DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Oh boy a hax battle with DB Lantern that were said to be able to do "anything" in the preview :V
Thankfully Simon more or less counters every "everything" a Green Lantern Ring has done, WLR too. The only things that could stop him are hard law manipulation and reality warping, things only the Life Equation can do

(And no, manipulating a planck constant isn't law manip)

I have no idea what theyll actually do but I presume Kyle gets leniency as usual.

...Oh and someone new came to post here. Neat.

Same argument they used in GR vs Spawn basically
well in that, they explicitly gave GR the power advantage by a significant degree, even stating in the popup that Zarathos's scaling to Galactus outdoes anything Spawn can reach. In Billcord, both fighters were relatively equal but the popup said higher cosmology arguments favored Bill.

Hi. I was originally active on the DB fandom site but I did use this site and visit this forum pretty frequently. I only just now registered here though and hopefully I can start contributing to character profiles when I'm ready.

Pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Which verses are you into? How annoying you might find me depends how much you're into Xeno JRPGs

I like a lot of things but mostly shonen like the usual Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, JJBA; comics like Marvel, DC, and Invincible but I'm trying to read more indie series; movies/books like Star Wars, LotR, Harry Potter, and more but those seem to be the main ones that are prevalent in powerscaling; video games is a grab bag of shooters, some RPGs, fighting games, and platformers. I'm not that versed in Xeno series because I haven't played any of its games but I'm interested in its lore since I really like futuristic godly worlds like that and Final Fantasy.

The big ones or?

Yeah mainly MK, SF, and Tekken but SF is the only one I competitively follow, as well as Melee if you count that. I did for Strive and MvC for a little bit too but fell out of them and I have some minor knowledge on FF/KoF. I've also learned about Darkstalkers and BlazBlue from powerscaling but not really as games.

Pretty sure Zero is about to be stronger than Meta Knight by VSBW stats (but still massively slower)

So infinite dimensional DC is looking shaky, but this is the most compelling argument?

The arguments are going over my head, does anyone know what the conclusion about the dimensions here was?

Kyle's case is different unlike Doomslayer and Kratos because this isn't lore debating, this is Death Battle having no consistent standards with how to scale DC Comics. And no clear explanation of the cosmology or differentiation between emanation and godhead or the like.

Oh right, ALE Spectre unmade the entire multiverse in Final Crisis. I think I mentioned that, LE Kyle would scale to that. That's still only Orrery level.

We still have Orrery at only High 1-C. The entire material plane aka Bleedspace is low 1-A, but there's no evidence Kyle ever reaches Bleedspace level.
Kek. Kyle is purely relying on lore considering that his feats are...Lacking at best (and the ones who can actually match simons one are straight up nonsense).

Its a nuanced discussion. DC is strong verse, so in theory even if DC does win a lot, that itself doesnt mean they are biased for DC.

Its the fact that they do show a lot of leniency for DC, like how supposedly the Kyle big bang feat has caveats that they ignore and for Raven's stats were contested as well.

Anyone else feel like DB gives DC a lot of leniency in using some feats?
If you blatantly ignore how they don't ******* use outliers, and anti feats. And how GvS1 was basically saying "UUUUUUUUUUH SUPERMAN SO STRONG, AND OMNIPOTENT, HE IS UNBEATABLE...Just ignore the times he has gotten harmed by like building level stuff, okay?"

That was GvS2 that did it. GvS1 was mostly just them doing shoddy calculations and mentioning character core for like 30 seconds.

Also most of the times Superman actually got hurt from building to continental stuff was early in Post Crisis before his training with Mongul especially.

You know I've been thinking: if the Torrian episode ends up being Maka vs Ruby Rose, I think it'll have to be hard carried by Torrian in all honesty. Soul Eater isn't exactly a popular anime these days and RWBY, despite me being a fan of everything post Volume 3, has a very divisive audience behind it who either like it or really hate it.

I don't know, it just feels like Ruby vs Maka should've happened years ago while the iron was still hot. And while I think it has the potential to be a moderate success, I'm skeptical that it'll be anything above moderate.

You know very well what they meant when they hyped superman as this infinite being in GvS1.
Except they didn't. They used fairly grounded feats for Superman, and just at the very end when the statistical disparity they believed was apparent was presented they then said "It wouldn't matter because Superman has no limits and Goku has limits to give, yadayada" but beyond that nothing else. Really what was egregious in GvS1 was they used a GT Anime Goku and had him at like 5-A because they banned scaling making him rely on shoddy feats to gauge his "limits"

It was Goku vs Superman 2 where they went hard on him being infinite.

I know it's been 10 years since GvS2, but that's the timeline.

Wouldn't be the first time DB cared more about a character/series than the people actually behind said character/series...

Hypothetically would Simon be able to absorb White Lantern Energy, considering Spiral Power is the cosmic force that ties Spiral lifeforms to the infinite Universe, where Spirals synchronize with spiral galaxies through a "complex and enormous electric signal from the nervous centre" (referred to as their willpower)? Simon would effectively in base, be absorbing cosmic life energy from spiral galaxies passively anyway

Is that wrong or right?
I dont care if its wrong or right its just another ******* wank fest for series that was not Uni for ages. Sure sure, series that takes place one planet as main setting is totally uni legit teehee (did alien planets even factor in MMX lore? There was Duo in og but pffft)

From quick glance its pocket dimensions and maybe that newer mobile game shit so perhaps there is chance valid new stuff but like maaaan, no.

Low Multiversal Mega Man X.
3D Universal and 4D Universal are basically the same thing. Even DB has never made distinct difference for those lol
