Ragnarök-RP Thread

Belial's previously serious wounds regenerated in mere moments. "You're pretty good, David. I had to hold back as to not kill you but this... Is pretty impressive." He said.
"yeah....I figured as much. guess I'm not strong enough to make ya use your full power." David groaned, groggily getting to his feet.

"Well... I'm glad I improved. good spar! and thanks for not killing me!" David said, chuckling.

"but...I'm kinda curious. how much would you say you held back? how large is the gap between us, really?"

"Yeah, thanks for that." Belial said, opening a portal so that they could both leave the pocket-dimension he created. On the inside of Belial's mind, paranoia and fear filled his mind. He was still constantly pondering what Kill-Gaia wanted with him and Kiara.

They both went through the portal, "O-Oh, hey...! How did the spar go...??" Kiara asked, sweating as he wiped something off of her lips. Rory sat there, also sweating awkwardly. "Kiara, did you suck my mom's dick?"

"Yeah."

"Thought so. I'm going to sleep." Belial sighed, heading to his room.

Before going to bed, Belial turned to Kiara. "You mind coming with me before you start blowing my mom again?" Kiara blushed, "S-Sure..." Kiara followed Belial into his room, sitting down on the bed next to him.

"What's with this... Weird feeling?" Kiara asked, "I've put up tons of wards to keep this conversation private. Nobody barring Kill-Gaia is going to be able to intrude on this talk." Kiara was a little surprised. "Heh, Belial, what's going on? What's with all the wards?" She asked.

"Kiara... This is serious. I'll get straight to the point, for some reason Kill-Gaia is interested in the both of us." Kiara's eyes widened, "What the hell do you mean...?" Belial sighed, "I talked to Zaza... She called both of us 'Keys' for some reason." Kiara scratched her head.

"Damn... Why didn't you tell us...?" She asked, "To keep things cool. You and I are the only people who need to know any of this." He didn't mention the weird fruit that Zaza had given him. "D-Damn... First, this disease and now I'm being targeted by the literal Devil..." Kiara said, sighing.

"I know that it sucks..." Belial said, "You're damn right it sucks! But, thank you for telling me. Y-You're right... We don't need to worry everybody else about us. We should just... Prepare for whatever battle is coming up." She clearly wasn't really okay with just hiding this, but she could sort of understand. Belial nodded.

"Yeah..." He lamented his own hypocrisy. "Belial, thank you." She smiled, thanking him for telling her only part of what he had found. "I know we don't really talk much, but I just want you to know that I appreciate you." Belial ground his teeth as she said that.

"...Thanks."

How much longer was his own mind going to rot into nothing? How much longer was he going to have to lie to the people that he cared about the most? Torture is the best thing that could describe it. Belial looked down, lightly groaning.

"Hey. Hold you're head up high!" Kiara said enthusiastically. That was right... "Belial, you're a hero! I really admire you. You're strong, smart, reliable, and you can make hard decisions when people like me just... freeze up." Just a little bit longer.

"So hold you're head up high! I really mean it, you've done a lot for the good of others." He needed to hold out a bit longer for the people that he cared about. He needed to keep himself together.

As he and Kiara began to end their talk, a large explosion went off outside the house, in the middle of the busy streets. Rory jumped up, running outside to see what had happened. "God damnit...!!" She yelled out.

The citizens and the soldiers all panicked in an attempt to combat the oncoming explosions, "Is it some sort of terrorist attack or whatever...?" Rory said as she summoned some water in order to help put out the fire the explosions created. (Since Rory has Elemental Manipulation all types apparently lol.)

David immediately got to work. using his forcefield creation, he grants each of the panicking citizens a forcefield, protecting them from the fire and explosions. at the same time, he attempted to jump into the flaming area itself, rescuing any citizen that he could from the flames. he managed to save several people, but he knew that lives had been lost in the explosion.

"Is this another one of Kill Gaia sick games?!" he yelled in frustration.

"Most likely, but we'll have to wait and see...!" Rory said as she continued to attempt to rescue civilians as Kiara and Belial teleported outside. Suddenly, a large screen appeared in the air.

"A-- Ahe- Testin- Testing! Testing!" A voice boomed from the screen, alerting everyone in the area of the new presence. "Lovely! We have some of my favorite toys! Rory, oh how I love to play with you! David, is that you? Oh, I thought I'd never see you again after all this time! Masayoshi and Towa how great it will be to see your stomachs churn!" Rory crossed her arms, she knew exactly who it was.

"******... You're not going to come and face us yourself, Gaia!?!" Rory yelled out for everybody to hear.

"Naaaahhh!!!" How could one person be so unfathomably obnoxious?! "Oh David darling, you know I'd like to come down there and RIP a piece of that meat of you're tiny fragile human bones... But today isn't the day for that." Suddenly, a light shined down from the sky, flashing onto Belial and Kiara.

"H-Huh!?" Kiara yelled out.

Although they could not see The Devil's face behind a veil of obscurity, his psychotic grin could be practically felt from miles away. "Did you people know that those two are the reason I'm doing this?" This caused the people of Emerald City to freeze up, turning to Kiara and Belial.

"Oh, don't worry, they aren't at fault. I'm just going to make a proposition for you..." David could feel someone's arms coil around him from behind, a woman whispering into his ear softly.

"Why don't we have a little war?"

"Why don't we have a little war?"
"W-what?" David yelled in surprise, he attempted to break out of the women's grip and turned to face her.

"what the hell are you talking about? war against WHAT?"

"Against each other of course!" She gripped his neck tightly, pushing him to the ground. "Let go of him!!!" Rory yelled out, running towards the woman who she assumed was simply another one of Kill-Gaia's forms. Gaia... ignored her.

"Every citizen of Emerald City, give in to your paranoia and fear! If you want to survive then just prove you're absolute superiority in the flames of carnage..."

The woman's eyes lit up as she violently choked King Tiger, "The ones who have proved their superiority will get to live...!"

She pressed her fingers into his neck, cackling. "The ones who don't will bite the dust...!"

The denizens of Emerald City were confused, curious, panicking, and afraid of what was going to come next. Prove their superiority...? "Wh-What the hell...!?"

"I don't want to die...!"

"Bullshit- This is total bullshit!"

"Mommy, I'm scared...!"

"No... NO. I'm not going to let myself die!"

The people screamed out in fear and anger. Why were their lives still being put at risk because of a few people that they didn't even know!? Why did they have to die!? "I WILL NOT DIE TO THIS PLAGUE OR YOU!"

"I'm going to win...!"

"I'll kill you if that's what it takes..."

"I'll prove myself! I'LL WIN!"

"This isn't going to be the end of me...!
"

(If you're confused, those lines are separate citizens' reactions to the situation.)

David's desperate struggles hopelessly failed, "What's the matter? These people want to survive, don't they!?" The woman flung King Tiger into a wall, walking over to Belial and Kiara. "You two know exactly why I'm interested in you." Kiara yelled out, "No, I don't!" Belial nodded, "Yeah, same here..."

"Sure you do! Just rack those tiny little brains and think..." Belial delivered a punch to the woman, which was effortlessly blocked. "**** off." She smirked, "Haha..." She then yelled out for the entire city to hear.

"IT'LL ALL BE IN A FEW DAYS! PROVE YOUR SUPERIORITY OVER THOSE WEAKER THAN YOU, SURVIVE!"

Rory ran over to King Tiger, helping him up. "We aren't going to let this shake us up... Gaia is strong, we know that. The only thing we can do is play along with his games..."

"Can't allow it?" Suddenly, a barrier formed around the woman and King Tiger, separating them from the rest of the group. "Haha... Can't allow it? Then let's have a little fun." The woman transformed.

"Here's a proposition for you... Hit me once and I'll stop." Kill-Gaia cracked his knuckles, "I won't use any abilities, just my own physical strength... So try and hit me. Let's see how much you've improved."

"you're on you damn bastard! I'll smash through this game and save these people!" David yelled, anger in his voice.

Immediately, he used his spatial folding, forcefully constricting the space around himself and Kill Gaia, rapidly bringing the man towards him if successful. At the same time, he used his gravity manipulation to increase the gravity around Kill Gaia by an immeasurable amount, attempting to slow his movements as he was moved through space. if successful, David would aim a powerful punch towards his torso.

As soon as David has gone to perform his punch, he could feel something crash into his fist and his face, propelling him into the barrier that separated both him and Kill-Gaia from the others.

"Not too shabby."

In a single breath, Gaia had simply crashed his fist into David's fist and face, sending him flying back with sheer perverse physical strength.

"So fast....even under that much gravity...?" David thought, spitting up blood as he laid in front of the Barrier. Quickly, he stood up, unwilling to give up.

lifting one of his hands, he created hundreds of portals around the battlefield. he started jumping through these portals, moving through each of them at high speeds in an attempt to confuse Kill Gaia and make his approach difficult to predict. suddenly, he appeared from a portal under Kill Gaia, stopping time for a brief moment before attempting to deliver a brutal kick towards the man's legs.

"You're cute when you think you can win."

Kill-Gaia's eyes hadn't once lost sight of David in his attempts to confuse him, "And that's why I like you so much..." He jumped into the air, dodging David's kick, the stopped time having no effect on him.

"You actually THINK you have any hope of victory!"

Kill-Gaia slammed his feet back down onto David's leg, crushing the bone and tearing the muscles like paper. Rory pressed her hands against the barrier, "David...!" She couldn't just watch this...

“****” David yelled out, clutching the remains of his leg. it hurt. hurt like hell. he could feel the pain searing into his mind. but couldn't stop

"I'm...I'm not done yet" David panted. forcefully, he ripped the remainder of his leg off. the useless limb falling to the ground in a puddle of viscera and mangled flesh.

David slowly stood upright, balancing on a single leg as he glared at Kill Gaia. with his remaining leg, he leaped forward. his hand outstretched, hoping to strike Kill Gaia. at the same time, several tentacle-like hands made of pure willpower sprouted from his back, which also attempted to grab Kill Gaia.

Kill-Gaia dashed forward faster than David could react, slamming his fist right into the wrestler's face and knocking him back. It didn't matter what tricks or techniques David tried to use on The Devil...

His pure, unrivaled physical power was more than enough to crush the King Tiger like a mere ant.

"If you can't even scratch me, how are you going to protect anything?" Kill-Gaia walked towards the King Tiger, "If only you just became mine..." Gaia grabbed King Tiger by the hair, lifting him up.

"If only you just...~"

Something very unfavorable was about to happen to David, "KING TIGER! KING TIGER!" Kill-Gaia snapped his own neck, turning to Rory who was cheering King Tiger's name. "Stop that." She didn't.

"KING TIGER! WOOOO!!" Kiara also cheered for him, pumping her fist into the air. "What are you doing." Belial followed along, immediately realizing what they were doing. "KING TIGER! EVERYBODY, CHEER FOR THE GUY ALREADY!" Belial yelled out to the citizens who were confused. But...

As far as they knew, this guy was the only thing that could stop them from tearing each other apart, and if cheering for King Tiger would somehow make him stronger, then...

"KING TIGER! KING TIGER! KING TIGER!"

They'd gladly do so.

David was going to die. Or at least that’s what he felt. Kill Gaia was right. He couldn’t protect the people he loved from the man. He knew the moment his leg had been destroyed that Kill Gaia far outclassed him. There was a massive wall between them, even without abilities.

David was starting to falter. Facing a devil like Kill Gaia nearly made him give up. Nearly made him submit to the man. Beg him to spare the people, even if it meant becoming his slave, or worse.

and then he heard the cheering.

"H-HELL YEAH" David shouted. new energy coursing through his veins. reinvigorated, he forced his energy into his missing leg. his regeneration working in overdrive to instantly sprout a new one from the socket.

"AS LONG AS I HEAR THE PEOPLES VOICES," David said, standing upright. he flexed his muscles, their strength increased several thousands of times by the chants of the citizens around him.

"AS LONG AS THEIR ARE PEOPLE WHO NEED ME" David continued, his eyes burning with an intense flame as he began lowering his center of gravity as if he was about to break into a charge.

"I WILL. NEVER. YIELD" David yelled out.

focusing all of his newfound energy into his legs, he rocketed forward at an absurdly fast speed, easily surpassing his previous speed by several orders of magnitude as he flew towards Kill Gaia. shifting his body, he aimed a powerful dropkick onto the man's torso.

Kill-Gaia remained silent in response to the massive increase in the King Tiger's strength, easily dodging the incoming attack. But this time, he didn't deliver a counter... No, he was waiting for him to attack.

Rory noticed this, cheering more passionately for her friend's victory. "It's just one hit...! All he needs is one hit...!" She thought.

"THIS IS YOUR CHANCE, DO IT NOW!" She yelled out to him.

David's strength increased even further as he heard his wife chant his name. The feeling of love amping him to an even higher degree than before. Pink and blue aura radiated all around him as he achieved another level of power in the midst of a crisis.

“that’s right….”

“Rory is counting on me…” David thought. he remembered all the times when he had counted on her. when she had saved his life, dozens of times. How she has stood by his side, even when fighting impossible odds.

“Masayoshi is counting on me.." he remembered the overwhelming love he felt to towards her. his desire to be with her forever, to never leave her side.

"Belial is counting on me..." he remembered how many times the boy had protected him. had given him advice. how he never gave up, even in the face of inevitable doom.

“ IM NOT LETTING THEM DOWN” David roared.

he rushed forward once more, charging towards Kill Gaia with enough speed that reality itself was bending from his sheer level of swiftness. He activated all of his abilities. his gravity manipulation to slow Kill Gaia down, his space manipulation to bring him into range, his body control to maximize how fast his muscles could carry him. he would pour everything into this final charge, in the hope that he could finally succeed. in one momentous effort, he attempted to punch Kill Gaia in the face.

Kill-Gaia blankly stared at the incoming fist, not moving an inch. Surely he could've dodged it... So what was The Devil waiting for? Why did he not simply end the fight then and there?

"Ha..."

What was the purpose of Gaia creating chaos and dysphoria among the masses? His own personal pleasure? Of course. All of his plans were to make himself feel good, to keep himself entertained until his death. But that wasn't just it...

"Haha..."

A hero stood before him once again, a hero who believed that they could challenge him and grasp victory. The Devil's heart... Skipped a beat in genuine joy.

"Magnificent."

Kill-Gaia easily dodged the strike and began to assault David with a flurry of punches. Again and again, he struck David with a psychotic cackle. This was the moment that he needed!

The crowd of citizens stopped their cheering, their eyes widening. This was the deciding moment of their fate, and they knew it. Kill-Gaia was waiting for this moment...

"Excellent...!!"

The Devil did not destroy only for his own pleasure. The Devil destroyed to make it known that there was no hope for the weak. No hero was going to save them. There was no hope, and this was thoroughly beat into everyone's mind...

People cried, people rioted, people screamed and yelled, people ran away, all at the realization that they could not be saved from their fate, and the hero could not save them.

"I feel refreshed..."

And he reveled in the despair.

"....huh" David nearly shout out, as the man easily dodged his strike. this was impossible. David had amped himself to well beyond his physical limits, and used every tool in his arsenal, done everything he possibly could to ensure the attack landed.

and yet...it was not enough.

"....how?" he thought. had he done something wrong? had he messed up somewhere? everyone was counting on him, he needed to win.

and yet....it was not enough.

a feeling was starting to overtake David's mind. it wasn't desperation, wasn't even anger. it was...fear. David was terrified. Kill Gaia had looked at his best efforts and simply laughed them off. as if he was nothing. a nobody. All his training. all his hard work. all his willpower....meant nothing to this man. he was...helpless... completely and utterly helpless to this man's power. and he couldn't do a damn thing to stop him.

"he's...he's on another level," David thought, his fear reaching a crescendo as he looked at the man.

"how...how is anyone supposed to match him!?"

and then the punches came. a mad barrage of blows that David was helpless to avoid. bones fractured and disintegrated, organs ruptured and fail, blood and viscera poured from open wounds as the man pounded him into submission. His muscles, a feature he was so proud of, meant nothing to this man, as he was beaten like a mere sandbag, unable to even react. as the crowd broke into a frenzy, his activation dream was broken, no more people were cheering his name. and he returned to his normal, pitiful strength.

David collapsed onto the ground. more of a pile of flesh and bone than a man. Kill Gaia had beaten him. mentally and physically he was....broken.

"...please....stop" David muttered. blood pooling freely from what was left of his mouth.

"STOP IT, YOU ******!" Rory said, slamming her fists against the barrier in an attempt to break it, which failed miserably. "G-God Damnit..." Kiara looked away, tearing up. "This is just to cruel...! Just stop!!" She yelled out.

Belial stared at David's broken body, "..." What was this sinking feeling? What was this pain he felt? "...Why." He had lost Shalor. "...WHY..." Was he now going to lose David...?

"STOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOP-"

Belial screamed out, gripping his head in pain and sadness as tears poured from his eyes. Despair... "Please...!!" This was the fate of the weak. "Just... STOP!" And there was nothing that he could do to save anybody.

Kill-Gaia stopped attacking King Tiger, dispering the barrier. He turned to the crowd, "Any objections to war?" Nobody there was strong enough to oppose a god...

"DAVID!!" Rory and Kiara ran up to David, "SOMEBODY, HEAL HIM ALREADY!!" Rory and Kiara didn't lose hope, they could still run up to David and try to heal him, try to inspire hope. But not the citizens of Emerald City...

And not Belial.

"Looks like you're the one." Kill-Gaia said to Belial before disappearing. Belial fell to his knees, looking at the ground. "...Weakness." He hadn't felt this in such a long time.

This is despair.

David continued to lie their, blood pooling around his body. he was only dimly aware of Rory and Kiara's approach, but he didn't react. his mind was still occupied by one man.

Kill Gaia.

"he...he's....unstoppable," David said, finally realizing how truly insignificant he was compared to the man. all the bluster about beating Kill Gaia, about putting him in check, about doing anything to stop this man were empty threats.

he looked at the crowd of people. he knew he couldn't stop the war. not anymore. they would kill each other, and it was his own fault for being to weak to even begin to help them.

"I'm....I'm no hero..." David said, before mercifully falling into unconsciousness.

Draedon, who was scanning the situation opened a channel to speak

"Tch... that evil is too powerful to take on. Even if we somehow managed to take him out another Apostle would just take its place... not like being helpless is a new feeling for us. Still, somehow it still unnerved me." Draedon said, sighing before continuing

"Heroes aren't invincible, heroes aren't immortal. Most of the time they are just people fighting for what they believe is right. Tell that to David when he wakes up."
