Death Battle Season Nine Discussion Thread (2) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

To add to the Elements discussion, they were more or less thought to be these magical necklaces that harness friendship magic (aka the Win Button)

Turns out they're just symbols, and any group of people that represent the traits of the elements themselves (Generosity, Honesty, Loyalty, Laughter, Kindness, and Magic) can call upon EoH level magic even without the necklaces.

Since Discord is literally a spirit embodying Chaos and Disharmony, they can put him down via leaving him petrified.

But to Discord's credit, the spell is supposed to put your mind to sleep, and he still managed to remain conscious. So he even resists his own kryptonite to some minor extent.

Oh and chaos as minor as three schoolchildren getting into an argument near him, was able to weaken The Elements' spell enough for him to escape.

So if Bill tried to petrify him, he would break Discord free instantly by just existing around him.

Oh, and Discord can just go places without his physical body as a ghost, too. It's how he bypassed a banishment spell.

Discord is cracked out, folks.

Meanwhile Bill’s Petrification is projectile-based so it’ll be impossible for him to pull off due to the Immeasurable speed gap

Yeah basically the Elements of Harmony are able to nullify Discord’s Chaos magic, which is why they were able to petrify him. But normal petrification doesn’t even work on him at all since he can just move, talk, and think as a statue.

Yeah he is quite literally the embodiment of Chaos itself. Cosmos, a character who embodies Malice, claimed that she couldn’t be destroyed even after she had been drained of her powers and was defenseless, which Discord seemed to agree with cause he BFR’d and sealed her on the moon rather than trying to destroy her. The implication being you have to destroy the concept in order to kill them

Depends on if you can get admin support really. That’s what kills specific threads, if there’s one person opposing but not enough admins supporting.

The alternative worst fate is being a Touhou thread which can’t even get admins in the first place

Actually yeah it looks like the standards have been changed back.

“Immeasurable speed characters are far beyond even those Infinite speed characters listed above. They perceive infinite speed characters as completely frozen, and they can travel forward and backward in time at will. They have the speed necessary to hop from the beginning of time, to the end of time, and anywhere in between as casually as a human being can roll their eyes left or right. This also means their reaction time is faster than instantaneous. They can dodge an attack that already has been struck, and they can strike someone even before they launched an attack. And they can do all of this via sheer speed.”

Seems pretty blatant to me.

Is that part necessary? Just wondering. I've seen around that moving just short moments through time is good enough.
