Can anyone give me a TLDR version of how strong Clive is and what his abilities are? I know FF protagonists have Multiversal arguments to them, but I know literally nothing about FF16 or Clive

The best live action fight to date, even though Fik-Shun Stegall looks and sounds NOTHING like Blade he definitely got the fighting style and choreography of the Blade movies plus he’s an awesome stuntman so i can excuse it

As I suspected just like Iron-fist and Rocket, Blade's Herald level weaponry/hail mary couldn't save him from getting cooked (also is it me or do Marvel street tier characters have a really bad record against non-DC characters?).
Might attract enough attention here to help complete and publish the FF16 profiles, that said isn't there a FF lorebook coming out next year? (Then again we're getting Aang Vs Aether? while there's ATLA movie coming out next year and Genshin is still very much an ongoing game), hopefully this isn't a sign of the Death Battle curse...
Agreed but honestly a breath of fresh air tbh. Dante Vs Ragna, Dante Vs Kratos, Dante Vs Bayonetta 2, etc are all good MUs but Dante Vs Clive is definitely gonna epic (especially if it lives up to its animation potential).,

Resident Clive expert here .. Endgame Clive is low 2-C but idk if DB will grant him that, lowkey at most I see them either giving him as the High 6-A "Burn the world" statement from earlier in the game, or go off the visuals of the final boss fight to get 4-A since starry sky shit but if they do properly read the lore then Clive will be low 2-C from 2 different feats.
Clive is decently haxy too in his own right but not stuff that's too crazy and has decent hax resistances that I can only hope they'll pick up on since not all are shoved down your throat

Who else you wanted then...Clive at least had more exposure lately being a guest in another series, while Dante had the netflix show, might as well just go for it while both have some relevance around in this modern age

Dante has a scaling chain with tier 2, so realistically even if both are put as cosmic levels, Dante surpassed such levels over his years as of DMC5 in base
Depends honestly how far Death Battle wanna push cosmic levels on both, given Dante had Swan disagree on it, who knows what other researchers think, but then again they let Kratos have it despite most people being against it

Off the top of my head, Kefka from 6, Zidane or Vivi from 9, Tidus or Sin from 10, Lightning from 13 cause it's funny, the boy band from 15 or any character from 14 since that's like the most popular game.

To add to this; the Dissidia mobile game shut down in 2024 and Clive wasn't added to the roster, his appearance in FF14 was all in his head so no WoL/Primal scaling and his Tekken 8 appearance should obviously not be factored in the scaling.
Clive is pretty self-contained with his scaling, feats and lore that said I'm absolutely fascinated to see where the DB crew currently rates DMC these days plus it'll give a proper baseline for Nero in the future.
Agreed, the MU was likely decided long before FF tactics (remake) was announced and as much as I wanted to see a character from FF10, FF14 or even the classic games in DB, FF16 makes the most logical sense and Lightning still has to compete with Noctis, Bahamut, Kefka, etc as the next non-FF7 rep.
Mage Joker is from 6 (or 3 if you're still living in the 90s). Good reps for 4 would be Cecil, Golbez or Kain.

Well AP wise you can argue it's close depending on how strict you are with Dantes cosmic stuff, but even then his scaling chain above his universal stuff is superior to the scaling chain Clive gets for his so he's stronger no matter how you slice it. Speeds the same, you could argue it's not too big a gap if you're more strict with Dante but again his scaling chain for speed is superior and starts from a higher value. Hax wise it's not a contest, Clives got some nice stuff but it pales to what Dantes got to offer.
Could be aruged to be kinda close, can just as easily be argued Dante blitzes and tears poor Clive apart.

I really think it’s quite coming down to like haxs. Death battle it’s probably gonna put them both at universal levels of power and it comes down to their skill, abilities, and experience.
