Reforged Ideals Thread 8

"Oh, I see. A blade, forged in ore from the highest mountains that absorbs the power of the sun onto itself. It has sliced off the head of countless demons and saved many lives. It was once wielded by a warrior of kindness, whose skill let him become indistinguishable from the world itself. Is that an apt description?"

"Does the world see us like that though? I know they're aware of this fortress, but they should not be directly aware of myself and Kyouka." The armor answers.

Nicholas continues working.
 
If I try to hide it will just be awkward, just move forward and try to be normal

Kyouka composes herself and enters Nicholas' lab

"Hey so, what have you been working on?" She asks

"Huh, the UK. Always wanted to visit a classy place and drink some tea. Can you teleport? Though i don't mind flying towards there"

Dilma says to her Flame Girlfriend

She than thinks a little and ask the Pyromancer in a serious tone

"Actually, if there is any problem, can i ask you a favor?"
 
"Ah, hello. I can show you, if you'd like. I am preparing what is likely my grandest project yet." Nicholas says, sounding slightly excited, unusually for him.
 
"Certainly. Let's go then." Nicholas opens a portal next to himself and waits for Kyouka to enter before entering himself.

What they would see once they exit the portal was a massive facility floating in the vacuum of space with wide windows showing this. Kyouka could feel that she was very far away from Earth at this location.

"Behold, my grandest project yet, The Network!" Nicholas declares.

The facility has several hallways, each with their own portal devices, connected to entirely different locations, spanning across vast distances. Some of the portal halls are way larger than the others, the facility itself being the size of a small city. Armors and robotic bodies could be seen around the area, managing things, reinforcing areas and doing other similar tasks.
 
"Wow, this is so cool!" Kyouka says looking around

"Where do these portals lead?" She asks
 
Crunkledunk follows Nicholas "hey, huh- well this is interesting I suppose, I was doing something like that"
 
"All across the universe. They can be configured to any location, but currently the existing ones are set to different habitable planets in this galaxy. We are currently located 35 lightyears away from planet Earth. The facility itself can also be transported to practically anywhere, it is akin to a ship in that regard." Nicholas explains somewhat excitedly.
 
Looks like he's proud of this.

"So are you trying to colonize other planets right now?"
 
"Well, yes. Though obviously I don't want to conquer anything, so only planets without intelligent life will be colonized. I can modify the human biology to allow people to live on them without causing mass harm. Bringing humanity to other worlds greatly increases its chance of survival and prosperity in the future." He explains.

"If needed, I can produce more of these facilities easily, though one should be enough to start."
 
"Well you have somewhat outdone yourself I suppose. I can set up Mars for you right now if you desire"
 
"Well that's good, colonized planets will help humans in the future. I can see why you've been excited about this, you've done good."
 
"The more help, the better, so go ahead." Nicholas says to Crunkledunk before turning to Kyouka.

"Thanks. I believe what I feel now is happiness, at hearing you say that." He pauses.

"Well, I'll have a connected portal in my lab for this, so you have free access to this place." He says.


Jonathan seemed to have been looking at something, a different device, for a brief moment, he looks slightly amused.
 
"Well before I leave, is there anything I can do to help or assist you? I know I'm not as smart as you or Crunkledunk but I still want to try to help considering all you've done for me so far."

And to make up for that thing in the bar
 
Crunkledunk's face appears on Mars after a few minutes, in the form of a metal colonisation station
 
Ever the showman, isn't he?

"Well, I already asked for you help with learning to be more human, didn't I? Could you also help me find a way to announce this facility that doesn't scare people? The world seems to be in a not insignificant state of turmoil right now." Nicholas asks.
 
"Ok. Maybe Fujin's news network would be a good way to announce the facility? Even with the fear I'm sure she still has plenty of loyal fans."
 
I finish going around and upgrading stuff (ask Phoenix for details). I notice my Soul Gem has been a lot darker than before, which is a problem.

I search for Nicholas, or one of his armors.
 
He finds himself at the facility, as described before.

"Ah, hello, welcome, I was going to ask for your help with something, but it seems you need help yourself. This is The Network, a project of mine that connects worlds across the universe together. You are welcome to use it whenever." Nicholas states.
 
Fujin enters the portal and starts rapidly taking as many perfect pictures as possible and recording everything she see's. "This is..." She breaths in to calm herself. "...this is very big News."
 
"So much that we could file a lawsuit against you for the multiple crimes you have and will commit via reporting about an undisclosed project. Unless of course, you were to help us" Crunkledunk states to Fujin
 
"Oh come now, no need to be like that. I wanted to ask for help from both you. The world isn't in a great state right now, so I'd like you to try and present this place to people in a way that won't scare them." Nicholas explains.

Fujin rolls her eye's.

@Phoenix

Fujin nods her head. "But of course." She takes some more perfect pictures.
 
"Well I was just trying to scare them into doing what I wanted to do, but you do it how you wish. Oh I've also got a few projects of my own"
 
Well I guess I don't need to head out to ask them now Kyouka thinks, watching the bird take pictures
 
"As observant as ever. This is an interesting place and all, but i need a favor."

I take out my soul gem. "As you can see, i am getting corrupted. It's a natural process, but it is still dangerous. If it gets fully corrupted, i would turn into a Witch... and i don't think you guys could defeat me. Do you have a form of purifying it?"
 
"Well then. I had actually predicted this would come up, from analyzing you earlier. A device that cleanses souls, a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands, but a useful tool in this case." Nicholas takes out a small device with a container large enough to fit a soul gem inside it.

"Here. Place this inside and start the device with the button. It should remove any corruption in that soul gem of yours. You can keep the device for whenever you need it." He explains.
 
"Well, this is convinient."

I take Crunkledunk's mixture for latter use and put my soul gem inside the machine. It cleans up pretty nice.

"That worked. Nice. Now i owe you one again. Did you need my help?"
