Ragnarök-RP Thread

“Yeah…after all the trouble it took to get here, I was expecting something…different.” David said, disappointment in his voice. They had gotten what they came their for, Kiara was getting treated, but David couldn’t help but be a bit disappointed that it wasn’t some kinda paradise. A hidden oasis In the chaos that was the dream world.

“…I wonder… why do the people in emerald city not bring their treatment outside of here? Their are a bunch of people suffering from the disease, yet this is the only real place to get treated, outside of vaccines”
"It does seem like this place is cut off from the rest of the world due to the journey it takes to get here... We're some of the strongest around and we barely made it." Belial said in response.

"This disease is also particularly strong... If Kiara was affected, imagine what it could do to normal people if left untreated for a long time. Maybe... It's just a theory, but what if those monsters we saw were the result of the disease? People that couldn't get treatment.."

“Those…monsters?” David repeated, growing pale. He remembered that mosnter they encountered on the ship, the one that had absorbed the black hole before exploding. Had that once been a person? A living, breathing human being that had tried to get treatment, just like them, but failed?

“if that’s the case, then that’s all the more reason the treatment needs to be more wide spread! Those…monsters are dangerous to everything around them, if one of those things ended up on land…it could wipe out everything around it…” David said. Suddenly, he had an idea

“Belial” he turned to the boy, looking him. In the eye

“what if we found some way to take the treatment back with us? Maybe we could learn it…or copy one of their machines and bring it back with us…or something!” David said.

"Bring enough to treat everyone through all that chaos? Yeah, don't think so." Belial said.
“But…their has to be some way we can help those people! You saw them! Their suffering out their!”

“maybe…maybe theirs some other way to bring it back. The sea may be the only way to get here…but their might be an exit we don’t know about!” David said.

“But…their has to be some way we can help those people! You saw them! Their suffering out their!”

“maybe…maybe theirs some other way to bring it back. The sea may be the only way to get here…but their might be an exit we don’t know about!” David said.
"David, stop," Belial said as he crossed his arms, his voice firm and serious. "You do this every single time we hit a wall. You always babble on about some secret method we don't know about and throw yourself in a loop. Quit it."

“Yeah…I guess your right…” David said. But his mind was swimming.

“But…what if there was a way?” David thought to himself. Some way that he could save those people, help them through their suffering.

“but..Belial is right. If their isn’t a way, truly no way to help them, then…it wouldn’t do any good to keep thinking about it” David thought. But…could he accept not being able to save those people? Accept that their were people suffering that he was powerless to help?

“it wouldn’t be the first time I was powerless to save someone…” David thought. He remembered Shalor, how, despite his best efforts, he was unable to save anyone in that group. Just remembering that moment felt like getting punched in the gut.

“I’m going in circles. What’s done is done, I can’t…I can’t keep focusing on who I couldn’t protect…” David thought forcefully. He knew he couldn’t save everyone. He’s faced that reality many times in the past.

“Some people were beyond saving, and no amount of training or willpower could change that.” He realized. No amount of raw strength would have allowed him to save Shalor. No amount of brute force would have solved the flower dilemma. He couldn’t just punch through every problem, expecting everything to turn out alright just because he was strong…

he pushed the thoughts out of his mind.

“I’ll just ask Rory if she knows anything about it” David thought. Rory would have been there far longer than either of them, chances are if their was some hidden exit or entrance she may have found it by now. And if she didn’t, David would drop the idea, and move on.

After a few more minutes of walking around the city, they came across a beach. It was a really barren place, contrary to what most would think of a beach, barely any people, storm clouds, pollution in the water, the works.

"Ugh... Still no luck," Belial said, sighing as he plopped his butt into the sand.

"Maybe..." Belial said, simply staring off into space. Maybe they really did come here for nothing after all... Yeah, Kiara was getting treated and that was great, but he wanted to see Rory even more than he wanted to heal Kiara.

"Ugh, maybe this was just a waste of time..." He thought.

Suddenly though, the sky slowly began to clear as a beam of light shot through the clouds. A voice yelled out, "Jeez, the first time in forever I get to wear a swimsuit and the beach is all ******* gloomy! This won't do."

The water's pollution was purified and ridden away at the snap of a finger, and the sun shined through the dark clouds, illuminating the previously barren and hopeless beach. "Alright, sunshine, check... Clean water, check... Sword, check!" Belial got up, covering his eyes from the light of the sun. "Huh..?"

"Ahhh... This is a really nice feeling."

"Don't look at me like that, it's very weird..." Belial said as he walked towards Rory. ".....Hey." He said. He turned to him, her eyes widening as she stumbled on her own words.

"...................................Hey."

It was very awkward.

David stayed silent. Both because the situation was incredibly awkward and because he didn’t want to disrupt the meeting of mother and son.

“I’ll just…hang back a bit…let them…connect or somethin” he thought.
They both stood there, simply staring at each other for a good 15 minutes, both of their eyes widened in surprise and disbelief. Belial was the first person to respond, once again.

"...You look good in a swimsuit." He said.

Rory smiled awkwardly, "Th-thank you...? You look.... Good, son." She said, not at all knowing what to say besides that.
(And I ain't judging, but it did happen, though...)
(Or did it?)

"Hhhhhheeeeeeyyyy..." She said, awkwardly waving at King Tiger.

("Shit, shit, shit! What the hell do I say!? Do I cry? Do I give them a hug?! ****, this is so awkward. . . N-No, I got it!")

"So, uh... Want to go to get some food..?"

("RORY, THE FOOD SUCKS, YOU KNOW IT!")

"T-to catch up...! That is..."

("I love these guys but interacting with them is so hard after I tried to destroy existence. . .")

The lesbian was not very happy.

Rory teleported to a little apartment that she rented in Emerald City, "This city is trash... But it's interesting at least due to this weird plague that's going on..." She went into her closet, pulling out some casual clothes while slowly undressing.

"I'm glad to see them both, but I just don't know what to say after all I've done..."

As began to dress, she contemplated her previous actions. The people that she hurt, and the goal she had now... "There is a deep-rooted problem that doesn't extend to merely good or evil..." Maybe it was greed? Ego? Whatever it was, the world itself was filled with rot.

"I hope they'll understand that, at least..."

She teleported back, appearing in what she considered to be casual clothes. "You ready?"
