Imagine having a 5/10 episode for your five season series finale. That is The Boys in a nutshell.Wait show ending is that bad? And people kinda dissed on comic version too.
This was the last season as well right?Man I'm laughing.
You would think this season would give Homelander some actual good feats and nope nothing
Yep last episodeThis was the last season as well right?

Didnt Wesker have Solidus Snake? The Boys Match-Ups:
Homelander vs Albert Wesker (The Boys vs Resident Evil)
I never understood the comparison for Yujiro. I read the comic and watched the show and they’re completely different from what Yujiro is. Comic homelander is just an asshole until the end of the story where he thinks he’s some god amongst men until he realized that he never was. And show Homelander is so inconsistent when it comes to his character that for the final season, he just thinks he’s God, which again nothing to do with Yujiro as a character.Powerscalingwise, at least Comic Homelander went down swinging like a rabid dog. Live Action lander was extraordinarily pathetic and had an extraordinarily pathetic death, Anthony's acting was great though. And to think he used to be compared with Yujiro.
The thing with live action Homelander's pathetic ending is that conceptually it's perfect, this manchild who's coasted along because of his powers getting overpowered for once and becoming a spineless mess because he doesn't know how to respond or function like a normal human being is great. But the buildup to it was so rushed, barely did anything with it, and wrapped up so quickly that it just felt lame. It really feels like last season and esspecially this one they felt like they had to make the ending the same as the comic, realised they can't do that due to the differences the made for the first 3 seasons, and instead of trying to make an original ending that fits their version they scrambled to try and make the original ending work while trying to keep it in line with what they changed before hand and it just doesn't work.Powerscalingwise, at least Comic Homelander went down swinging like a rabid dog. Outside having a son and being the strongest on the planet and it course both being a rapist doesn't really make much senseI never understood the comparison for Yujiro. For the show ig, but the comic he wasn't the strongest it was Black Noir.Outside having a son and being the strongest on the planet and it course both being a rapist doesn't really make much sense
I thought it was Liquid Snake.Didnt Wesker have Solidus Snake?
To be fair Homelander absolutely demolished Noir before his death in the comics. The final barrage is what kills Noir but dude was on death’s door even before that. For the show ig, but the comic he wasn't the strongest it was Black Noir.
The ultimate natural lifeform vs the ultimate manmade creature.I never understood the comparison for Yujiro. Liquid Snake*Didnt Wesker have Solidus Snake?
It was ok ig? It's paced a lot better than I expected, and while I feel some characters did get satisfying endings, some others felt rushed and undercooked. I feel the rest of the season is what soured the finale for me, because in a vacuum, it's just kinda alright but could've been way better.Wait show ending is that bad? And people kinda dissed on comic version too.
You described it perfectly ngl. When Homelander died like that, I should've felt a great level of catharsis and started cheering, but the whole season has been so whatever that all I feel "Oh FINALLY he's dead, moving on".The thing with live action Homelander's pathetic ending is that conceptually it's perfect, this manchild who's coasted along because of his powers getting overpowered for once and becoming a spineless mess because he doesn't know how to respond or function like a normal human being is great. I'll be frank, it work on me, so I was really happy when he died, and I believe any normies might really happy about tv series Homelander died, but well, different views matter so it's not a big dealYou described it perfectly ngl.
