the problem isn't a variety of new franchises (introducing League and Demon Slayer is great) its just that we're getting comics constantly this season to where literally everyone is tired of it even among casuals judging by the slow view count the first two episodes got, there's a chance that we might unironically get 3 marvel matches in a row too with Mags, Star Lord, and Thor.
They need to spread it out more across the season, the last season did it perfectly fine so idk why they're suddenly spamming comic matches now. Also assuming Magneto is Tetsuo's opponent and that Star Lord doesn't happen we've nearly reached the amount of comic matches last season had in the first 5 episodes.

The opponents Boba Fett have for a Death Battle episode:
Predator - most requested matchup tbh. Has been on Community Death Battle.
Star-lord - somehow 2nd most requested matchup. Comes with hatred of "too many Marvel". Has been on Super Power Beat Down.
Prophet - more a MU for Predator
Captain Shepherd - more a MU for Star-lord
I mean, Predator is actually the top choice for Boba Fett.
And a Boba Fett MU can be made a 2d, 3d or even live action episode.
Meanwhile, will Thor vs Vegeta be in 3D (hope it is in 3d - and one that is not cranky like Thor vs Wonder Woman or Susanoo Madara vs Hado 99 Aizen)
Verdict and death battle animation aside... I find it funny people generally enjoy Thor more at times Thor winning against mighty opponents or at missions, and enjoy Vegeta more at times he is losing or is struggling hard to win just to admit the bitter challenge just endeavoured.

Its a literal 4Chan point, but at the same time its happened way too much at this point. Wanda vs Zatanna, Harley vs Jinx, Korra vs Storm, Blake vs Mikasa, Batgirl vs Spider-Gwen, She-Ra vs WW, Canary vs Sindel, Weiss vs Mitsuru, Widow vs Widow.
Its sad that the stereotype claim has a point, sigh...
- Every other RT show in YT does significantly worse than DB. MM vs KAM is a hit compared to RT's channels shows

Is there just something common within such matchups? Other than just being female vs female?
This kind of curses some potential MUs, like matchups with Supergirl, She-Hulk, Sakura Kinomoto, Reimu Hakurei, Kurumi Tokisaki, I-No and Homura... Actually a lot of female characters whose "more requested" characters also happen to be female.
Back then She-Ra vs Wonder Woman was kind of more requested than Rogue or even Thor - the audience clicks just... gets not as expected.

Can be explained by the fact that the fans want to polish the gender win rate ratio - there are 14 out of 23 (DBW data) episodes that "female" combatants would win over "male" combatants in all male vs female Death Battle episodes.
Or just a coincidence that the male combatants picked in DBX are just overall better than the "pit" female combatants.

Like potentially surpassing Weiss Schnee vs Mitsuru Kirijo stompiest? (Can Phoenix Wright vs Battler Ushiromiya be even stompier? Like Layton vs Phoenix Wright vs Makoto Naegi are the more popular pair ups in the west)
(Discounting Bomberman vs Dig Dug and Yang Xiao Long vs Tifa Lockhart where the crew screwed them up.)
