https://vsbattles.com/vsbattles/3876542 - Mainly came up through this thread.

so, with the 6-B feat seemingly no longer scaling to the Admirals, they have been downgraded to High 7-A. This however, is wrong.

Where the High 7-A scaling comes from: Issho (Admiral Fujitora) has a casual feat resulting in 1.9888 Gigatons of Tnt, therefore High 7-A, and Gear 2nd/3rd Luffy has fought against him, so both and those who scale from these characters would then be High 7-A.

  • Side note: It's already been argued that Luffy and Fujitora were roughly equal in their fight, and both were going all-out (minus Luffy using Gear 4th and Fujitora dropping meteorites, ofc).
However, something that has been... a problem... is a discussion that came from the long chain of threads discussing the revisions for the verse. Gear 4th Luffy, via a statement from Doflamingo, is regarded as having "increased his attack power several times beyond his limit". Upscaling, this is a multiplication of 3.

We have 2 solutions for where :

1) Fujitora was restricted by holding up the mass of rubble while fighting Luffy, so his total attack power was stunted by a fraction. Luckily, I calculated how much energy (PE) Fujitora would need to keep the rubble suspended with his power--466 Megatons of Tnt. Therefore, Fujitora, assuming he was restricted by this, would be exacly 1.523044407 Gigatons (Still high 7-A) upon fighting Luffy with his restricted might. 1.523044407*3 (for Gear 4th) = 4.569133221 GT ... 6-C

2)
We just scale Gear 2nd/3rd Luffy to Fujitora, 1.988GT. Makes Gear 4th 6-C anyways.

Anyone scaling to Gear 4th Luffy is either 6-C or Likely 6-C... Anyone scaling from Doflamingo (Admirals via Kuzan) are 6-C.

Thoughts? I wanted to keep it from being a massive wall

Last time we discussed this I'm pretty sure we came to the conclusion that Luffy's Gear 2 in no way scales to Fujitora, and his Gear 3 doesn't fully scale.

The only outcome of the single Gear 3 attack we saw Luffy land on Fujitora was a tiny mark which disappeared in the next chapter.

Fujitora then clashed with Luffy while Luffy was using his Gear 3 defensively, and after a focused attack using the power of his devil fruit Fujitora knocked Luffy flying and completely broke his guard.

So I don't think Luffy's Gear 3 attack potency would scale to 1.523044407 Gigatons.

@Damage - injuries vanishing is a common mistake in the manga. In Dressrosa alone, Doflamingo's burn injuries disappeared a total of 5 times, bruises shifted to different locations, and blood vanished from his mouth twice.

Also, Luffy broke Fujitora's guard in the first place. Fuji turned his body to received the blow with his blade, and was sent flying. And unlike Luffy (Who was unscathed by "Ferocious Tiger"), Fujitora was at least bruised.

I only shifted my opinion on Gear 2nd Luffy simply because he was mostly fighting him off panel with it, but they were engaged in a fierce battle anyways.

Basically the fight:

  • Luffy challenges Fujitora, runs up, and punches him with an Elephant Gun.
  • Fujitora blocks with his sword, but is sent into a nearby boulder and receives a bruise.
  • Fight goes off-panel for whatever time-frame
  • We then see them going at it with Luffy in Gear 2nd and both have light bruising (Funny enough, both of their marks completely vanish the moment Fujitora gives up chasing).
  • In the wide panel, we see that Luffy's causing some destruction, and presumably shoving Fujitora back considering the smoke trail.
  • Fujitora attacks but Luffy evades.
  • Both have a reprieve and it's apparent that both are feeling some fatigue as they are both huffing.
  • Luffy clashes with Fujitora in Gear 3rd.
  • They continue fighting while Fujitora is questioning Luffy--who is announcing his attacks ahead of time.
  • Fujitora uses Ferocious/Raging Tiger, and Luffy blocks it with his arm, but is blasted away... though he is seemingly unhurt.
By the end of the fight, both are a little roughed up from the scuffle, but nothing notable. And both matched eachother's attacks tick for tat.

I don't see how Luffy isn't comparable to Fujitora from this display. Yes, Fujitora broke Luffy's guard, but Luffy did exactly the same. And both weren't really hurt beyond a little bruise for each of them.

Pretty sure last time the topic of Luffy being unhurt by Fujitora's attacks came up, the simple answer was Luffy has a high degree of resistance to blunt force attacks.

Instead of trying to scale Luffy to Fujitora's maximum output, it seems more like we should be scaling Fujitora's typical fighting ability to Luffy's level of fighting if he was seemingly stalemated by him.

It'd be nonsense to scale G2/G3 Luffy to Fujitora as if Gear 2 and Gear 3 had the same attack potency.

Luffy's AP with Gear 3 hasn't been capable of matching Fujitora's AP when he used a proper attack. Everything prior to that was just pitting Fujitora's striking strength against Gear 3 Luffy's durability.

Fujitora is in no way seriously fighting though; the guy left his duty to hunt down Luffy to dice rolls for numerous days, for cryin' out loud.

Further, Fujitora's gravity is blatantly blunt damage, and Luffy punching Fujitora did not, in any way, interact with his gravity powers which have the rating to scale to.

If Luffy never overcame the gravity powers, and was sent flying by them, and only resisted them to their being blunt damage.....how the heck are we saying he 'scales' to their output, again?

Further......are these the words of a man trying to actually, honestly, kill his target? Wishing you hadn't blinded yourself to the world's evils so that you may erst your eyes upon the one you just fought, to see that honesty? There's good context to show Issho never really wanted to fight Luffy to begin with, and he only gets 'upset' over being shown "pity" by Luffy.

Regardless, I cannot in any good conscience agree with the proposal of scaling Luffy to Fujitora since he never once successfully overcame Fujitora's powers, which have the rating, no this basic un-amplified guard (which lacks the rating).

Obviously I agree with this.

Luffy base: Mountain level + scaling to pica

Gear 2nd: At least Mountain level+, higher than base.

Gear 3: Large Mountain Level, scaling to Issho and above gear 2

Gear 4: Island level, at least three times stronger than before

Obviously Duffy scales to three via his feats against luffy and Issho, possibly higher with awakening. Cracker et al scale to Gear 4.

Pica was unaffected by the attack since as soon as that head breaks Pica simply moves to different stone; so he was undamaged by this attack due to his devil fruit. This was also Gear third Luffy who isn't becoming 6-C.

The rest of his body was fine and Pica who was inside survived. He tanked it.

Unlike say Zoro's attack which ended him and even his cannons did visibly much more damage to Pica than the Grizzly magnum.

That's because the rest of the body wasn't what was hit by Luffy. Neither was Pica himself.

Pica didn't tank the Grizzly Magnum he moved away before it hit. Are you unironically implying base Zoro is superior to G3 Luffy since he oneshot Pica with full body armament? Or that Vergo is stronger than Luffy since he's Doffy's right hand and should scale above Pica.

@Insert; Vergo is not Doflamingo's right-hand man. All of the Supreme Executives are. Vergo does not scale above Pica.

Vergo was superior to Sanji who scales to Zoro tho. Also wasn't Vergo the heart?
Sanji doesn't scale to Zoro post-timeskip, otherwise it would be vice versa and Zoro would be likely Relativistic+

Can we stay on topic, and can someone try to explain how on Earth Luffy scales to a calc whose ability he never interacts with other than to be sent flying by said ability?

Fujitora's Base scales to his AP i'm guessing.

How would Fujitoras esoteric ability scale to his base physicals? Luffy punched him without his gravity powers being overcome. Fujis gravity powers sent Luffy flying. He cannot reasonably scale to Fujitora holding up the rubble of Dressrosa since Luffy didnt interact with that in any way shape or form
