Ragnarök-RP Thread

(Bruh, that's basically the equivalent of saying Griffith did nothing wrong LOL.)

Belial waited and waited for Nightingale to finish her work, only to be met with a syringe filled with a rainbow-colored liquid. "Well... It's done. I tried to administer it myself, but she isn't taking it. I need you guys to help me out here." Belial nodded.

"Whatever you need."
“I’ll help in any way I can” David nodded.

The four arrived from the portal created by Mira. There, they saw what looked to be an ancient realm. Engravings of a dragon were on the ground below them, albeit somewhat in ruins. Bridges, aerial islands and mountainous peaks were prevalent throughout the domain, some with dragons hovering to and fro from them at higher altitudes.

"Welcome to Dragon's Nest, a realm far above Muspelheim," Mira said, "This would be the ideal place to go if you are preparing to fight against the Goddess of Power. We start here at Dragon's Nest and work our way down to Muspelheim..."

"Muspelheim?" Zonolo asked, "Sounds like some kind of D&D thing..."

"It's Norse," Yamato said, "Muspelheim is the realm ruled by Surtr, who battles against the gods of their pantheon... The Goddess of Power would far outclass him in battle, but I suppose there's always the possibility that he's gotten stronger..."

"And we would have all of his relatives and subjects to deal with, who he leads to battle against the gods..." Mira continued.

"So potentially billions of Surtrs?" Boros said, "I suppose that would be some good training."

"We pull an Impel Down and work our way to the bottom level for battle against a whole realm's worth of Surtr Juniors? I guess that would be one of the more eventful things we've done..." Zonolo said, "Mira, lead the way. You know more about this area than any of us."

"Affirmative," The android replied, powering up and flying off. Zonolo, Boros and Yamato all followed behind, observing the countless islands and mountains present in Dragon's Nest. Zonolo frowned. While he was starting to warm up to this place, and witnessed a lot of amazing sites here so far, he still wished his family could see them as well... However, if his family was here, he wouldn't need to be at Dragon's Nest in the first place. As of now, he's just trying to get strong enough to send himself back home.

As the group flew, some dragons had picked up their scent and began a hot pursuit of the motley crew.

One dragon for each of them appeared behind them, and they all dealt with them in their own ways. Mira blasted the one pursuing him with a beam of energy, Yamato destroyed the one behind her with a swing from her kanabo, and Boros incinerated the one chasing him with a blast of energy from his body. Meanwhile, Zonolo kept flying. The dragon behind him opened its jaw to eat him, and then.

"POW." Zonolo thought, the text box annihilating the dragon on impact.

Suddenly, more dragons roared, pursuing the group. The sheer number of the winged beasts darkened the sky and hid the light of the sun from them.

"I think we just made the whole family upset..." Yamato said.

"Really? I couldn't tell!" Zonolo said sarcastically.

"Then it was fortunate that I explained it to you..." Yamato answered.

Zonolo's eyes turned to dots and his mouth into a squiggle once more, before he returned to normal and got ready to deal with the situation at hand. All of them readied their respective fighting stances, preparing to do battle with the much larger and stronger dragons.

Back in the white realm, a woman with blue hair and white attire walked up toward the woman who possessed the book. She bowed, but maintained a resolute and determined expression, expressing reverence as well as a disciplined and calculating nature.

"Lady Autrice, I wanted to inform you that-"

"They've exterminated all of the dragons that have habitation on Dragon's Nest and are on their way downward to Muspelheim," She interrupted. The lady with blue hair was startled.

"Did you forget that I already knew this to be the case, just like I know you want to 'eradicate them, and grind them like dust beneath your heel'? Your exact thoughts that you were about to utter before I so rudely interrupted you. My apologies," Lady Autrice continued, "But you have my permission to gauge their strength and give them what they're looking for..."

"Yes, Lady Autrice..." The blue haired woman said, rising and leaving the room. Lady Autrice smiled slightly, crossing her legs with her book in her lap.

Appearing on a mountain top, the lady with blue hair sat down on a throne made of ice of her own creation. Giving a light snap of her fingers, legions of entities made out of ice emerged on the level beneath Dragon's Nest.

"This should give them a show..." She said.

The battle lasted for thirty days due to the sheer number of dragons that they had to battle against, all of which were more powerful and durable than the young dragons that had pursued them earlier. However, this bout was not a long time to the dream world outside of it due to the realm's different flow of time. They looked onward toward the slaughtered dragons.

"Victory is ours!" Yamato exclaimed, fist raised high.

"There's got to be a way to fix this when we're done right?" Zonolo said, "Didn't think I'd bring about mass extinction, but here I am, doing all sorts of stuff I never thought I'd do..."

"If you're concerned, I can reverse the flow of time to before we were here...." Mira said, "It'll be like the dragons never even knew we existed."

"Alright, sounds good..." The Dreamer replied.

"Now, down to the next layer, I'm assuming?" Boros asked, electric energy emanating from his body.

"That's what the blue man said," Zonolo answered, "Any recommended route?"

"No, a simple descent will suffice."

Zonolo nodded, leading the way down this time. As they descended, the temperature dropped, and they noticed how all of the mountain ranges connected together. When they landed, they noticed a face and the cave by the mountain they were closest to.

"What is that?" Zonolo and Boros asked, looking toward it.

"That is a frost giant..." Mira explained, "When one dies, they're buried in icy terrain. If I were to guess, I'd say the heat of Muspelheim is slowly melting the glaciers of Svarturís away..."

"I thought they looked familiar," Yamato said, "I've battled countless numbers of them alongside Valdagyðja back when-"

The sound of a marching army could faintly be heard. However, with each passing second, it grew louder and louder... Suddenly, the group was surrounded by a plethora of soldiers, all of which appeared to be made out of ice. Mira raised a brow, unsure of what the entities are. He had gone through countless iterations of the possibilities of their training here, yet he had never seen these entities before...

"This is new! The souls of the fallen frost giants seeking vengeance, perhaps?" Yamato asked.

"I don't think that's it. Mira, what are these things?" Zonolo asked.

"I have no clue..." Mira said, "This is my first time seeing or encountering whatever these things are..."

"Well then, until we figure out what they are... I propose using them to train..." Boros said, "Those dragons were just a warm up for me..."

"You're speaking my language!" Yamato said, gripping her kanabo as red and black lightning surged through it. The moment Yamato got into an offensive stance, the soldiers readied their weapons, all functioning perfectly in unison as they readied themselves for battle.

“I’ll help in any way I can” David nodded.
Belial followed the sounds of pained grunting and the choked breathing, a trail of blood leading him to Kiara. "Kiara..?" Belial said softly, as to not scare or alarm her. "A-Ah-- Khk..- Hgk!-" She let out pained chokes and grunts, her veins protruding through her skin, pumping Emerald Blood throughout her body.

"Don't worry, we've got the medicine.." Belial said, slowly walking towards her with a syringe in hand. "N-No..!!" She backed away from him, swiping her hands at him recklessly to keep him away.

"For ***** sake, Kiara! Do you want to die!?" He asked her, and was met with simply more coughing and choking. "Please.. Get that away from me..." Belial tilted his head in confusion, "But why? If you just take this medicine, you'll feel better...!" She cried out in pain.

"Belial, my blood.. That liquid..!" Belial backed up a bit, "So... This medicine hurts you..?" Kiara nodded, "Y-yeah..." Belial continued to back away, "Alright then.. Alright.." Kiara seemed to slowly calm down.

"SIKE!"

Belial jumped forward tackling Kiara, and holding her down. "GK- AHHHH...!!!" She screamed out in blood-curdling pain as Belial attempted to swiftly administer the medicine. "Shadows, help me out..!!"

Although her being sickly severely weakened her, she was still rather strong, so Belial summoned some of his Shadow Soldiers to attempt to hold her down. "Come on, Kiara..! Just. Hold. STILL!!"

"Stop, for ***** sake just stop..!!" Whatever pain that could make someone like Kiara react this way must have been extremely gruesome. Slowly, Belial lowered the syringe down to her neck, injecting it slowly.

"AH- Ha.." She began to lightly foam at the mouth, her body slowly turning to normal as she passed out from the extreme pain. "****... What the hell kind of disease is this..?" Belial said, surprised at such a violent reaction from Kiara.

“Whatever it is, it definitely ain’t normal. I’ve fought Kiara before, and her pain tolerance is off the charts. She shouldn’t have been that afraid of treatment, if it was a normal illness.” David said. Gingerly picking her up off the ground.

“But at least now we can take her to emerald city without worrying about her dying on us”

((David already picked her up in the previous comment 😔))

“Drake might still be around somewhere, I’m sure she has a boat we could use” David suggested.
"Maybe..." Belial thought to himself.

"Y-you need a boat...?" Belial jumped up a bit before looking to who was talking, "Lamia..?" The child rubbed her eyes, clearly tired. "Boats... I have lots and lots of them... B-Belial, I can give one to you... As thanks." She said.

"For what?" Belial asked, to which Lamia responded quickly. "For making the flower bloom again... I- I'm sorry you had to make such a sacrifice." Belial smiled, "It was nothing... Now, about boats.." Lamia nodded.

"I have a bunch of them, so, I don't mind giving one away..."

“Suit ya self” David said, shrugging. He was a bit worried about the meaning of sacrifice, but he didn’t want to pester the boy.

“Whatever ya did was a damn good move, and that’s what matters. And now we can go to Emerald city, find ya mom, and get Kiara treated!” David said enthusiastically, he was glad that everything seemed to be working out.

"Uh-huh..." Belial said, nonchalantly. He rubbed the bridge of his nose gently, pondering something. "Huh..." He thought to himself, ignoring any outside sounds for a few seconds. "What... Exactly am I doing again..?" He thought.

"Where am I..? Who are these people..?" He continued to think before Lamia snapped her fingers a bit, "Uh, Belial..? You alright?" She asked him. He shook his head a bit, "O-oh..! I'm all good. Just a little headache." She smiled a little bit. "Alright then."

Belial followed Lamia to the edge of whatever was left of the island, "Alright then... Καλέστε." Lamia recited a spell, a small magical circle forming in the palm of her hand. The circle slowly expanded and expanded until it was large enough for whatever she was summoning to come out...

"Is this enough? It's a little small, but it takes some time to pull out the big ones."

fantasy-ship-city-cloud-hd-wallpaper-preview.jpg

It was akin to an entire country sitting atop a large ship, extremely high-pressure water flowing throughout it's gears in order to keep it running at full capacity.

Belial scratched his head a little bit, "That's right... I'm off to save a friend. And see... My mother." He thought. How could he have forgotten? He then responded to King Tiger, "With how little medicine we have and with how long it would take to make any more, they wouldn't last long."

Lamia snapped her fingers, a large ramp retracting from the ship that would allow both Belial and King Tiger to board the enormous ship that Lamia had summoned. Lamia turned to Belial, fiddling with her fingers nervously.

"Belial.." She addressed him, which caused him to tilt his head in confusion. "Yeah?" Lamia pulled him in for a hug, although, she was slightly shorter than him so she had to stand on her tippy toes.

"Thank you... For helping me. I'm... S-sorry.. For trying to kill you." Belial smiled a bit, "I was at fault, so there isn't a need to apologize." Lamia smiled as well. "Say..." Belial continued on. "Do you want to come with us..?" Lamia shook her head.

"Sorry, but I have a duty. My authority, granted to me at birth, dictates that I protect that flower." Belial nodded, "That's fine." Belial pushed her away and began to walk up the ramp.

"Hopefully, we'll see each other again," Lamia thought as they walked up the ramp.

David sat down, and folded his arms.

“what am I to you? Like what is our relationship.”

“you already told me you don’t really like me, and I don’t think you even see me as a comrade or friend. Yet we constantly face conflicts together, and you’ve even saved me a couple times. So I’m just curious what ya think of me” David said. His expression wasn’t angry or sad, more so curious, as if he really wanted to know how the boy viewed him.

"I think you're an idiot," Belial said without hesitation or regret. "I generally don't enjoy heroes in the first place. They exist to instill false hope without actually looking at the bigger picture... You're an idealist." He continued on.

"I realize that you're a good person and that you have good intentions... But what would you have done had Kiara and everyone died due to the plagues? I presume nothing. You'd probably just go on a depression streak.." Belial said, sighing.

"If there is anything, even one thing that I can agree with people like Drake or Kill-Gaia on is that evil, true evil, doesn't really.. exist. It's always a moral dilemma in the making... If you chose to save 100 people but chose to abandon 50, does that make you evil? For you, it would." Belial then stopped. What was he saying?

It was like this was a chance... To pour out all his feelings that he'd never expressed, not even to Shalor or Rory. "Because you choose the path of heroism... You constantly strive to destroy yourself when your ideals fail to save anyone. You can't make any real decisions because your constantly shackled by your desire to save everyone..." He wanted to stop, but it felt so good to say these things.

"And when things don't go your way you break down in agony like a little baby, it makes me sick... If you can't even make a decision on who to save, then a hero is just..!" He stopped.

"..Sorry."

David looked at Belial for a while.

“…so that’s how it is” David said after a while. He was thinking. Processing Belial words

“…Ya know. After the calamity struck. I lost everything. Everyone. My family was all killed off. But it wasn’t by the meteor itself. No. My town managed to survive for a few weeks after the fact. Could say we were lucky, we had enough resources to get by, despite the destruction around us.”

David took a deep breath and continued as if what he was about to say was difficult for him to talk about.

“…Raiders came into town one day. A large group of them must’ve been over two dozen. They came into our town…and they looted everything. My dad…died trying to defend the town. My mom was found and killed later. After seeing my mom murdered…I..I ran inside a house and hid. I was able to stay alive by locking myself into a closet and praying that they wouldn’t search there. That they wouldn’t find me. For three days, I hid in that closet. And when I came out…”

David took off his mask and clenched it in his fist.

“I don’t want…I don’t want anyone else to go through that pain. The pain of watching their family die in front of them. The pain of being powerless as people stronger than you destroy your way of life. And the only way I knew how…was to become a hero. Someone who could stop that from happening, someone who could protect the weak and Innocent. So…I adopted the name and fighting style of my childhood hero…King Tiger…and came to the Dream World. So I could do whatever I could, do anything in my power to protect everyone, to protect everything.

“I am an idealist. I want to save everyone. I try to save everyone, even if it’s impractical, even if it’s… impossible.” David sighed.

“I know it’s foolish. I know it’s idiotic, I know it's self-destructive, even counterproductive. But if I abandon my ideals…and someone I could’ve save died because of it….I couldn’t live with that.”

“sorry to say, but I don’t think I’ll ever change. Too pig headed for my own good, I Guess. But thanks for the honesty, Belial. I really do appreciate it.” David said, a small smile on his lips.

"Whether you change or not doesn't concern me at all, David," Belial said coldly and nonchalantly. "I just want you to know that from now on... I'm going to do what I want. Regardless of what you think. I'll do whatever it takes to... to.. You get what I mean."

"Then I'll just kill you," Belial said, leaving the room.

"I'll... Kill..." Belial went into an entirely separate room, grabbing his head in frustration. "What... Is... What am..." He was forgetting things... Gradually. Forgetting his current self, the sacrifice for allowing the ocean to once again thrive.

"I am..." He plopped down on a bed, looking at the ceiling. "..Belial. Right... What am I even thinking..?" It was like a static constantly ringing in his ears, his perception of time around him being warped.

"I- Ha... HA..." He breathed heavily, groaning in pain and frustration. "Remember...!!!"

"A dream...?"

Belial went into a deep sleep, entering into his own psyche. "A dream within a dream... Weird." He nonchalantly said. "What exactly am I forgetting...? My goals? My friends? My family..?" He asked himself.

"What do you think?"

He turned to the source of the voice, his eyes widening.. "What the hell are you..?" The boy chuckled, walking up to Belial. "What a weird thing to say to yourself." Said the boy.

"Myself..? Explain," Belial said as a response.

"Why should I explain when I'm the one who deserves the explanation?" Said the boy who looked exactly like Belial... Or well, he looked like Belial in the... the past.

"You aren't real." Belial said firmly, "How offensive... You thought you could get rid of me..?" Belial backed away as the boy walked closer, "I never got rid of you... I just evolved. I always evolve to suit the situation, remember?" The boy chuckled.

"But you can't go past me... You can't run away from yourself. You're already beginning to forget this hope that you've obtained... And when you do, you will return to me." Belial was pinned against a wall.

"Don't ******* touch me," Belial demanded his past to stay away, but...

"Come on, you know you want to...! This new beginning, this redemption, this love you think you've obtained? It's not us... We are despair." The boy whispered into Belial's ear words of temptation.. Just like a devil.

"These... People, you've befriended. How would you feel if they died..?" A clone of David was made and was put before Belial. "...Go ahead. Kill him. I could care less." That was the truth. "Good answer." And there goes his head...

"What of the pair... Masayoshi and Towa? What of them?" Belial responded coldly, "They can die." The other boy responded, "Another good answer..." The next one...

"Stop. I know what you're doing." Belial grabbed the boy by his collar, "I will NEVER be you again. I may not consider most of these people friends... But I have no intention to senselessly slaughter them. Piss off."

Belial forcefully awakened himself, staring out of the window of the room. The ship began to violently shake, "Huh... A sea monster..? He thought. He wasn't going to allow himself to be tempted that easily.

“I’ll kill you huh? Well I better get training again. If me and that kid actually fought he could probably do it” David thought.

“though I don’t even want to fight him in the first place. He may be cold, but he’s still an ally.” David reminded himself.

David was literally shaken out of his thoughts by the the sudden shaking of the boat. Surprised and bewildered, he rushed outside the room, trying to find the source of the commotion.

The ship itself began to tilt over, waking Kiara from her slumber and prompting Belial to teleport outside of the boat's inner rooms. "Well... That's a little concerning." He said, sighing a little bit.

The creature was far too big for Belial to see anything but an enormous wall of slimy scales.

As King Tiger flew closer to the top of the seemingly infinitely tall beast, he could feel the oxygen around him get thinner and thinner, as if he was climbing a mountain. The higher you went, the thinner the air went, after all.

"Damn, is it that tall...?" Belial thought.

While King Tiger continued to fly upwards, Kiara teleported next to Belial, scratching her head. "What's happening..?" Belial turned to her, "A monster attack. Why aren't you in bed?" He asked.

"Heh... I'm not so sick that I can't fight," She responded. Belial shook his head, "You should be resting... But do whatever you want." Belial crossed his arms. "Jeez, what's taking so long? It's been like 15 minutes." He thought.

At the top of the enormous beast, David could feel a sense of dread overtake every single cell in his body as the head of the beast dwarfed 1000 castles, the light that is emitted from it's eyes forcing him to cover his eyes.

xl_172f8dd0e0ec-seamonsterfeatureopt.jpg

The Oceanic Daemon did not move to attack David, it probably didn't even notice him due to how small he was in comparison to the beast itself.

“Jesus!” David yelled.

“what…what the hell is that thing!” David said, breaking into a cold sweat. It was bigger than any living thing he’d ever seen. Fear coursed through his body as he beheld the creature in all its magnitude.

hesitantly, he flew closer to the bright lights of its eyes, waving one hand for it to notice him while he used the other to shield his vision.

“…HEY!” He shouted, seeking to communicate with the creature.

Even David's loudest shouts would never even begin to attract the beast's attention, it's size making it so that all lesser beings would be rendered completely incapable of communicating with it through physical means, not that it would be able to respond either way.

The beast, instead, began to slightly move it's arm, creating a tidal wave that consumed King Tiger in high-pressure water. The ship collided against the wave, forcing Kiara to form a forcefield around it to protect the ship.

"We don't want to lose our only form of transport.. AHK!-" Blood poured from her mouth, causing her to choke. "Damnit Kiara...!! I told you to rest..."
