DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

If SP nonsense gives Godzilla the win I will apologize and kneel to SP (it’s still a terrible show lol)

Time for a real debate.

Since they put Wile as first name, it implies he is more popular one. But is Wile really more popular than Tom?
I would say the Tom & Jerry franchise is more famous than Looney Tunes across the world

But i heavily doubt there's a real way to measure which character is more famous than the other, like, they're both characters which you learn about the moment you're born

Thoughts on Eric Cartman vs Gumball Watterson?
They don't match at all, the biggest attractive to the matchup is how shocked Gumball would be to see someone like Cartman, but it doesn't has anything beyond that

Finally got time to watch Tom's preview

It was great, they didn't give him crazy levels of AP or Speed but i think they will certainly save those for the actual episode, otherwise Tom is showed to have some great hax, although Coyote has his version of Tom's abilities and equipment via his own equipments, Toon Physiology and Cartoon Physics study (Which i doubt they will deeply explore on the ep, but it would be at least cool for them to acknowledge)

One argument i can see being used is that, while Tom only has 9 lives and would need to go through a long journey across hell to get them back, Wile can effortlessly always come back with his regeneration instants after being killed (Not to mention, Wile's Low-Godly regen is higher than the Mid-High feats they mentioned for Tom)

Despite that, i have a gut feeling that Tom will win the ep, even with myself being a giant fan of Looney Tunes.

Overall, i'm expecting the hell out of a good episode

Save me Ewing. Give me an Immortal Sentry series
Not happening. Especially not after that Sentry mini series where they gave his powers to a disabled chick who we haven't seen shown up again. I don't think Marvel wants to deal with the controversy of creating a black disabled female character just to do absolutely nothing with her for over a year and then have Bob show up and upstage her.

Personally I think the character is extremely lame because part of Sentry's appeal was the Void. But neither her nor any of the other characters who temporarily had Sentry's powers had to deal with the Void.

ant king from solo leveling
Surprising. If I type Ant King into the search bar, it attempts to redirect... & takes me to the profile of a character from LIVE A LIVE.
Did Solo Levelling get its verse deleted from the Wiki for some reason?

It never got pages, just calculations.

I used to hate on Sword Art Online but watching Solo Leveling I now understand how people could like SAO. SL has become a massive guilty pleasure for me despite having the depth of tissue paper.

Most of its hate was unwarranted with alicilization being their biggest point

Without context it looks like some twisted fanfic alternate universe where Professor X is a woman and somehow ended up with Sentry's powers.
According to the Marvel Wiki, the context is this:

"Following his departure, Sentry's power would be split and transferred to various individuals who were shot by a member of the Blasphemy Cartel. These included: Mallory Gibbs, Farhad Anand, Ryan Topper, Marvin Chow, Rosalinda Bruno, and Deniz Derya, who beside receiving fractions of Sentry's power, also began seeing his memories. Topper would go on to kill most of those who had received the fragments of the power in order to claim the full power just for himself and be the successor of Sentry. However, he momentarily spared Gibbs, allowing the latter to embrace her status as a super hero, defeat Topper and use her newfound powers for the greater good."

(As depicted in Sentry Vol 4 Issues 1 through 4)

Genuinely, Death Battle has knocked it out of the park with every episode they've done involving a Toon Force character (Mask vs Deadpool, SpongeBob vs Aquaman, and Scooby Doo vs Courage). And the way it's shaping up to be: Tom and Wile might end up being the most powerful Toon Force characters on the show thus far, and I fully support DB going all out with the fourth wall breaking and cartoon shenanigans.

Okay

I kind of imagine the fight starts with Bruce at his lab when he hears rumbling and sees Godzilla destroying the city. He becomes Hulk and jumps out. I don't know which version of Godzilla they will use at this point, probably Heisei. Godzilla and base Hulk fight and Hulk is winning causing Godzilla to exert more and more power until he starts melting down. Hulk realizes he's a threat to the Earth so grabs Godzilla by the tail and throws him into deep space. Hulk is releaved until another Godzilla (Maybe Shin?) appears and Hulk disposes of that, that's when reality starts breaking down to reveal Ultima. As Hulk clashes with Ultima space-time starts breaking down until it shatters all reality to reveal the Omega Point and a multiverse of Godzillas surrounding Hulk. Queue a fight of him wrestling the multiverse of Godzillas as the Omega Point is also hitting Hulk. Hulk goes World Breaker and thunderclaps the entire multiverse away, leaving Hulk in the face of IT.

IDK who wins at this point. I would say Hulk goes devil mode and does one final thunderclap as IT is trying to annihilate Hulk, or IT pulls a Thanoseid and proves too ontologically transcendent for Hulk by Death Battle's standards. I don't know which.

I'm still having a hard time seeing how Hulk even reaches IT, let alone kill it. He's got the physical AP and likely the range to kill if he could get his hands on the thing, but Hulk traditionally doesn't travel through dimensions, and anytime he interacts with space/time anomalies and such, it's because there's a conveniently placed portal or MacGuffin nearby to facilitate the interaction.

Godzilla isn't going to be leading Hulk to his true form, so Hulk is going to have to figure out a way to navigate himself there.

He’d just punch hard enough to break spacetime

Sentry's powers involve regenerate from molecules, right? Shouldn't she be able to walk again?

Ok but like...how?

There's one instance I know of where he did such a thing, but the timestream was already broken, and he, again, had to punch through a medium that allowed the interaction to occur.

IDK, that’s probably how they would do it in a fight in order to make an interesting animation. It also feels in character for him.

He's punched higher dimensional stuff before I'm pretty sure, like Gwenpool's Gutter Space which is a realm outside of the comic panels iirc. There are more examples but that's the one I have off the top of my head.
