Ragnarök-RP Thread

After a few minutes, Gabriel stood up. "I appreciate you not interrupting me during prayer, Lance. What do you want?" She said coldly, "Is that any way to talk to your superior, Artensia?" Metatron said, turning into his human form.

"Metatron... You are not a conventional angel, therefore, I do not serve you." Gabriel said, sneering. "Unconventional? Most definitely. But still sort of an angel of the highest rank, a Seraphim. Which means I have authority over you, a mere Archangel." Metatron said, smirking.

"Ugh..." Gabriel thought to herself.

"Ugh, a Seraphim, simply put, is the highest-ranking angel of the lord... They have 6 wings. Normal Angels have 2 wings, and Archangels such as myself have 4 wings. Although Metatron is in no way a conventional angel of the lord, he seems to enjoy attempting to flex his authority..." Gabriel said, annoyance in her voice.

"It doesn't matter." Metatron cut Gabriel off before she could say anything, "Angel of the Lord? What lord do you pray to? I assume you've got no answers from this god that you pray to, Gabriel. Not surprising, as he doesn't exist." Metatron said bluntly, to which she got no answer from Gabriel.

"Tsk... Don't want to admit it? Whatever. Allow your faith to blind you. Mortal, come along. We have no business with this girl." Metatron said.

"Sounds about right for that Seraphim." Draedon said, having listened in and used a portal to enter the church just then

"Hmmm, though I do wonder where that demonic entity I detected is, they've been snooping around quite a bit around my lord's castle and my own labs."

Gabriel clenched her fists before getting back on her knees and praying, "...I already know that. I already know that nobody is listening to my prayers and my pleas. But it's all I can do..." Gabriel thought.

"It is all that I can do besides healing, as I am not that useful in combat. I pray that my brother returns home to his castle safely..." Gabriel thought to herself.

As the roots of the Qliphoth continued to fester within Belial's body, weird entities began to sprout from his flesh. "...What is this." Belial thought to himself, looking at what was sprouted from his body.

"You are a Maou-Class demonic entity... Did I produce you? No No, it wasn't me. It was these roots within my body." Belial thought. The demon flew away, grotesque wings sprouting from its back in a mere instant, flying towards Yharon's castle. "I am far too weak to stop you myself in this state..." Belial said.

"I guess all I can do is observe."

Lances turned to Metatron.

"Sir...may I ask why your relationship with the archangel is so...hostile? I never would have presumed that two angels would throw insults and bicker like the two of you did" Lance asked, adopting a polite tone.
"I do not respect angels. I never have, and I never will respect them. They are beings blinded by their faith in a God that does not exist, oblivious to the world around them. Mortals and ignorant angels such as her are simply two sides of the same coin." Metatron said bluntly.

"And as such, I do not respect you... Mortal. I preserve your life under contract, and that is all."

"I already know you don't respect me, my good sir, you've made that abundantly clear," Lance said plainly. though the comment hurt him, more so than he thought it would.

"Is there anyone out there that you do respect? surely you do not have a feeling of disdain and apathy for every being." Lance asked.

"Hah! Of course I do not hold disdain for everybody. I do not believe that anybody really does..." Metatron said mockingly. "Somebody that I respect, huh?" Metatron thought.

"There is one person."

"Do you mock me, mortal? For such insolence I should have your groins removed and pinned to a cross..." Metatron said coldly.
"No no no!," Lance said quickly.

"my apologizes for the rudeness sir, there will be no need for any punishments of that sort," Lance said nervously.

"I am genuinely curious about this man who commanded the respect of such a great and powerful being such as yourself! truly he must have been legendary!" Lance said, now completely genuine with his words.

Metatron went silent for a few seconds, sighing heavily. "His name was Canopus." He said softly. "And yes, he was indeed a man of many great exploits..."

Lance looked at Meatron, now even more curious.

"tell me more my good sir! I do quite enjoy hearing the exploits of past heroes!" Lance said.
"Yes, Canopus was a great man. A very great man, indeed. Far greater than anybody you have ever witnessed... He was compassionate, accepting, and strong. He would hear anybody out, even if they were the most vile person in existence. He was and will always be the only man I will willingly address as Master..." Metatron said.

“This Canopus sounds like a great man indeed. I wish I could have met such a hero!” Lance said, nodding in approval.

Lance went silent for a moment, before continuing.

"....I can't say ill ever measure up to a man such as that. but because you took a chance on me Meatron...."

"I'm going to try to become someone who can earn your respect!" Lance said a smile on his face.

"Canopus was a fool."

Metatron's face turned... cold. Empty and stagnant. "His kindness blinded him to the big picture. He opened himself up to the evils of this world unwillingly... And on his quest for greatness, he destroyed himself. He was killed in a great war of stars, by his very own brother..." Metatron said.

"In the end, Canopus wasn't able to use my true power. Nobody has. And I don't expect you to be able to. Definitely not you... Somebody who cannot make me call them my true Master. It is impossible."

The demon arrived at Yharon's city, his gaze seeing everything that was going on there before turning and flying back to Belial...

Landing in front of the boy-calamity was a humanoid being in a red pin striped suit, wearing black gloves and shoes, somewhat ornate circular glasses, with black hair slicked back and a smile on his face.

"it is the shame what happened to your master Canopus. for a great man such as him to be slain by his own brother....truly unfortunate." Lance said, sympathy in his voice.

"Impossible or not....while I rise to greatness within the dream world, I hope that one day, you will regard me as more than a nuisance or a mere mortal. I don't request that you call me master, I am nobody master, but I do hope...one day....we can share mutual respect or companionship" Lance said.

"and maybe then...will I unlock that true power of yours."

Belial looked at the figure, tilting his head. "You are that Maou-Class demon born from these roots... Demiurge..." Belial instinctively knew the being's name.

"Correct. I see that you've found yourself in quite the perilous situation, as thanks for being the perfect host for my power, I will help you along your way. I do hope you provide the entertainment I've been looking for after all this time." Demiurge said
"Everybody keeps saying that I am in peril when I am completely fine. In fact, with these roots in my body... I've never seen clearer since my birth." Belial said.

"Hah! If you believe being called master is a sign that I will become submissive to you, think again." Metatron said, chuckling. "That is the greatest sign of respect that I can show a person, mortal. You have yet to earn it."

"Or its simply taking you over, allow me to remove it." Demiurge said, approaching Belial
"Do not touch me, Demiurge," Belial said, binding Demiurge's movements using his absolute dominion over the demon species. He's usually the only demon around so he never uses that.

"I have handled it without harming anybody so far... What makes you think I cannot continue to do so?" Belial said, unbinding the demon a few seconds later.

"Hah! If you believe being called master is a sign that I will become submissive to you, think again." Metatron said, chuckling. "That is the greatest sign of respect that I can show a person, mortal. You have yet to earn it."
"It is true, I have yet to earn your respect," Lance said.

"But that's only for the moment my good sir! I don't plan on simply resting on my laurels, letting your power go to waste! I want to achieve truly great things with you by my side. things so great that even you may respect me!"Lance said confidently. he had big dreams, and now finally had the power to accomplish them.

"although if I'm going to achieve anything, it would be smart If I gained more...experience using your powers. Do you think another spar would be wise?" Lance asked the angel.

"It is my duty to remove anything that is a threat to my lord. I will not have my lord's mind and body be controlled." Demiurge said as he forcefully removed the Qliphoth by tearing out its essence and controlling ability entirely
The roots forcefully bonded themselves to Belial's body as Demiurge tried to remove them, only gripping tighter to Belial's flesh as he tried to remove them. "See? The more you try to remove them, the harder they will tighten. I've tried twisting space, teleporting away from them, burning them off, and practically every method you could imagine, Demiurge. These roots wish to stay with me more than anything, apparently." Belial said, chuckling a bit.

"I will tell you what I told my friends. Currently, I am fine. My voice is distorted and I'm in quite a deal of pain... But my body isn't changing and nobody has been hurt."

"Interesting... Perhaps creating a new body and moving your mind into it would work? Or have you already tried that?" Demiurge questioned
"I did, obviously. I believe most would have tried that." Belial said, "You are a Maou-Class demonic entity. Why spend your time on me? You aren't one of my shadow soldiers, so you aren't obligated to serve me."
