Putting the Solaris Debate to Rest + Updates

With the second part of my Sonic Revision being written in docs, I've decided to give a small update on how things are progressing, on top of pfonally putting a certain debate to rest.

First I'll go ahead get the update out of the way: Sonic's profile revision is going to happen soon, I'm just caught up in private real life business. Directly after his profile is updated, I will make a general discussion thread regarding the recently changed Sonic canonicity as well as discuss the appropriate scaling for each character.

Now for this debate. I've received three or four messages from different people regarding Solaris being "5-D" a.k.a High 2-A. Their reasoning for this comes from a Google+ post (and you all know how I feel about G+). Here's what is commonly debated:

  • Eggman stated Solaris is a super-dimensional lifeform.
  • Eggman stated Solaris would consume all timelines
  • Super Shadow was 4-dimensional and called Solaris "super-dimensional" meaning he's above even him (a.k.a 5-D)
Here's the final boss fight in the original language (please forgive this person's noob playing skills >.>)

Now, I will debunk each of these points as to why Solaris is not 5-D nor 2-A.

  • Super-dimensional is a play on Extra-dimensional, any dimensional object greater than three. That means at least 4-dimensional. It does not automatically grant 5-D status, it isn't even a real word. (I can't find ÞÂർíÕàâ anywhere in Tsubaki's Dai Kan-wa Jiten (which is the definitive dictionary for a Kanji specialist such as herself. The dictionary contains over 50,000 character entries and 530,000 compound words.). If the writers truly wanted to use a term to mean "5-dimensional" they'd use Õñܵ¼íÕàâ (Taijigen, lit. Meaning "Multidimensional") which is the Japanese term for "Multiverse", normally at least five dimensions.
  • "All timelines" can mean anything. The number of timelines in the Sonic universe is never specified. It could be 2-C or perhaps 2-B. Hence Solaris' rating. Do not bring up Sonic Shuffle or the Dreamworld. The Dreamworld and the physical multiverse are separate. Also due to the recently changed canonicity, that would include the unknown, undefined yet likely infinite Post Genesis Wave multiverse which is very difficult to determine and I strongly appreciate it if everyone would refrain from messing with that unless valid evidence is presented.
  • I shouldn't even aanalyze this...Super Shadow is not 4-D, rather he has some form of 4-D power. And his line was only him being arrogant. Obviously. Plus he said "This would be a fair fight" even if we took this line seriously, Solaris would be 4-D, not 5-D.
Now then, if anyone wants to keep pushing 5-D Solaris, kindly do not. I will keep refuting these points and eventually I'll get sick of it and we the rest of the staff will too eventually. It's best to leave poor deabting at the door.

yeah i agree with this 9001% percent nothing truly states solaris is 5D at all

"Super Shadow was 4-dimensional and called Solaris "super-dimensional" meaning he's above even him (a.k.a 5-D)"

We actually used that? Anyways, I agree with this.

@Blue No. It's an argument other people bring up that Sera's debunking. We never had that for a page IIRC.

But yes I agree with this as well.
