I'm arguing that he's used his lasers to outrange his opponents. He's never had to back up in-canon, as he's always had the superior range, but that means that in this case, he would use his lasers to outrange Kidd/pressure Kidd to run back, forcing Queen outside of his range.

The idea that Queen couldn’t coat his metal arm in basic haki is…really weird? It shouldn’t be any different than how Cracker can imbue his biscuit constructs with Haki, or how literally any swordmen does their weapon.
unless we are to assume that Queen’s haki is below even the most basic application of the ability he should have no issue coating his arm in the stuff, along with any other metallic piece he has.

He likely knows who Kidd is. Also, it doesn't take more than 2 braincells to see someone magically combining pieces of metal together to create a metal arm or a giant metal structure to come to the conclusion that he has a magnetism ability.

At face value, assign looks to be the most valuable asset in this match, as it could potentially trap Queen, allowing Kidd to hit him with whatever he wants, but this isn't true.
Queen has extendable limbs. Even if Kidd manages to catch him, which I doubt due to invisibility, Queen can literally just extend his neck, tail, hair, or arm to continue to attack him. Or he could call out the Brachio Launchers, which are voice-activated. Or he could continue to shoot his danmaku lasers from his eyes

I don't think that's crazy or out of character for Queen. Unless you're arguing that Kidd is just going to outright blitz him, why would Queen lay down and allow Kidd to charge his attacks? At best assign lasts a few seconds. Queen is not going to sit around and watch Kidd charge his attack when his specialty is shooting lasers.

He could also assign Queen to a wall, summon either Punk Rotten or Damned Punk, then unleash his fury.
