Oh yeah I get it 100%, that's exactly why I said your jokes still make me laugh because a bunch of the fandom is filled with whiny, sore losers (as is every fandom but the ones in the Sonic fandom do a terribly good job at being the loud minority).

Dude the single line from Hal about 'this is for space step mom, you lied to her!' has more comedic value than the Minions in their entirety
 
Does anyone else get put off when a matchup has characters get equipment or feats from random ass tie-ins or comics that are very obviously not meant to be part of the main continuity and only exist to make money? As crappy as they are at least the Megamind sequel and show are meant to be part of the movie's continuity. But stuff like the Megamind DS game or Minion Rush being considered just really bugs me. Felt like this for Stitch vs Rocket too where they gave Stitch random video game shit.

I mean, I'm pretty sure both the Megamind DS game and Minion Rush are official media and (afaik) have no reason not to be canon. I personally don't mind peeps including niche video games and stuff when researching characters, it's fun to learn about them and makes things more interesting.

Also Tipper is right, modern VeeAss is ass. Even DB's rules are whack, one could argue almost every ep could be debatable depending on what their mood is.
 
I'm gonna go ahead and lock in my vote now: rooting and betting Megamind for this.

Don't think that DB is gonna buy the Minions commercial scaling which is the only real thing making Gru's side have an overwhelming advantage. As for the next time... Frankly I just want TravelAang to get it out the way. While I'd love to be surprised by a match we didn't see coming this fight is such a hype vacuum that it just kinda looms over the season.

Imo I feel like TravelAang is gonna come out closer to October to get in on the movie hype, so it's sadly gonna have to loom over us a bit longer.
 
I mean i think the scaling definitely changes stuff about TravelAang so id rather wait till they can officially use it (if it has to be made)

Not to say there isnt truth to it being bad, but lets not pretend the old VS debating was any better, lowballing to hell, not allowed to use any material for your verses, no statements, no databooks/bios, no anything

And we dictate of off vibes whats canon or not for a series, not an ounce of research done you as go by their main source only mainly on vibes

Like will any of you take a look at profiles made from a decade ago with their ratings back then and say the old era was any better in the slightest?

Let alone old death battle too, most modern episodes now arent perfect either, but I wouldnt count the old episodes any better by comparison, they are low effort, outdated and most very bad, at least modern ones do better even if they got flaws too
 
One side of pendulum isnt arguably better than the other extreme side.

Tbh I do agree that modern logic is in theory better than old logic, but I see so much stupid things that Im not that mad if one were to be strict like old times. In some sense, doing weak but shallow research is kind of better than deeply convoluted and messy research.
 
Last hour predictions. Rooting and betting on my goat Megamind. DB is gonna say they're equal in tech and speed, but Megamind is stronger and has a better army. There's gonna be a disguise watch twist in the animation, and maybe a beam clash with Mel and the death ray. The kill is gonna be MM sticking his weapon into Gru's nose as he did to Titan. I'm sensing a DC or Marvel next time since it's been over a year since the last one, but I'm also betting on maybe a Mario mu since the movie is still kinda fresh but I feel like if they had a Mario mu ready to cash in on the move it would have been in place of this one.
 
Honestly the range of stuff can be so whack, that all of physicals, weapons, skill/intelligence and even army could be argued to be equal for GruMegamind. It really depends on what DB Team likes.
