Death Battle Season Nine Discussion Thread (1) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I'm starting to hope that Thor ends up losing this battle, just to see the madness that would come afterwards.

And because he disappointed me multiple times as a character, while Vegeta, even with all his jobbing (Something that Thor is also very familiar for, remind you) has become the most appealing and better character out of the two.

So, team Vegeta let's go.
 
Ig it’s pretty subjective but I favor Thor’s MCU characterization a bit more than Vegeta’s (I find Comic Thor a bit boring atm but maybe that’ll change when I finish reading all his appearances).

While Vegeta’s pretty great in Z DBS stuck making him only care about surpassing Goku. Which as a driving goal is kinda hollow since it’s obvious Goku’s always gonna be one step ahead of him due to how their dynamic works (and he’s not even supposed to care about that anymore after his Buu Saga character development). He has some good moments in the DBS manga though.

Disney is hyper paranoid about Multiverse of Madness leaks that they're copyrighting shit that isn't even related to it
 
There’s a chance DB will subvert everyone’s expectations but the odds are greatly in Thor’s favor atm based the previews. There’s no context to the Phoenix Force fight that’d result in Thor not scaling, so to give Vegeta the win they’d either have to pull the outlier card (which is something I’ve only ever done twice) or downplay the Phoenix Force (they literally said the Phoenix Force is equal to Wanda’s Chaos Magic two episodes ago so that’s unlikely).

Peak of writing Vegeta >=Thor

Thor issue is shit being more or less retreads of his previous runs without any interesting payoffs

I have seen Vegeta uses Hakai to EE Thor's axe.

It helped making Blazblue popular to make its chance in coming to Death Battle a bit higher.

Also, since Kyle Rayner may not even win against Simon the Digger (deducing from Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna) so we need a new MU. (Unless you want to say Terumi legit dies to Thaal Sinestro despite his walls of hax protection.)

Oh yeah Zatanna and Swamp Thing are outerverse level according to Wanda vs Zee.

Try to work out what actually kills him and perhaps we have a new combatant.
But likely it is either Sinestro with dimension scaling stomps or Terumi hax stomps with Sinestro getting no dimension scaling.

In fact Sinestro vs Terumi works well as a "great" "filler" "good at all times" episode which is independent of what movie or show or game launches.

(Obviously BlazBlue spoilers)

Letting Terumi into the Susano'o unit was actually a trap. As it was Hakumen's body for the longest time, and Susano'o was known as one of the six great heroes who took down the Black Beast. Combine that with Es putting him into another world or the past or smth (I can't quite tell I only have the cliffnotes version here), and Ragna's able to kill him with a sword that ignores all the rest of his immortalities since he dosn't have fear or hatred to come back from anymore.

No individual killed Terumi, it required a team effort and a game of 4D chess to pull off.

And the ****** might not even be dead since we can see his ghost form's face with Hazama sometimes (Namely certain Astral Finishes) and Hakumen notes that he feels Terumi's presence in the Susano'o Unit on occasion
 
From what I recall hearing, if they give Sinestro Parallax he should be able to deal with Terumi's stuff, but correct me if I'm wrong, I dont follow Sinestro much
 
The only things that should go against SCP being on DB is that it's mostly text and that most SCP characters aren't that well known outside of the SCP wiki. Inconsistency is really only an issue with 682, the Scarlet King, and maybe Dr. Clef.

Vegeta doesn't really job if we are saying he jobs then so does goku.
