DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Can we drop the topic and talk about something productive instead? Like how Kirby solos DB combatants?
No, let's talk about how every thread on Reddit has that one guy who calls you a ****************** ****** ******** ***********

Anyway guys gonna post my prediction for the next episode after Blade vs Buffy

Alright here's my overall thoughts about Ruby vs Maka: I think it's a solid 9/10 for me. I'll admit that I don't have as much say to this compared to something like Godzilla vs Hulk or Bowser vs Eggman, but I was pleasantly surprised to see an episode where the animation was very solid, the fight choreography and cinematography was buttery smooth, Maka, Soul, and Ruby were all solidly voiced, and the OST was kickass (the scene where Soul playing on the piano in time with the fight actually got me very hyped). The only real complaint that I have, however minor, is that I think the way they justified Maka fighting Ruby was kind of weak and I think there could've been a better way to write it.

Still, I came out of Ruby vs Maka actually liking it and considering to be one of the best episodes of the KS era, so well done Death Battle. Also, the Monty Oum tribute at the end really tugged at my heartstrings because of how sweet it was.

weekly if you do not have "ego" than what drives you to fully believe that ruby beats maka since 99% of people always believed that maka won and death battle agreed with the majority instead of you?

Most Battles in Death Battle this Season were Obvious Stomps

Only Exception were Omnidock (Holy fking Curveball). The rest are debatable at least (Bowser vs Eggman, Simon vs Hal, Godzilla vs Hulk)

I'm 90% sure that having a strong opinion about something has nothing to do with ego.

While we're at it, I liked the episode.
On the other hand, I should have expected it... but it spoiled a lot of Soul Eater for me.

Okubo (the creator of Soul Eater/Fire Force) is pretty active on Twitter. Wonder if there's any chance he'd notice this death battle.

I'm no neurologist, so I won't examine or question the injury or how it would affect you, but all the same I'm sorry that happened.
No worries, it happened when I was a toddler, I don't even remember it happening. Fell through a screen door onto a bunch of cinder blocks my family was using as a makeshift staircase. Cracked my head and then landed on my face, sent a few of my teeth through my bottom lip. Fun times.
As for not being egocentric, if that's true, then I pose a question to you. Why do you think other people insist that Maka winning was correct?
A roughly 60/40 split of not knowing the source material (this is gleaned from the past year of debating, where almost no one who was arguing for Maka actually knew anything about Soul Eater and were either going off of the abysmal vsbw profile for her or were using stuff from the anime, which is non-canon) and people spiting RWBY over previous matches and general distaste for the series (again, speaking from personal experience). Up until this past week it was a 75/25 split but the fact that the DB and DBM subreddits as well as DBwiki spent this past week preemptively celebrating Ruby's death to the point that the admins of those subreddits had to ban the act of doing so pushes it up to 40.

She was holding Soul at that moment, not Spirit.
No, she was holding spirit. She was physically incapable of holding Soul due to crona's poison so she had to wield spirit to fight crona because their father-daughter wavelength was strong enough to overcome the effects of the poison

Calling myself a Liar and betting $1300 is insane Dawg

What compelled you to do this
My research. I spent almost a full year going through everything for both combatants, read soul eater cover to cover four times for this matchup, dropped a few hundred dollars on the Japanese exclusive guidebooks, all to scale both characters properly, and at the end of that research I concluded that Ruby would win in a close fight. I expected DB to have research of a similar quality.
