DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

As someone who is banned from the server along with all my alts, I can only get the goings on from second hand sources like Twitter and Reddit and I am STILL super invested in the Champions Island. I personally like all 4 of the finalists so I do not care who wins, but honestly I want them all to win.

If you're talking about stuff like Sakuya vs Fiona or Lieselotte, then yeah, I like those as well. There is one glaring big issue: Fiona and Lieselotte are extremely obscure character and their series are even more niche to the westerners than Touhou, we're not getting them.

Like, the only MU for Sakuya that is popular and the one I don't hate is Bayonetta buuuuut I feel like we're not getting her either, Bayo has more popular runback options.

I not sure, I don't think being niche is that problematic for Death Battle, we have that type of series before, like Elfen Lide. And the champions Polls have a lot of matchups like that, so is not like the crew can't do them.

Also, there's that character from Yokai Watch.

Elfen Lied is not as nearly obscure as Arcana Heart or Trinity Seven

Are they actually? Arcana Heart atleast have Blazblue Cross tag to acknowledge the series existence, but I never heard of Elfen Lied in my life before Death Battle.

But like, my point is that Death Battle don't have a problem with using this type of series.

Unless the next challenge is something like

"You can vote for the option that all the 4 remaining characters gets a episode, but can't choose the matchup, or only 1 character Win, can choose the matchup for them" there's no way Geats is not sweeping the next poll.🤷‍♂️

Closest one I can think of out of all of my Xeno MUs is the reminder of Shion vs Maruki I posted a while back. It's easy to forget Maruki did end up an antagonist/villain, even if he was by no means as malicious as the rest of P5.
 
With the shit DB accepts nowadays, Goku probably beats Sonic in DB.

Stats are even or favor Goku, Dimension of Swirlygig lights is higher dimension and Solaris is higher dimensional being, close enough. DB doesnt seem to easily buy infinite timelines 2-A for Sanic, so oh my multipliers beat Sonic everytime, base and Super. Hell, I might see them use 300x multiplier for Sonic using Shadow Game endings lmao. Speed is same, immeasurable for both if wanked. Super Sonic cant beat multipliers speed without immeasurable tho. I dont think they buy base Sonic outspeeding Namek Meteors trillion x ftl speed either.

Goku takes skill+experience. Sonic mighty be crazy learner but so is Goku. Beerus is also older than anything with real experience Sonic has faced and Goku actually has trained for decades too.

Sonic takes abilities. He has more, but I almost think Goku might resist all. If you use Vegito candy logic he beats Ring Time transmutation kinda too.

They will probably then use "weaknesses" category and deem Goku having less weaknesses. Super Sanic time limit is bad at worst but even "fair" time would be like, 999 rings aka like 14-15 mins. Goku likely can hang 15 mins versus his equal taking his fight vs base Vegeta in Superhero to count.

So like, equal stats but Goku absolutely favors base and multipliers, Sonic only edges if you buy infinite timelines but both have better args so yeah. Sonic has better abilities, but Goku likely resists and has better skill and less weaknesses to fight until Super form runs out.

At least Sonic has won a DB before ig lol
 
I was believer Sonic probably more reliably beats Goku, but DB prolly buys 5D nowadays for Goku and they already give him Immeasurable so its Game Over for rodent.

Oh and no way they buy whatever cosmology pages or Emeroods blogs give in hax to Sonic teehee

Annoyingly they used Infinite Zamasu with Toei anime stuff to support it too, Heroes was extra support. So probably not.

They considered that Cooler intercepting Goku's Instant Transmission and he and Vegeta fighting Zamasu when he became an omnipresent being merged with the timeline "implied" immeasurable speed

Only the latter applies to the DBS Continuity and both feats were used as support rather than being directly treated as factual immeasurable feats, but hey, that's at least something
