But honestly? Even if I like DBS, Toei are hacks enough to bring back Cell lol:

  • Its a Gohan movie, obviously baiting nostalgia with Cell here
  • They are bringing back Red Ribbon Army and new androids, the story actually could go there easily
  • They already teased something hatching from that ball chamber, at least we could get spiritual successor to Cell
  • Dr. Hedo even has a bug spy machine as well
  • The infamously annoying to animate Cell would be much easier to animate in 3D
  • Previous 2 movies had return of Frieza & Broly, that also fits
I probably missed sth, but I feel Cell can return in Superhero. They have been quite secretive in its trailers so far too.

If you scale to Spawn (assuming that the alternate universe version is as strong as his canon version, ignore that we don't know how Mark did it, and assume he did it physically) yes, Supreme he still gets stomped

Yeah crossovers both in and out of a verse are usually divided into two categories:

*Brief fan service that tries not to ruffle too many feathers.

*An all out affair with a bunch of hype moments (that may cause wonky scaling if it's "canon" but honestly it doesn't matter if the crossover is enjoyable).

Not THAT bad but how good compared to other characters in terms of variety to deliver to Death Battle?

For instance, we have Toppo, Kefla, Dercori, and Hit the choice of hit and more. Jiren is one to match Ultra Instinct Goku sure but that is it.

We can search for who else Goku can fight against if he does not face Superman.

Variety doesn't matter. What matters is getting the most views. Jiren is the strongest antagonist in dbs. That's all he needs to warrent an ep. The only antagonist people care about other than him are frieza and cell. Atrocious or whatever his name is an marvel character so its basically free couple million views.

They literally have nothing in common dude, Mario vs Jiren has more connections. They're also not gonna waste Atrocitus when Asura's been requested to be in DB for years. Quit coping about this season when the only genuinely bad episode so far has been Wanda vs Zee
