Surprisingly they actually argued that Silver Eyes could work on Maka (since BB is powered by madness wavelengths), but since Maka survived Asura's attack, she'd be able to survive it.

If anything it would be an accidental kill. She snags Soul with her Semblance and removes him from the battlefield, then goes back in for another attack which just accidentally oneshots Maka much to Ruby's horror, not realizing that she doesn't actually have Aura and that the Black Blood is what was protecting her but no longer as her Resonance with Soul was severed.

I mean DB's pretty charitable when it comes to equating different power systems for the longest time now, so I can understand them arguing that the nature of Grimm and Madness Wavelengths are pretty similar to each other. Still, as you said, it doesn't change the fact that Maka's survived stuff similar to the Silver Eyes so it's a moot point in Ruby's favor

Soul Resonance is Maka resonating with Soul, this brings her up from Wall-Building level and Subsonic to Town level and Relativistic
Chain Resonance is Maka and Soul resonating with Kid and BlackStar, this brings her up from Town level and Relativistic to Country-Multiversal and FTL

The thing about Silver Eyes is that even if it works, it's not as if it would instantly give her the win. Cinder has been hit by it and been fine, The Hound survived specifically because it was still human underneath the Grimm shell. With the AP and Dura gap maka would just chop Ruby and kaboom.
