You're probably right overall with comics still contributing but there's absolutely no goddamn way Genos didn't carry hard for this MU, I still haven't met a genuine War Machine fan in my entire life lol. He has vague MCU popularity at best but nothing people would go feral over. Genos was the one bringing attention there, height of OPM's herculean popularity at the time

Looking at this list though, it does generally seem like most of the comics matchups that carried in views were like.... the really big names? Hulk, Flash, and Miles are all incredibly big names right now (Hulk's several movie appearances and long-standing comic run, Flash's ongoing popular (garbage) TV show, Miles has the Spiderverse movies & Insomniac game) or at least have relevance like Bucky. A lot of the other comic matchups kinda performed mid-tier.

I definitely think they don't need to spam Marvel & DC comics as much and could utilize more intelligent usage of comics. Pair them with non-DC/Marvel fighters that could lead to more interesting MUs and bring in new franchises to introduce new people to these franchises to make reusing said franchise/more obscure franchises more worthwhile. Use other monolithically popular properties. Demon Slayer was explosively popular and produced massive results. There's plenty of other up-and coming franchises that could net pretty good numbers as well. Eventually they're going to run out of really popular Marvel or DC characters to use, and once they start utilizing the smaller time ones it wont really pull in good views anymore.

I'll never deny the numbers that Marvel/DC can bring though. Their bigger heroes absolutely can pull attention/numbers, but they shouldn't be overused like they are, and if they fail to utilize other things, it'll just stagnate the show for many and make it harder to pull in new viewers imo.
Ya know fair enough. Ya right

I really wish to know what MUs are closest to get same amount of requests as OmniLander lol
It is not like people will really request Omni-Man vs Homelander to be an actual Death Battle, but it will definitely be a pleasure to watch the character you love brutally kill the character you hate. And it is even in hand drawn style so it is a plus - and way more appealing to casuals.

Which is why people are saying this is a spiteful and hate spreading matchup. But one very commercially successful episode.

This is ironic considering Korra vs Storm also involves a more loved character killing a more hated character but the response is mixed at best.

Is OmniLander being a success an argument for or against DC/Marvel overuse lol
Omnilander popularity is due To both running off the evil Superman gimmick even though Nolan moved on from it overall and both TV shows being well done

Honestly it's a mix of yes and no but really speaking it really boils down to how well am adaptation can do wonder's for a characters Popularity

Even if Omnilander got views and all, Omniman would have gotten more views against Bardock, Dragon Ball proven it gets hella views, Homelander is not a big name, neither his series is as spectacular as a DB character, plus Bardock would actually put a fight, imagine Omniman trying to conquer King Vegeta planet with Bardock stepping in or vice versa

Considering the view discussion, how many of you keep watching old DBs in YT? Or are you one and done?
I only watch the fights only

Idk Bardock vs Omni-Man I could see get similar Numbers but Omnilander got a 1Mil in a Day
Everybody probably loved the idea of Homelander getting his shit pushed viciously

Yeah, how fast Omnilander got views basically proved why they did this over Bardock. Because Omniman vs Bardock is worse then this in every way except how close the match is.
But then we are already in the timeline where Omni-Man vs Homelander happens instead of Omni-Man vs Bardock.

What if, just what if, Omni-Man vs Bardock were happening instead and they got 3.2 million clicks instead of 1.6 million clicks a day? They could not regret by then.

(Remember last year they insisted on using Korra vs Storm instead of Korra vs Rey or Korra vs Delsin Rowe or Storm vs Nami or Weather Report vs Nami or Weather Report vs Storm and we have witnessed what happened.)
At least by now they discover some elements to make a successful episode with a spiteful matchup.

What's past is past. We shall look into the future.
