Question about (mostly) realistic settings.

So I'm planning to eventually start making profiles for one of my favorite obscure series from my days of youth, which has a fairly realistic setting in the sense of guns and cars and stuff. I was just wondering if there was one page with general guidelines on a realistic setting so I don't have to do a bunch of calc requests for a series that in all likelihood wouldn't be treading above Wall level.
