...Didn't mean...to start conflict..." he sighed, rubbing his cracked skin as he shook his head.

"...Another troublemaker..." Goliath thought, staring at Lazerus for a moment before turning away.

"Okay... let's get to your place Ryan, I'd rather be out in the open as little as possible..." Palaria said, taking deep, freezing breaths as the gentle snowfall was growing steadily worse, Terevion nodded, readying his pistol as Magnus disappeared into the ether again, but was still there

Ryan nodded, "Right."

Teeny tiny travel timeskip later.

Ryan's place wasn't that bad. It was a decently big wooden house, the man clearly having made it himself. It contained multiple bedrooms, kitchens, work stations, specifically small workshops where he could forge whenever he pleased, but, why he put them in places made of wood was a bit unclear.

"How long did it take you to build this...?" Cain asked.

"About 2 years." Ryan said with a shrug as he walked in, the door not at all being big enough to fit Goliath as expected.

Goliath stepped into the building, crouching down so he could fit in the doorway.

"...nice house..." Goliath said, nodding respectfully at the man.

Lazerus slowly stepped into the house, glancing around.

"...Do you have any flowers or plants...?" Lazerus asked, staring down at Ryan.

Palaria's condition seemed about the same as before, but things were clearly only going to get worse before they got better, Palaria smiling at Mark regardless in a glad show of appreciation

Lazerus slowly stepped into the house, glancing around.

"...Do you have any flowers or plants...?" Lazerus asked, staring down at Ryan.
"Naw, unfortunately. I've been planning to set up a garden in the back for a while now, though." Ryan said.
"Where is the kitchen? Im thirsty right now"

Asked Ryan
"Second hall on the right you'll find one of them," Ryan explained while Cain just sat on a nearby couch, breathing slowly.

"Focus... Imagine each individual cell... And reform them..." She murmured to herself, her skin noticeably brightening as she began slowly manipulating her cell composition.

Lazarus whirled around, staring intently at Cain as she saw her skin begin to shift. Immediately, he rushed towards the couch, stumbling and nearly falling onto the ground. He picked himself up, and looked at her closely, watching her body change.

"...amazing..." he murmured, excitement audible in his voice. If she could change her form...then maybe there was hope he could do so as well...

Cain continued to manipulate her cell composition, first starting off with her extremely pale skin, which she made lighter. She then started on her eyes, trying to remember their original color, only coming up with something akin to green. She got rid of her horns, the black material retracting violently back into her head and causing black blood to spew from her skull as she then began changing her hair, unbothered by the pain. She shortened it, and didn't bother to change the color as she felt as if white was her original hair color as a human anyway. She slowly got rid of her claws, her third eye, and finally...

"Haa.... Ha..."

She produced thin black sheets of skin so she could actually form clothes, swiftly donning them as she looked at herself.

"This is... weird..."

Lazarus shot up, unleashing a small screech. Black tears began to well in his eyes, before dripping down his cheek. It was possible. It was possible to assume human form. In all his years…he had never expected this. Hope that had been buried under decades of failure began to spring into his heart as he wiped a gnarled hand across his eyes. He let out another screech of joy, his face contorting into a wicked, sharp-toothed smile.

"...you did it...!" Lazarus shouted, his voice cracking somewhat.

Dhei went exactly where Ryan explained immediately after and grabs himself some water in a glass, with his face staring down, looking sad from the looks of it, then had a flashback in his head for a moment

"You are an animal, no girl will like you stupid mutt, they want someone exactly like them"

Last 3 words would repeat several times to him, then he would remember when Lazarus was close to Cain briefly some time ago

"Would she?....."

Wonders, as he felt troubled of the idea before getting back to where most where and looking for Cain to see what she does for now

"I... did it...?" Cain murmured, turning to Lazarus.

"Is this how I looked...?" She asked herself... Trembling. Was this her face? Her skin color? Her eye color? She couldn't get rid of a few scars, but, this felt... normal.

"......." She didn't know what to say, so she simply sat on the couch, observing her own body.

Lazerus nodded eagerly, taking a seat next to Cain as he looked at her altered flesh. He took a swig of his medicine, calming himself down as he stopped screeching.

"...I...I never expected something like this to be possible...you look..."

"...Like a normal girl..." He muttered quietly.

Cain immediately began crying as soon as he said this, standing up and going outside as she left a trail of black tears in her wake.

"Normal..." She thought to herself. Never in her long life did she ever think she'd get to experience normal again. Never did she ever think she'd have the chance to not look like a freak of nature, to not feel like a freak of nature. She leaned against a tree and slouched down, crying into her own arms, staining them black as she was just at a loss for words.

Lazarus reached a gnarled hand outward, watching as Cain ran out of the house.

"...Normal..." He repeated. His body trembling at the thought. Years of isolation. Years of being feared and hated, being treated as nothing more than a monster...that could all be over...

A wide grin appeared on his face, black drool dripping from his mouth. He knew he wouldn't be able to achieve the body control Cain had...but that didn't matter. He knew it was possible now...and he was eternally grateful for that knowledge.
