Dragon Ball: Finite Universe

The problem is not of translation, the op said that the translations are correct, the problem is the interpretation, even the guy who translated the scans agrees that it is better to not treat it as literal infinite
Well the main arguments were translation related if someone is gonna redo this crt they gotta get a translator to translate it and give the context of the scan and what it implies most of us aren’t Japanese

Y'all do realize that instead of complaining about the revision going through, you can still argue against it right? The grace period isn't over

And yet, you said this in the previous page:

You pretty much confirmed that you have no interest to contribute to this thread by showing (in detail, and covering the OP) your counter arguments. Instead, you only care about the verse having an infinite universe, and you're willing to soon create another CRT in response to this one, rather than actually debate here.

It's safe to say that you are biased with Dragon Ball and, as such, your presence on this discussion is irrelevant. Quoting LephyrTheRevanchist:
Also, this kinda stuff is completely unnecessary. Accusations of motives and taunting like this ain't gonna help anything and only just antagonizes people further, so please stop with these

I agree with you, but you should've rather said that directly to the user I've replied, whose participation on this thread was unnecessary. Besides that, I'm free to debate with anyone about the topic.

The problem is that we are not Japanese to look at whether this is right or wrong, we already have three staff members agreeing on this.
I mean, even If you argue about the translations, no one said anything about the inconsistent section, you still would have to argue against that.
Should't be hard trought.

But he is literally saying that quotes are hyperbole and poetry, I tried that, my friends tried too, but people were agreeing and not seeing the counterarguments in agreement, so that's what it turned out to be, more than three administrators agreeing as being hyperboles or poetry. I also don't have much knowledge about the Japanese dictionary, which he used during the Op, basically we can't do anything about it.

I know who I'm addressing, that being the one making accusations like this and also not helping matters either by saying stuff like "whose participation on this thread was unnecessary." Anyone's free to participate in CRTs unless it's a staff-only thread

or they saw and still disagreed, you can't assume that they did or did not

, so that's what it turned out to be, more than three administrators agreeing as being hyperboles or poetry
dude this is not even the main point in the op

Ask another translator?

We already got, @Executor_N0 commented and he agreed that it is best to not take it as literal infinite
"I explained when I gave it the translation before, it all boils down to how each person will understand that stuff. It's perfectly possible to someone understand any mention of "infinitely expensive" as "something that is finite, but is constantly growing at a fast pace" or "it's infinite and always growing because of that". I say that from personal experience because I have seen both cases coexisting in the Digimon series, for example. After that point it all that matters is how someone will decide to understand that as literal or not, and that is something I can't say anything about"
You talking about this right?

No
"As such, the end of the thread already gives another reason to discuss it, as even if there were just uses of "mugen" isolated without any word about "expansion", it could still be something to be contested in regards to how the cosmology itself works in experience, and that seems to be the biggest reason why it might be better to not see the world of DB as being usable infinite."

Oh ok...

if the majority agreed then is dbz debunked? lol
but its really surprising that this was accepted considering it had rules on not changing the cosmology kek
but i dont get it
the word Hateshinai can be interpreted as both truly bring infinite or just being some poetry with most of the times being poetry, but the director himself said that the universe is infinite (even if he is unreliable) it should be interpreted as how the creator wants right?
but ig this point was brought up and got shotdown

Akira never said that it was infinite, and the show has statements that imply that it isn't infinite, so

I strongly disagree with this, the director of DBZ stated that it is quoted that the Universe is infinite, and according to him the guide is right in saying that it is infinite in size.

Where it is quoted:

In addition to sustaining with his words that the Universe is infinite in size not only once, but also twice.

Source where it was mentioned:

when is this thread getting closed?
i really didnt expect for dbz to get debunked kek
not in 4 pages too
Eh. DBZ isn't really debunked. It secures speed scaling (although it might be cut in half due to a CRT that applied to macrocosm calcs) since infinite speed wouldve most definitely be considered an outlier. Although a low 2-C qualifying space-time was lost. Good and bad came out of it.

what was lost?

I'm not sure if the people who agreed in this CRT either:

1. Agreed mostly because the reason of the statements being misinterpretation.
2. Agreed mostly because the Inconsistencies section.
3. Agreed equally to the two above.

If most of the people here agreed mostly because of the inconsistencies in the series, I think the next CRT I'll make about DB will be much more simple than this one. Regardless, thanks to everyone who participate.
