RWBY Revision´Part III: Deciding the Stats

@Hagane Basically Mercury did as much damage as he possibly could have to Yang without reducing her Aura to a level where she would lose the match, then left himself open on purpose to be taken out by her semblance amped attacks

@Kep Would it be too much of a stretch to say Post Timeskip Yang with her Semblance is 8-B given how she's already a good ways into High 8-C via scaling and it gives her a bare minimum 2x boost?

Not really. If you assume Post-Timeskip is 2x stronger than Pre-Timeskip, and then double Yang's power on top of that, it'd only be 6 tons.

Yang doesn't really have a strict tier anyway, considering how her Semblance works.

@Weekly, Okay, I think I can accept maybe 8-B Mercury, but it is not a bad idea if maybe we can watch that fight again just to make sure:

RWBY Yang Vs Mercury
RWBY Yang Vs Mercury

Say, where's Kep? He said he was going to make the edits right? But how long is he going to be absent?

@Kep Yang = Mercury > Yatsuhashi = Velvet who destroyed those Paladins with weapons other than Penny's swords

Yang isnt equal to Mercury Mercury was holding back and easily beating her in V5 alone.

And Yatsuhashi got punched back by the mech

I agree and disagree.

Mercury whooped Yang's butt in Volume 3 and lost on purpose.

But we never saw Yang fight Mercury 1v1 in Volume 5, in case you forgot Emerald was backing him up every time we saw them fighting.

Mercury only fought Yang twice alone. The first time he easily crushed her and lost on purpose. The second time they fought we never saw it. (Like most of Volume 5 fights)

We saw two seconds of Mercury fighting Yang and none of them landed a hit on each other. The next time we see them fight Emerald is backing Mercury up with her Semblance.

Then when Ruby comes in Yang goes for Emerald while Ruby takes Mercury (We didn't see this either)

So you can't really say if Mercury is stronger or weaker then Yang as of now.

I just rewatched the 1st fight above and I'd say that Yang and Mercury were pretty comparable but Mercury was faster than Yang. Yang only got the edge when she got mad and used her semblance.

Mercury lost that fight on purpose.

Mercury never fights using his hand but for some reason he starts throwing punches. Then when he almost gets knocked out Yang can't hit him anymore till she uses her Semblance.

(Which we knew he lost on purpose)

Mercury was able to keep Pyrrha on her toes. And she hasnt really shown to get stronger in v5.

And he was actually seen another time where he was kicking her about easily.

Mercury still stomps Yang and is on a different level

I do understand where you're coming from Jinx since Yang probably had the least amount of growth from Volume 3 to 5 consider that 90 percent of her time was her dealing with her problems instead of training.

We know she at least had weeks of training with Tai before leaving but it doesn't compared to the six to eight months team RNJR had.

I just think it's a little to early tell.

I mean Hazel Emerald and Mercury were holding off the entirety of the cast. Hes still not equal to Yang and more on a higher level from the students. Especially having much stronger feats to justify 8-B.

He should still be on the same levels as Pyrrha, as well as Emerald.

At around 0:30-1:12 of the video above Yang does get a few hits. And I said that Mercury is more likely to be faster than Yang, whether he's stronger than Yang is still something up in the air.

Also Yatsuhashi who should be stronger then Base Yang was completely stomped by Mercury.

Heck Mercury blocked Yatsuhashi's strongest attack casually.

Okay, when are the downgrades/edits going to be made now? This thread have been going on for quite a time and I still see the characters under the incorrect tier.
