Everytime it says mental energy its also saying spiritual. Translators pick and choose,which is why it's been translated as both. If u wanna call it mental energy be my guess. But it doesn't change the fact that it's deeply tied in universe to souls and the like.
 
Kinda like how the "mental" aspect of chakra comes into play multiple times with chakra/soul stealing being used to gather info w the Rinnegan and the likes

How does that prove it's spiritual? Saying it's spiritual cause there's a jutsu that interact with a soul is asinine.

The evidence for chakra being spiritual, and even synonymous with the soul in Naruto, is so vast that it can comprise its own decently long blog. What's asinine is expecting him to list all of that to you off the cuff. Do your own research. The least you can do is check KT's thread on the topic, which is how it was accepted in the first place. Even that thread isn't fully comprehensive, btw, but it still has a lot of evidence within it.

Why you think I'm reading Naruto again? It might be because I'm looking for every single time it mentions mental and spiritual. Cause hey using 5-6 instances of specific jutsu having to do with the soul to wank the verse kinda seems yikes to me.

If the verse page actually had shit linked I might be able to. Even though the chakra page itself on the verse page states it's mental and physical energies.

Also I forgot to say this but I do love how we ignore the physical energy part of this equation.

I'm pretty sure it's not one or the other, but both given how it says "mental and spiritual energy" and talks about the other side of chakra as both the mind and the spirit in the same panel.

The only proof you got is the kanji. Using specific jutsu doesn't prove anything. Saying X jutsu can rip your soul out now means all jutsu can affect the soul is wank and dishonest.
