Legend of Heroes/Trails/Falcom Verse Creation & Discussion Thread

Since we are getting a Legend of Heroes anime in around a week, this would be a good time to get the franchise represented on the wiki.

So I have a draft of what a Rean Schwarzer profile might look like:

Would appreciate suggestions/help in organization and quotes.
The biggest hurdle left is to compile the resistances from various monsters, and compile the Orbal Arts and Quartz. If it is more convenient, maybe we can place the Orbal Arts/Quartz in a blog.
I am mostly familiar with Trials of Cold Steel characters.

So we need to come up with a scaling before we can get profiles, and eventually a verse page, completed.

Following the honored tradition in JRPG, there is story/gameplay dissonance with over-the-top gameplay feats.
For AP, I think we can go with Tier 6 to Tier 4
And for speed I predict it would be relativistic.

Jasonsith did some early effort for calcing (still not evaluated though):

There is a planet busting feat by Ishmalga that yielded High 5-A.
The final boss of Trials in the Sky the 3rd did a similar feat where he busts the planet to small fragments:

The Lost Genesis Orbal Art creates a black hole, and the animation has the black hole swallowing a couple of moons/planets:

Mueller Vander's S-Craft, Righteous Witness, has him create a Black Hole, with the description stating that it "disperses space itself".

Kurt Vander's S-Craft, Gemini Judgement, similarly creates a black hole, with the description calling it a "stellar explosion".

McBurn's S-Craft states that it is a "A blast of unfathomable heat which explodes into a supernova".

The description for Ixion Volt states that the dark storm cloud is called, which is a good support Tier 7 feat.

For speed there is Millium flying to orbit in an instance, and firing a laser resulting in an explosion that can be seen from space:

Lloyd jumps to orbit quickly in his Meteor Breaker S-Craft.

In general characters can dodge laser attacks. In Claire's S-Craft she demonstrates that the laser she fires from her Orbal Gun reflects on mirrors.

There are also multiversal stuff; so in Trails to Azure the protagonists beat up the Azure Demiourgos, who contains the Wolrd of Zero:

KeA states she is able to erase herself, which would erase the World of Zero. Part of the power of the Azure Demiourgos was siphoned by Aion Type-β and Aion Type-γ to erase a large section of the Garrelia Fortress.
So should we consider multiveral scaling for top-tiers, or disregard it? The recurring protagonists of Trails to Azure practically scales to everybody.

Also, best opening?

Anything you are looking forward to in the anime? Do you have questions regarding the franchise? Are you new to it or an OG fan?

I am currently playing through Trails of Cold Steel 1, and have a sandbox of Rean in progress

I'm currently playing through the series to get evidence of hax to use for a Universal Energy System page for Orbal Arts

the thing i have down though is the scaling chain, though i can likely make CS1 characters 7-B with that supporting feat posted

also the Azure protagonists don't necessarily scale to Azure Demurgios until Reverie, since the only way they defeated it in Azure was through the help of Kea's Sept-Terrion power, so it'd only apply to Reverie keys for several characters,
due to the main cast being able to defeat Azure Demurgios as the final boss of Reverie

Speed is around the ballpark of Massively Hypersonic+ to Relativistic, with the god tiers scaling to Immeasurable due to Azure Demurgios encompassing the Zero World, which is a place where space and time are irrelevant

Looking at things

1. Oh definitely try to look at any calc blogs tagged "Trails series" or "Legend of Heroes".

That planet slicing feat. And god tier speed feat.

All main cast and major villains Scale from our literal top girl Emma Millstein.

2. Low tiers and early game characters scale from yields at the below blog

3. Yes please correct on the title of the thread: it is Trails series not Trials series

Lol, fixed the title.

Also like the based man I am I'm committing to Emma for the entire Cold Steel arc
Laura and Emma are best girls by a wide margin.

Cold Steel II has a cutscene feat that will probably yield Tier 8 (at 10:00):

Cross Crusade (an attack the Magic Knight tanked) was used to fragment a large cliff.

I'm currently playing through the series to get evidence of hax to use for a Universal Energy System page for Orbal Arts
Searching for anything in particular? Maybe we can look up keywords on the online Trials script database.
The only statement besides attack description I remember is that higher elements (Time, Space, Mirage) can manipulate causality, from the first Cold Steel.

In general, for hax and interesting abilities we have:
  • Earth: Petrify and Poison status effects. Not sure we can use 'localized' earth quakes (there are also some enemies stated to cause earth quakes). Geo Catastrophe appear to activate a volcano. Gigant Rage looks promising for calcs.
  • Water: Eschaton and Diamond Nova produce absolute zero temprature. Cocytus looks like it would yield Tier 8.
  • Wind: Has several storm creation spells (Spark Dyne, Thunder Cyclone, Ragna Dorian, Ragna Vortex, Ixion Volt); easy Tier 7 stuff.
  • Time and Space: Has soul/death manipulation, and shaking/collapsing the fabric of space-time, creating black holes, and BFRing opponents to Gehenna. Plenty of durability ignoring hax. Obviously has time manipulation. Has Photon Shoot which should be a straight-forward light-speed attack. Seventh Caliber creates an explosive pillar that parts the clouds.
  • Mirage: Mostly Mind Manipulation and Madness Manipulation, and illusions (including invisibility through Hollow Sphere during battle, and haze/shroud/cloak to avoid enemy detection). Has fortresses and towers being conjured, and Luminous Ray which is a direct light beam attack. Albion Wolf is a summon who rends time and space asunder.
  • A Lost Art includes summoning a sun, though it doesn't seem to be as large as a normal one. Frozen Epoch calls down a 'massive' comet from space.

There is Vanish which BFR opponents (temporarily if you don't finish a battle quickly, but if there are no enemies left on the field then the battle is considered won).
Mute and Seal can be considered power nullification. There is also the standard Death/Sleep/Freeze/Burn/Nightmare.
Didn't look at the Master Quartz, but if the default ones has interesting boosts and abilities, we can them to the respective characters.

Overall, the verse has lots of hax and hax resistance. Maybe I'll make a list of monsters with hax next.

Ah so I can make low tier characters High 8-C scaling off of Aerial, since its described as a powerful tornado in Sky and is an art Cold Steel 1 characters can tank

I would gladly help

The CS1 cast could scale to the cliff feat above since they can fight and beat magical knights. The magic knights above also survive the art attack and the fall afterward

Now we wait

So are we going with the Orbal blog page to streamline profiles? (I am personally for it) If so, then what should be included in it?
Should it also have a list of spells? Should it be a general verse magic page that includes the many resistances characters have against monsters?

I wouldn't say the anime is friendly to new comers, so they are better off playing Cold Steel 1 & 2 first.

Levi and her squad must be pretty high level to kill Dromes with physical attacks.
The second episode has a feat of using the boost from a combat Orbment to halt a speeding large armored truck. This can yield good Lifting Strength.

The first episode humanizes the Jaegars. The protagonist is the granddaughter of a North Ambria hero, wonder if this will play an important role. Did she fail to save North Ambria or did she spare it from a fate worse than annexation? It seems Valimar is known as the hero of the empire, but Rean himself is not part of the propaganda yet.
The second episode is the best so far, mainly because of the political intrigue and maneuvering plus the cameos. Building training camps just outside the city walls might have not been the best idea. It is questionable why a rookie team is sent to infiltrate the Empire, and the Jaegar captain lady basically says 'just trust me', and I hope there is good reason behind this plot.
The third episode is terrible filler. A literal clown show. There are so many plot holes, and all sides look incompetent and worse because of this episode. It seems the theme is that the Empire is doing much better than North Ambria, but they could have presented this in ways better than this farce. I know Trails often takes itself too seriously, but here they turned the goofiness all the way up to 11, and now this is canon lmao. The good name of Mishy has been forever tarnished.

The dub of the anime started streaming. Many from the games' English dub casts are reprising their roles, and the script is supervised by the legendary hero Leona Renee who does the localization for the games.

o are we going with the Orbal blog page to streamline profiles? (I am personally for it) If so, then what should be included in it?
Should it also have a list of spells? Should it be a general verse magic page that includes the many resistances characters have against monsters?
Arts use depends on what ornament you have equipped so it can be added to via characters equipment
The second episode has a feat of using the boost from a combat Orbment to halt a speeding large armored truck. This can yield good Lifting Strength.

Could easily use that yeah. I am more interested in scaling the character's speed tho. Being faster than a speeding bullet seems like a no-brainer in this verse at the very least even without diving into crafts and arts calcs.

So we should just go with a tab for Orbal abilities/hax + a spell list table in the Equipment section?

Found an additional speed feat. Fie can dash faster than a landmine can explode, at 3:10.

Otherwise there are the obvious ones from Sky cutscenes + Cold Steel III opening:

Though I think we can stick with calcing the relativistic ones from gameplay.

seems like the best option to take yeah.

Damn, I never really thought of this. Would this be faster than dodging or reflecting a bullet at an almost point-blank distance?

Otherwise there are the obvious ones from Sky cutscenes + Cold Steel III opening:
FC Estelle being basically a bottom tier in the verse makes this scaleable for everyone.

Wishing this move at a faster rate tho. We can probably start with Rean profile since he's the MC with most feats and best scaling among them

I have calculated some of the bullet dodging feats. Likely already covered the two. Another one is dodging from afar and arguably does not get bigger speed yields.

The dodging landmine explosion part... There is a time frame for the triggering and a time frame for the explosion. The mechanism of the triggering of explosion needs to be evaluated as well.

This yield for this speed feat is calculable but I have stacks of calculations and calc evaluations on my desk, these on top of my day job.

I'll see if I can add the spell list and Orbal tabbers to Rean's profile draft in a week or so.
Next would be adding resistances, and getting a handful of calcs accepted (prioritizing the high-yield ones used in the scaling, mostly the S-Crafts). Afterwards we should be able to pump out profiles and then a verse page.

Episode 4 of the anime is still weird, but it is at least better than the previous episode (a low bar) and multiple characters are self-aware they are traveling around the entire Empire like tourists for no discernable reason. Ymir is wasted on a hot spring episode. The Northern Jaegars almost burned the town down, threatened to massacre everyone besides Princess Alfin including the children, and almost killed its lord like a year ago. They supposedly went there to investigate the hero's rumored hometown, but pivoted to prioritizing the hot spring and trying to fix it.

Okay I am giving some directions:

1. How many profiles we are putting in here in the long run
2. How good are the casts scaling from what shown in the draft Rean Schwarzer profile which scale from Emma Millstein and from Giliath Osborne?
3. Do we start to polish and publish the profiles for Rean, Emma and Giliath first? Those seem to have the most information fitted.

Umm ... A lot? There is **** ton of characters in this franchise. Although once we get the first profiles and calls going the rest will be just manual work.
I would gladly work on these profiles if some ball starts running because I am clueless when it comes to calc and what not.

Good chunk of the verse scales to base CS3 Rean. Characters like, Crow, Laura, Sara, Gaius all do for instance

Yeah, would the best option. Rean being the main character means he has many feats and most solo fights to go from and judge on their own merits.

I feel it might be easier to start with any of the protagonists. So either Rean or Estelle. Rean seems to be the easier option due to quantity of feats.
Would the Sky characters (or at least their Sky Keys) scale lower than the Cold Steel ones ?

I started knowing about the series from anime currently watching, wanted to ask how much good the game is? Also about Rean has shown only few times in anime but somehow he became one of my fav character.

No prograss in a month? @Darksmash bring your ass here 💀
I will try to help when I get free time from college 💀

The games are good imo. You can try Cold Steel 1 and 2 if you want to see more of Rean and see if you like the games but CS3 onwards require you to play the previous games(Sky trilogy and Crossbell duology) for full context.

Okay, I will try it out and thanks for telling.

Is it only Rean’s profile are in the making or the entire Class 7? I would assume we can already most of the profiles up to trails of reverie as of now, right?

We need to make Rean's profile first. Like you aren't making a VSwiki page for Trails if you don't have Rean page for start.

Indeed. He kinda front page or at least the most popular characters in Trail series so there’s that.
"So, about Ismelga-Rean. Should we make this key for Rean or Ishmelga or just completely different profile?"

Rean Alter "Yes I am gonna call him that" needs a different page.

Rean Alter would probably be the most fun to make profile on the verse and probably the most broken one by a long shot

Okay then. Though, I would argue we could just put it as Bad End Rean then I remember back that the person is not really the original Rean and just akin to an imitation of that possibility so I guess making new page make sense

I mean he's basically a different version of Rean. So he's his own character.

Sorry for the delays, RL and all.

So I updated Rean's sandbox:

I removed Rean Alter, borrowed Scotty's scaling, and did some weird wiki editing witchcraft to add a list of Orbal Arts and Crafts.

I am not sure how to handle the passive effects (whether from Orbments or Quartz), and will need to do some digging for Valimar's Crafts.

The anime actually got pretty good after episode 4; the plot is progressing, political intrigue with factions and backstabbing is all over the place, there is character development, they started to acknowledge the brutality of the Northern Jaegers, and the cameos doesn't hurt (Rean and fishing ftw). They even added justification for the tomfoolery episodes: the wild goose chase was an attempt to provoke the Empire by sending obvious spies.
Hope it nails the landing.

Episode 5 has a giant flying worm thing that fragmented a cliff, and created a fissure/chasm. Will probably yield Tier 8. Valimar one-shot a bunch of them simultaneously.

At least the main characters and villains.
If we pull this off, it is plausible to add all major characters eventually.

2. How good are the casts scaling from what shown in the draft Rean Schwarzer profile which scale from Emma Millstein and from Giliath Osborne?
I think it can stand on its own, but the justification can be strengthened with a handful of more calcs.

3. Do we start to polish and publish the profiles for Rean, Emma and Giliath first? Those seem to have the most information fitted.
Once we have the formatting for Rean's profile and its scaling finalized, the other profiles can be done much easier.

I think the profile keys are a bit of a mess. Realistically speaking Rean only needs 3-4 keys.
Pre-time skip, post-time skip, and Resonance, Also, Valimar should have his own profile.

Also, can we hold back on the universal scaling for a bit? Because everyone and their mom fought Ishmelga and Demurgios and the sept-terrain scaling is a bit messy.

Everything else looks good.

If anyone fights Ishmelga paying their significant share of power, they deserve Ishmelga tier by our site standards.

Things can be made simpler if McBurn's Incandescent Hellfire can make a supernova which is theoretically above the energy required to slice an Earth in two halves. - scales if anyone fought McBurn with one's own effort of course.
