So, Gil might have the same problem with Black Hat that he had with Medaka, that being Black Hat's Planet Busting attack seems to happen instantly while Ea has a charge-up phase. As usual with these things though I know next to nothing about Black Hat so the best I can do is this, Black Hat's profile says he hates anything heroic and Gilgamesh is the King of Heroes, so Black Hat gets pissed at Gil's exsistance and magisword/planet busts him immediatly? That seems somewhat in-character from what little I have seen. Just take what I say with a grain of salt.

Also, might just be me, but I'm pretty sure Black Hat's feat of causing Pompeii's volcanic eruption should scale to the rest of his physicals, given how that feat is portrayed in the show.

Yeah, there seems to be no reason to believe Black Hat won't just distainfully blast Gil to death right off the bat. Even if Gil takes this seroiusly, it's the same issue as with Medaka. An instant attack beats an attack with any charge time.

Meanwhile Gil has High 7-A AP with like one weapon, while the Magisword one-shots the Happy Holidays out of Gil.

Who is literally the king of things that Black Hat utterly despises, and even looks like someone who Black Hat would want to wipe from the face of the Earth.
