Ragnarök-RP Thread

“….uh…huh” David said, looking at the scribble on the ground in confusion.

“seems like he’s trying to communicate…so he’s still a person alright” David thought.

“Hello!” He said to the creature, hoping he had written some kind of greeting.

“I have great news for you my man! Me and my friends may have a cure for your current condition! If you could stand still for a second, we could give it to ya! “ David said enthusiastically.
(It isn't a cure it's a prototype lol. I'm gonna address this but just saying.)

"I-Isn't it just a prototype...?" Lamia whispered into David's ear.

((My mind is scrambled I don’t know what I’m typing))

“Oh yeah…sorry” David muttered to Lamia

“A PROTOTYPE of it I mean! Theirs only a chance, but it could do something to improve your condition!” David said to the creature, somewhat less confidently.
The creature didn't respond for a few seconds until it stood up, going over to the wall.

The beast drew a crown, and then a tiger. Rory tilted her head, "Peculiar..." The beast then drew a TV. "I think he's a pro-wrestling fan," Rory said.

“HELL YEAH!” David said, Walking towards the creature.

“I see ya got good taste man! Pro Wrestling one of the best things around” David said, slapping the creature on one of its massive arms in a friendly manner.

“Ay if this thing works out what do ya say we catch a match together?! My treat!” David said happily, glad to find someone who shared his interest in pro wrestling.

“oh but first, what’s ya name pal? Think you could draw it for us or somethin?”

The beast simply stood there, not responding.

"Alright..." Kiara held the syringe and her hand and slowly walked over to the beast as to not startle it, which followed with her swiftly plunging it into it's arm so it could not react or escape.

"Alright, well it's done!" She said, wiping away some nervous sweat from her forehead. But suddenly, she covered her ears. "Ugh!-" The beast began to violently vibrate, releasing a loud sound.

"Everybody, get back!"

Yelled Lamia as the beast's body began to compress, change, and form into something else. As this happened, Head Nurse fumbled in, feeling somewhat better. "It's weird... It isn't being cured, but it's being returned to a semi-human state..." She said.

"Well, it's far less... Monstrous." Rory said. The Director stroked his beard, "Excellent work! Although it may not be a perfect cure, you've managed to somewhat lessen the severity of the transformation..." He said, intrigued.

The man ignored him, instead turning to Lamia who was trembling in her boots.

"Sh-Should I kill it...? It looks generally human... But it still looks scary." The child took a single step back, shaking in fear. "Lamia, it's fine. He isn't going to hurt you... I think." Rory said, attempting to calm her.

The man kneeled down to Lamia.

"𝕄𝕪 𝕟𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕚𝕤 ℙ𝕦𝕣𝕘𝕒𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕠."

His voice sounded hollow and broken as if there was no real feeling behind Purgatorio's words. "Purgatorio, huh? N-Nice name." Kiara said, walking over to Purgatorio. "What an interesting effect... You're capable of speech as well? Maybe we're closer to a cure than I thought..." Nightingale murmured.

Purgatorio did not speak to anybody, simply standing there silently. "W-Well... I guess he isn't used to speaking." Lamia turned Nightingale, "So, what does this mean...?" Nightingale scratched her chin in thought.

"It definitely means we're close to a cure, but that's all I can really tell you. Just the fact that I could revert Purgatorio to a semi-human form is enough to say we have a maybe 40% chance now..." Nightingale smiled.

"No. Well... Not the dumb ones, at least." Nightingale said, "Don't be so blunt...!" Lamia said, pouting. "I'm kidding. Just leave me to my research and take care of any problems for now." Nightingale said, chuckling a bit.

Belial's eyes shot open, which followed with him jumping up from his hospital bed. He rubbed his eyes, clearing his vision to look around. "She... Knocked me out." He was quite surprised, but that slowly faded.

He sat down on the bed, sighing. "She's right... I need to stop stressing." He thought to himself. Had he always felt this... Tired? Well, constantly fighting the own deterioration of his mind would be tiring.

"Let's just hope they made some sort of breakthrough with that whole prototype vaccine..." He said.

Belial stared at Shalor for a few seconds, before his mouth rose to a smile. "Hey..." He waved at Shalor, noticeably very tired. He looked at Shalor's injuries, his heart (it's metaphorical Belial does not have organs) wrenching in pain (emotional pain Belial does not feel physical pain).

But he didn't bring it up. It was Shalor's decision, and he couldn't argue with that.

"Not really good..." Shalor frowned "I wish these Singularities never happened. That I never found them. But that isn't how fate is for me. Look, Belial. You're one of the reasons I will never give up in the Singularities. So don't you ever give up on me. sigh I know full well my life is ticking away as Rory gains power, so I intend to try my best to enjoy it. Mentally, emotionally, and physically I'll never recover, this right arm of mine is like a basterdized trophy from these damn things. But I will always be your friend, and I'll be with you right up until the end, one way or another." Shalor said solemnly

(And that's the first time Shalor has even soft-cursed)

"Thanks, Shalor..." Belial said softly, his voice devoid of any real feeling as if he didn't have any air even if he wanted to convey his emotions.

"I'm not giving up on anything, friend Shalor. I'm just tired. Tired of fighting, tired of keeping myself together, tired of worrying about when the end will come... I'm just very tired." That was all he could say.

He then smiled a bit, "Be sure to give me a big hug when you get back, alright...?"

"Everything is going to end, huh..." He already knew that. He already knew the end was going to come one day. But he couldn't just not worry... Just give up and accept such an end.

"I know. I know... I love you." That was when the connection completely shut off. "Ha... Alright." He slowly stood up, walking towards the rest of the group as he smiled, his eyes lighting up a bit more than usual.

"Really, now? That's... Wonderful." Belial asked. "Forget about that for a minute, how are you doing?" Rory asked him. "I don't feel... As tired. So that's something, I guess." He didn't mention the talk he had with Shalor.

"That's good! Are you sure you don't need to rest longer?" She asked, still visibly concerned. "I think If I needed more rest I would've stayed in bed." He said jokingly.

"But never mind that... I'm glad we're close to a cure, at least." Nightingale nodded, "It's only a 40% chance though, so don't get you're panties in a twist." Belial nodded as well, "40% is good enough." He said.

"Ok...? I could care less about being a hero." She said, shrugging. "I guess I really didn't expect you to care... But still, thank you!" Nightingale blushed slightly, "Wh-Whatever..." The Director chuckled.

"Ah, the joys of youth. Let us venture back to Emerald City." He said.

“Well hey! If you don’t care about being a hero, being the person who invented the cure should make you pretty damn wealthy at least!” David said, chuckling.

“I’m sure people would pay big money to hire ‘the women who solved the emerald plague’! You should be living in easy street for the rest of your life!” David said cheerfully.

he began leaving. But turned around

“And Purgatorio! I meant what I said about the pro wrestling match! Once you get all healed up, I’ll buy ya all the pro wrestling tickets you could ask for. Best seats to!” He said, waving at the monster.

Purgatorio did not respond, but he nodded slightly faster than he did when he was in his more monstrous form. The group walked out of the building, back to the helicopter.

"W-Wait...!" Lamia ran up to Belial before they left, "Take this with you!" She handed Belial something.

"What's this?" He asked her, "I-It's a water charm... It grants you some of my divine protection." Belial tilted his head, "Why give this to me...?" He asked, confused. Lamia handed him the charm.

"I... I'm really scared, Belial. I want to protect the ocean and its inhabitants... But when Purgatorio walked up to me, I was- I was so scared..." Lamia whimpered, "I... I think I'm very weak." Belial smiled.

"...Lamia. You're plenty strong." He tried to reassure her, "But... You need a little confidence, that's all." But he didn't really know what to say, "I'm sure if you try you're best..." But this was all he could say.

"Th-Thanks..." She wasn't really buying it, but for now, it was enough. Belial put the charm into his pocket as the group got onto the helicopter, beginning their flight back to Emerald City.

Belial looked out the window and down at the ocean, his eyes dim and tired. He was happy that he could talk to Shalor, but...

"...ya know, it might be a good idea for one of us to train Lamia, assuming she's willing to learn," David said, looking out the window

"she's plenty powerful, but her lack of confidence and inexperience is gonna be problematic if she meets someone who like, wants to kill her or something."

"Heck, I could train her if she wanted." David shrugged.
