Ragnarök-RP Thread

Conversation could be heard in the distance, gradually approaching the others.

"You don't know how to admit when you're wrong, do you?"

"That's because I don't need to. I'm never wrong."

"Except now!"

"Saying a statement doesn't make it true, you know. I'd think a lawyer would know this..."

"You're going to tell me-? Wooooowwww...."

Naturally, it was Masayoshi and Towa talking. They had been so busy arguing that they showed up with their messed up hair and tattered clothes. This argument had likely gone on the entire time they had arrived. They stopped and noticed the others. Towa cleared her throat, utilizing magic at the same time to fix the appearance of herself and her contractor.

"Hello there," Towa said after a small pause.

"Well, looks like you guys found Rory..." Masayoshi said, before walking over to King Tiger and kissing him, "Are you alright, honey? You look... tired."

"Sir, we're gonna have to ask you to put on some clothes barring those trunks you're wearing. There are children here," Said one of the beachgoers.

((True lol, he’s been doing that the whole RP but he ain’t been called out.))

“Oops, sorry!” David said, not really embarrassed, but not wanting to make other people uncomfortable with his appearance.

“Belial…can you make me some clothes?” He asked the boy.

David stared in disbelief as he saw his wife appear.

“MASAYOSHI!” He shouted, wrapping his arms around her and hugging her tightly. He showered her with kisses, before speaking.

“I’m…I’m fine, my dear. It’s…just been a hard…a hard month I guess” David said, flashing her a smile. It was a sad smile, as he remembered the events of the singularity and his journey with Belial

“But enough about me! how did you two get here? Don’t tell me you went by ship like we did” David asked.

"Hhhhhheeeeeyyyyy.... You." Rory's interactions with Masayoshi and Towa were, negligible, to say the least, so she also had no idea what to say to them. She simply pulled down her sun-hat to hide her face.

Towa gave King Tiger a suit that matched the outfit Masayoshi now had on. She then sighed after hearing him ask about how Towa and her got there.

"Well, we tried teleporting, but then we defused, and landed in a random location, and we wandered our way through all of this to get to Emerald City... I'd rather not remember all the details..." Masayoshi said, "But, Towa was totally wrong about simply teleporting there..."

"You're still on that?" Towa asked.

"Until you admit it..."

"Fine. I was wr-... I was wroooooo.... I was."

"You can't say it, can you?"

"I was wrung."

"Wrung?"

"I was wron."

"Not a word."

"Wrong."

"Now put it together...."

"I was... wrong," Towa said reluctantly, "But don't get used to it! This is an exception. A very, very rare, improbable, and unfeasible exception..."

"Eh, I'll take it..."

David chuckled as he watched Towa and Masayoshi bicker.

“Well regardless, I’m so glad your safe my Queen!” David said, kissing her affectionately on the cheek again.

“it feels like it’s been ages since we last saw each other. I missed ya sooo much” continued.

"I bet I missed you more. I had no idea what you all were doing to get here so I was worried sick..." Masayoshi said.

"What an interesting dynamic you two have..." Rory said, chuckling a bit.
"It's essentially dealing with the best and worst parts of yourself on an unquantifiably higher scale..." Towa answered.

(Probably going to do a Zonolo post after this.)

(K.)

The group of awkward cringe-lords walked around the city until they stopped at a café where they were served horrible coffee and food, "Ugh, the food is still awful..." Rory said. She was clearly in Emerald City for a long time.

“Really? Don’t taste half bad to me!” David said, shoveling food into his mouth. He was starving from the journey, and would have eaten pretty much anything.

“So…” David said, In between bites.

“you uh…still planning on destroying the world?” David said bluntly. He didn’t want to beat around the bush, and, in his mind, this was the most important question to ask.

Rory stopped, setting down her food and drink. "...In a way, yes, I do." She said firmly and without hesitation. "I did a lot of thinking about this... I thought of a possible alternative to my current plan, and I still am." She looked straight at King Tiger.

"I... No matter how much I've tried to make the world a better place, nothing has changed, people still die. There cannot be a paradise with what I'm doing, mindlessly saving people. There has to be some other problem... Something different than just death or starvation. It has to be something with... The people." She continued on.

"I've decided to look for an alternative to destruction, to find the real problem. Calamities are born from emotions, after all... Kill-Gaia thrives on desire as well. This negativity that allows evil to thrive, I want to discover it's true nature. But if I can't..." She spoke coldly.

"I have no problem with just destroying this world if all else fails."

David put down his fork and met Rory gaze, unflinching.

“I’m really glad to hear that. Glad that your considering your options. Glad that you think their may be a way to build a paradise without destroying everything” David said, a small smile on his face.

“Thank you. For…at least entertaining that their could be another way.”

“I’m willing to help in anyway I can. Anything I can do to support this…alternative solutions, so that we can build a paradise, right here. I believe we can do that Rory, we just gotta find how.” David said.

“that said…” his eyes grew hard, as he continued to look at Rory.

“If you do end up going through with your world destroying plan, I still plan on fighting against you. That hasn’t changed. I’d rather die on my feet than roll over and accept destruction alongside everything I care for” David continued. Looking at Rory.

“let’s hope for my sake It doesn’t come to that” David chuckled, although it was devoid of mirth or humor.

“well..I’m gonna be dead either way, so I might as well enter it on my own terms, don’t ya think?” David said, shrugging.

“ya know, I don’t want to fight you. I’ve never wanted to fight you. You’ve been good to me. Been their when I needed you, saved my life more times then I can count. I…I want to be allies again. You were…one of my greatest comrades” David said, sadness in his voice.

"I'm honestly questioning if anybody is my ally at this point," She said, taking a sip of tea. "I didn't want to mention it, but the fear and dysphoria in you're voice is so evident whenever you talk to me, it's almost palpable. You guys would try and kill me at the drop of a hat if I acted somewhat suspicious, or you'd act weird around me."

She sounded indifferent to it, but it was evident on her face that she was sad. "I knew Yharon had prepared some weird dagger to kill me already, and the rift between me and the group... Probably won't ever heal." Her face then went blank, as if she had accepted that she was just... alone.

"I don't have any allies, really. Not anymore, and that's just that."

“Rory…” David said, looking at her.

“I am afraid of you. I won’t deny it. You scare the shit out of me. Rory the 7th, our fight in the arena, your plan to destroy everything. I am horrified of what you can do, what you can become…” David said, bluntly, honestly.

“but that doesn’t mean you aren’t a treasured comrade. I care about you Rory, despite all the shit that’s happened, despite all the times we’ve come to blows, I care about you.”

David stood up, and hugged Rory.

“Rory. I want to still be your comrade. I want to support you. I want to build your dream with you. I want to watch as that paradise comes into fruition, the day when we can finally see the fruits of our labor. I don’t want our friendship to end…”

“I don’t want you to be alone.” He said, finally.

“I believe that you won’t” David said firmly.

“I trust that if we form that paradise, you won’t destroy it. I’ll extend that trust to you, Rory. I’ve seen your willpower, your convictions. Whatever…apoptosis thing happens, however your nature tries to screw you over, I think you can handle it. Your not some mindless beast of destruction. Your Rory”

“the same Rory whose saved our lives. The same one whose saved the dream world, countless times over. The same one who helped me to my feet, when I had lost hope, back when Kill-Gaia had destroyed the dream world.”

"You... David, I..." Rory said, her eyes beginning to tear up a bit...

"You're a horrible idealist."

She stood up, slapping him in the face. "I'm trying to fight it, David... I am. But you don't understand-" Rory was already too far gone for any hero speech to reach her psyche.

"I want to believe that... So bad. So very bad. But I've already done too much... Willpower? Saving the Dream World? None of that has stopped calamities from killing people. It hasn't stopped scum like Kill-Gaia from running rampant. My 80 years of willpower hasn't helped anybody..." She then screamed out.

"And this is what I get!? A cursed existence of fear and hopelessness that I didn't ask for as a reward for my willpower!?" She attempted to hold in her tears to no avail, choking on her words.

"I hate this...! I feel like puking out my guts every day, it's like every cell in my body is on fire! How many times am I going to get an empty speech after I try and destroy everything!? After I try and KILL everything I'm supposed to care about!?" She took off her sun hat and threw it through the wall.

"I'm tired of these... empty speeches. Of these meaningless words that don't help anything. Don't try and lie to me... The second I act out of line, you'll shit your pants, David." She turned to the door.

"I'm tired of it." And began to run away. Belial jumped up from his chair, "WAIT!!" He yelled out, but... He didn't run after her. He couldn't. He didn't have the strength. "Again... God ******* damnit, not again..!" He was once again, powerless to save someone he cared about.

Rory continued to run off through the city, tears continuing to pour from her eyes. "Just leave me alone." She thought to herself. "I don't deserve sympathy. Just let me do this on my own..." She thought. "Just quit it with the empty words!!" She yelled out.

She then bumped into somebody, "E-Eep! Damn... I just got my treatment and I'm already bumping into people..." The person said. Rory shook her head a bit,, getting a good look at the person she bumped into.

"Rory...?" Kiara said, blinking rapidly to see if she was just hallucinating. "K-Kiara...???" Rory said, completely bewildered.

(Soon my minions. Soon.)

David collapsed onto his seat, staring blankly in front of him as he touched the spot where Rory had slapped him.

“….****.” He said simply. He wasn’t sure what else to say. What else to do. He had wanted her to come with them. Wanted her to finally return to the group, wanted her to create her Paradise. The speech he delivered wasn’t empty, at least not to him, he had said what he had felt, it may have turned into a speech, but David legitimately believed everything he had said.

“horrible…idealist..” he thought. What was wrong with being an idealist? David was proud of his ideals. He lived and died for them. And yet, time and time again, he was told off because of them.

“why? What was wrong with having ideals? Something to work for. Something to strive for?” He thought.

he continued to sit their, unsure of how to proceed.

Entering the domain, the group walked in to see a flaming blue lights illuminating a room that looked like a cathedral. On the alter were weapons and hammers of an assorted variety.

Standing in front of the forge was a man with red hair, laboring away at constructing a weapon. He then turned around slowly, sheathing a sword with a glowing blue blade. He then faced the group, a perturbed look on his face. For someone who shared the name of the ruler of Muspelheim in Norse mythology, he looked awfully... human...

ViperV2.png

"So, you enter my realm, kill my dragon steeds, destroy my guardian, invade my sacred forge, and seek to engage me in battle?!" The man said, "And for what, a workout?! You've got guts, I'll give you that... I guess you'll be what I test my newest creation on. I wanted to see whether it'd be enough to contend with the Goddess of Power's kanabo, but I'll settle for you all being its test dummies instead!"

"How'd you know?" Zonolo asked, "And if you knew all that, you'd know we were planning on undoing it all, right?"

"I know, just like I knew about how you got here and what you did to reach me. Nothing goes above, below, or in Muspelheim that I don't know about..." Surtr answered, "That's why I didn't instantly jump in the moment you arrived to kill you then and there... Now, I'm intrigued to see how strong you all actually are... Especially you, Yamato..."

There was some history between them, as mentioned earlier in passing when they first arrived at Dragon's Nest. However, this was about some of the most mention it was getting at this point. If Surtr was still conscious by the time they finished, maybe Zonolo could stick around and ask him and Yamato more about it. But as of now, they had a battle to focus on...

Rory and Kiara blankly stared at each other for a moment before smiling at each other, "H-hey... Do you wanna, go to my place or something..." Rory asked, to which Kiara nodded. "That's a weird thing to ask after we just met again... But sure...!" Kiara said, nodding.

Rory teleported Kiara to her temporary apartment, sitting on the bed. "So, uh... What's going on? You look... upset." Kiara asked. Rory shook her head, "I'm fine. What about you?" Kiara chuckled a bit. "I kinda got that weird plague..." Rory jumped up.

"Really!? Are you alright!?" Rory asked, running over to her. Kiara pushed her away, smiling. "I'm fine, I'm fine...!" Rory backed away, "Alright, if you say so..." Kiara sat next to Rory. "You gonna tell me what's eating at you? You look good in that outfit, by the way." Rory blushed a bit, "Thanks..."

She then looked down, her eyes dimming a bit. "Hey, Kiara. Do you think I'm a good person?" Kiara responded almost immediately, "Of course! Why I can't imagine a person who's down more for the good of others than you!" Rory smiled a bit.

"Can you still say that even knowing what I am...?" Kiara nodded, "Yep. You aren't a mindless machine, Rory! I'm sure that you can fight this." Kiara was telling what she believed to be a complete truth.

"Kiara... I can't believe that. I can't believe that after all that I've done, I can still be a good person. That I can regain that lost... meaning, in my life. I don't believe that I can be a hero again..." She said, sadness plaguing her words. Kiara simply sat there.

"...Rory..." Kiara said, "Yeah?" Kiara chuckled a bit, "I'm not confident in myself." Rory's eyes widened, "Huh..? I got the exact opposite impression from you. I always assumed you were extremely confident." Kiara continued.

"I've never been confident, Rory... I've always been thrown out, ignored, disregarded as a person who just didn't understand. Like with that kid, Zonolo... You wouldn't have met him. I made everything worse..." Kiara scrunched up, her eyes going blank.

"I'm weak, Rory. I've always been weak... I always wanted to believe that ideals could save everybody, that if I grasped my ideals as tight as possible, there would be the best outcome waiting for me. But there is no 'best outcome', just outcomes. Humans are weak, Rory..." Kiara shed a tear.

"We're all susceptible to the will of those who can rise higher than us. We have to fend for ourselves in a world that doesn't care for us, or be carried through the flames by others, helpless to ease their pain as you play the damsel in distress, waiting to be saved by a prince that barely survives either..." Kiara had experienced some recent trauma.

"Rory, I don't think good and evil exist. I save people because I want to do it, not because I want to be good. A weakling like me couldn't possibly determine what's good and what's not good... I just have to do what I can with the time I have on this cursed world." Rory's eyes widened.

"The strong will dominate the weak, leaving them to die. That is life. To be strong, to be a good person, in my opinion, is to simply... Find what makes you happy in life. Sure, some people are bad, but humans have clashed with each other for eons. What's a bit more fighting?" Kiara began to smile a bit.

"Rory, what do you want to do with your life? Do you think you're a good person or a bad person?" Rory didn't know how to respond to that. "I... Want to live happily. With my family, like when I was a kid..." Of course, her childhood wasn't the greatest, but there were good moments.

"I want to be able... To give happiness to everyone." Kiara pulled Rory in for a hug. "There you go! You don't need any fancy ideals. Just a simple goal." Rory turned spoke up.

"But what if I have to do things that hurt others to get it...? What if I have to do bad things myself...? You're a hero, aren't you, wouldn't you try and stop me?" Kiara chuckled a bit." I'm far too pathetic to be a hero, Rory... All this time, I simply sat there, being protected. I drove a kid away like he was just a gnat." Kiara frowned.

"As I said, I'm weak Rory. And I'm meant to be pushed over by those stronger than me until I die..." The strong will dominate the weak. Her parents died because they were weak. And she will die because she was too weak to save anybody, even herself.

She couldn't achieve what she wished.

"I think that's bullshit!" Rory yelled out, causing Kiara to flinch and back away. "Huh..?" She said, bewildered. "Kiara, weren't you the one who just told me that we should live the way we want instead of hopelessly clinging to ideals? Well, why aren't you!?" Kiara's eyes widened.

"Don't you want to be a hero? Why can't you? So what if you're weak!? Get stronger! You're right, Kiara. Humans are weak creatures with billions of flaws, but that's why we have to live life as best as we can!" Rory didn't know why she was yelling this out, but it just felt so right to say.

"You have to keep moving forward as best you can, doing whatever it takes to reach your ideal! It shouldn't matter if anyone tries to stop you, or if you trip and fall along the way! There was never meaning to life so we have to live as much as we can until we die!" Kiara began to cry incessantly.

"The strong are the strong and the weak are born to miserably die, so live as best as you can to become strong, Kiara! That is all you need to do!" Kiara began to chuckle, still crying.

"N-No meaning...?" That's right. Why should she have to search for meaning when she was going to die anyway. Why couldn't she just live as best as she could, getting stronger along the way? Why couldn't she just make a decision to get stronger? Why did she have to contemplate whether it was right or wrong? If you're going to live, you may as well clash with others until you can come to a conclusion.

"So, if I should live the way that I want... Then I have something that I really want to say to you, Rory." Rory tilted her head, "Go ahead." Kiara wiped away her tears, her eyes brightening up with a smile plastered across her face.

"Rory, I love you."

Rory's eyes widened. "R-really...? W-wait, that's so sudden...!" Kiara pulled Rory close to her. "Rory, I want to say that. If life never had any meaning, then like you said, we have to live how we want until the end. And this is what I want. I just hope it's what you want..." Rory began to cry as well.

"I- I just don't know if I'm ready to be in a relationship again..." Kiara nodded, "Pandora, right? She isn't here. You have a new life now, Rory. If you can't move on, I completely understand... Just tell me." Rory smiled, nodding.

"N-No, Kiara... I do. I like you a lot, too... I just, just don't know what to say..!" Kiara smiled, pulling Rory in for a kiss, their lips lovingly pressing against each other as Kiara pulled herself away to speak.

"Then let's quit talking..." Rory chuckled a bit, "What a seductive line..." Kiara laughed. "Is it? It sounded pretty stupid in my head!" Rory pulled Kiara close, "I think it's adorable..~" Kiara blushed. "Th-Thanks..."

They then began their night of passionate love-making.

A static sound began happening at the table... and a blue screen opened with a staticy figure that resembled Draedon.

"Belial. A rift is coming soon that matches what happened in Shinjuku. While it is impossible for you to get here I feel your Shadow Army is a different story. I have communication devices that should reach across space-time to keep us updated. You should be able to detect my coordinates to send a couple members of your Shadow Army here." Draedon's voice was staticy, but you could Make out what he was saying fairly easily

"Uh-huh..." Belial said, staring blankly at the ground. "My Shadow Army, huh..? Who do you want me to send...?"

"Are you OK?' Masayoshi asked King Tiger, "Hey, David, look at me."
David turned to her.

“yeah…I’m fine…Rory just…doesn’t want to hear any more speeches…I understand” David said, sadness in his voice.

he looked at her for a moment.

“Masayoshi…what do you think…of my ideals? What do you think…of me?” David asked her. Their was none of his usual affection or adulation. He needed to know what she thought of him, why she even loved him in the first place.

"I thought you already knew," She answered, "But, in case you forgot or didn't get the memo the first time, I love how strong you are in your ideals. Even if I may not always agree with them and sometimes see things through a more, I don't know, realist perspective? Even in spite of that, I still know that you're heart's in the right place. And to be honest, my ideals have made me make poor mistakes. Pretty much everyone in this room has made the wrong choice following their ideals at least once. Part of the reason why I love you so much is because you stick with your guns and do it to the end. If you decide to get different ammunition, that's on you, but I'll still love you regardless..."

Masayoshi put her hand on David's.

"Does that answer your question, or do you want me to keep going?"

“Masayoshi…” David said, looking at her, tears in her eyes.

“earlier…when you weren’t around. I made a choice. A choice that would have resulted in the deaths of many…innocent people. I had to choose…between those people…and saving a species…of sentient sea creatures. My…ideals…nearly caused me to let those people die. Would have caused those people to die, if it wasn’t for Belial interference.”

he put his heads in his hands.

“I would have let Kiara die Masayoshi. She would have DIED! So many innocent people would have been lost”

“Masayoshi..what should I do when two groups of people need saving, and I can’t save them both? How do I choose, how can I choose…” he said, tears streaming down his face.

"I don't know. We will find out." Draedon said
"...Bedivere. Gawain." Two shadows shot out of Belial's body, tints of silver and yellow mixed in with the darkness that swirled within the two servants of the God-King. "I take it you've heard the conversation...?"

"Of course, My Lord."

"If it is your will, it shall be done with haste, My Lord!"

Belial smiled a bit, "I'll make sure Mordred doesn't get jealous I didn't send her to fight... But you two are some of my best warriors. I want whatever needs to be done completed to the best of your abilities. I'll accept no less."

The two knights of the Shadow King bowed respectfully, "If it is your will, it shall be done." They both said in unison. "Now, where is the enemy! I shall take them on in the name of the God-King!" Shouted Gawain.
